  1. This is not a new idea. There was a trailer company in Oklahoma doing this in the 90's. They did not sell many so they discontinued them. It definitely was more popular with the professional anglers. I was considering one to use for promo purposes with a lot of marketing on the trailer but it was price prohibitive. A marine dealer in central Arkansas may still have one rusting away out back. He is a skier so maybe Rick will see this and comment.
  2. @HortonStill have 2 AM 33 skis. Loved every ski that Andy ever made! Also liked my Warp back in the day! I like your fond memories of those skis. Makes me want to go back and give my Mapples and Warp a rip! Enjoyed your oddball video! Off to Covington Ski Ranch for a set or two tomorrow😎.
  3. @lpskier Hi John! This was a tie for the World Record, not National Men 3 record. He was skiing in the open division at 58K. Don't know what the "L" and "R" rules were back then, but now it would only go down as 3@-41 in the master scorebook due to Surepath. There must have been a score recorded into 9.75 that day on the books somewhere. The record was not denied till a few weeks later. @Horton I agree about the Urban Legend.
  4. @Hortondefinitely not out the gates, I think it was at 4 ball where the boat was away from Ben making it even harder to complete the pass.
  5. @HortonI had conversations with Ben Favret and Chad Scott back in the day when this occurred. They both confirmed to me that there was a boat path deviation away from the skier that nullified Ben’s record. Maybe Ben will read this and correct me if I am missing anything else but this was why he was so upset that it was not approved.
  6. Helena Kjellander in practice. Adam Sedlmajer at Collegiate Regionals, Mandy Nightengale in practice and Record tournaments, Adam Pickos in a Record tournament, and Sir Andy Mapple several times in practice❤️
  7. This video is awesome! I loved Eddie! What a true gentleman who was a giant in our waterski community! He will always have a special place in my heart. I was lucky to have him as a friend! He inspired us all with his positive attitude and waterski memories! His examples of over the top customer service was legendary. He touched so many skiers and leaves behind a wonderful legacy!
  8. I was also one of the 44 that correctly picked the podium and the score of 1@-43off. They put all our names in a random drawing so it was just luck of the draw. Sorry to burst your bubble about your stellar performance but congratulations on your luck of the draw!
  9. I was really excited to get all the men's podium and score correct till I heard that 44 of us had the same intuition. Too bad they did not have 44 skis for prizes!
  10. Welcome to Northwest Arkansas Ski Dawg! I am here for you on Beaver Lake or Boskus’s Cedar Creek Ski Park. Reach out to me when you guys get here!
  11. @horton Another Kidder fun fact according to Sammy. In the Redline Era, many pros were skiing on Kidder Redlines with tops made to look like their sponsors brands to remain nameless. Denny’s shapes were very popular and proven winners so it is possible that the Duvall Slalom also had some hidden Kidder shape influence. I was simply told that it was an EP Stilleto mold.
  12. @Horton Bryan Hero (Camille’s husband) did fund Duvall skis. It was later purchased by Wellington Sports. I am unclear if he actually purchased Kidder but Sammy did collaborate with Denny on the Venture. I helped Sammy in this area as a Rep, the mold of the slalom was an EP Stiletto. I think Denny retained the rights of the 7000 and ownership of Kidder past that era. I am not sure about the Kidder brand connection but Sammy and Denny had a long history. Maybe Sammy, Paul Crawford, or Denny will read this thread and clarify all the facts. The Duvall Brand was all about quality construction and performance, not necessarily new shapes.
  13. The Duvall Slalom was an EP Stiletto under the Wellington brand.
  14. Gordon was such a sincere person who went out of his way to help waterskiers! He was an amazing leader, hard worker, and talented skier! Our hearts ache for his family! I will miss my friend of over 30 years! Our region and entire sport have lost another Giant!!
  15. May not be Stokely's car either. I think his was slightly older. He used to ski at Okeeheelee. The last time I saw him in his Corvette there was several years ago at Nationals. Oh well! Still a Beautiful car!!!
