  1. Hats off to the TWSBC! I Can only imagine how much time and money went into this film and every weekend following and broadcasting the events. I think they did an amazing job of capturing peoples attention from the start, as well as keeping that interest with the limited amount of time given. They are heading in the right direction IMO with the right amount of ''eye candy'', fit athletes young and old, beautiful boats, and showing the family dynamics as well. Like any film or docuseries sure there could be improvements, but all in all it does a great job of explaining and demonstrating the heartbeat of tournament waterskiing. Freddy Winter was money explaining slalom, the right amount of emotion and showing how addictive the sport is. I know my 14 year old daughter and 12 year old boy loved the film for a lot of different reasons...LOL These athletes deserve to be popular and promoted better. This sport is not new, and it's not a fad, and it's not going away IMO. Well done!
  2. @HMan66 I had 1 lined up in Fresno but they seem to be ghosting me now. It's a 98'
  3. @Cent Yes it has the Mercruiser Throttle body EFI.
  4. @DW They are all wood free in those years.
  5. Yes, sorry I changed the Title after getting some feedback on the Sanger etc. I've narrowed my search down to a 98' Lapoint Elite, throttle body EFI, 260HP I believe. Really appreciate the help! Any feedback is appreciated.
  6. Can anyone comment on late 90's Ski Centurion Eclipse, Falcons? Trying to decipher all the different models online, they made a lot it seems. Want a closed bow tug.
  7. @DW Ok all good info, this is why i asked. We have 3 slalom skiers, 13 and under, so I am definitely looking for soft / forgiving wakes 24 MPH and up. It doesn't matter to me as I ski the same passes behind any boat new or old. But I need decent tracking, been skiing behind a friends Tantrum but it struggles to stay in the course, terrible tracking. Want to spend under $15G if possible
  8. Just looking for feedback on these boats, we are looking for a cheaper price point ski tug. Anyone have experience with the wakes and tracking? They seem to be a much cheaper option than the big 3 of those years and I am curious how they ski and drive.

    Tower on a 200

@Rw3 Roswell Aviator Pro looks great on the 200, rock solid build quality as well. https://www.roswellmarine.com/product/aviator-pro-wake-tower/
  10. @jerrym Does your boat have a fresh water filter/strainer? Seems silly but if its missing the rubber ''O'' ring it will suck air under throttle, could be as simple as that.
  11. Friend is looking at a mint 93 Brendella Pro Comp. He would prefer a Nautique Bubble Butt but the price is really good, Fuel injected motor, low hours. I have the same obvious questions... Anyone have experience with them? Wakes at all speeds ? 26-34, 22' off rooster? Tracking? Fit and finish? Just looking for honest feedback good and bad.
  12. @Horton have you owned 1 or skied behind 1 ? @Philippe_D , I own 1, the family all skis behind it and bought it for the same reasons as you to be a multi sport boat that fits a family and not just a 1 trick pony. As anyone on here could comment on any boat, adding some modest bow weight helps, a hundred pounds of lead bags takes up zero room under the bow cushions. Also researching prop choices, some of those boats came with a wakeboard prop which really increases RPM and prop turbulence at ski speeds. You may be able to reprop which will help to lower rpms and decrease the rooster. It is indeed the 200 Hull, but as mentioned the weight is mostly in the rear which hurts slalom performance, BUT...you can counter act this with bow weight and only skiing with minimal gear and passengers exactly like every direct drive owner on this site.... Faster speeds will obviously tame wakes down as well. Great boat, our family loves ours, your only better option is owning 2 boats.

    Malibu Tantrum

Thanks for the responses. For the price I think it's hard to beat, like I said right now any bubble butt TSC Nautique is more than double what this Tantrum is. Mostly 28 - 34 mph, into 32' on a good day.
  14. A Friend is considering a Malibu Tantrum for a budget slalom boat. Can anyone with experience comment on it? We know its a budget boat, bare bones etc. But really how are the wakes? Quality, ride and tracking? Did a bit of a search here but wanted to re visit some opinions on it. It would be about half the price of a comparable Nautique bubble butt but hoping for comparable wakes and tracking.
  15. @Scoot1123 I need pics of that Red Bubble Butt Nautique please!
  16. Hydrogate will only affect for and aft, not side to side running attitude. Either a lot of water in the tanks or water in the bilge would make it list that bad. I can't think of any other adjustments or settings that would cause or fix that issue. So I can't see it being that complicated? Or drain plug....
  17. @smokevw I have a 69'' Senate Graphite in Edmonton, AB I am thinking abut selling this year. Its 2 years old I believe.
  18. @swc5150 I totally agree there is no place for a surf boat on a 100 acre private lake. But I disagree about someone else stepping in for the big 3 DD boats. How many small independent companies have tried and failed? They need the $$$ backing to support such a small niche low volume market. Unless they just kept turning out old tech, and never had model changes and kept them bare bones and cheap to make.
  19. Devils advocate thinking, I am not convinced there would be all these new innovations or even a ski boat / direct drive boat market without the sale of all these big surf boats. It's a trickle down effect. I also question the erosion arguments, I've seen the damage 1 thunderstorm can have on shorelines, and it's much worse than a few boats travelling by at 11 mph on the lake I live on. But I 100% agree that there are guilty owners who have zero respect for neighbours and aren't willing to give any concessions because of their ''rights''.
  20. It's from a few years back, Shalom Park helped out with a Nautique 200 and local skier Brad Ronaldson. Not sure where they shot this, believe it was a public lake somewhere in AB.
  21. I just finished the recent podcast with Trent and Rossi, and just wanted to thank all these pros and coaches who are taking the time to sit down and record these tutorials! I've learned more (I hope) in the last few weeks than in 30 years of skiing lol. Really appreciate the passion these guys have for the sport, it's got me motivated and re sparked my drive to overcome a bunch of my issues. Hopefully I can translate it into my skiing once the ice is off the lakes up here. For me these are much more beneficial than trying to listen to a coach from the boat, while I'm huffing and puffing in the water trying to decipher what I'm doing and what they are trying to say in a rushed environment. I can pause, watch video, compare, rewind etc... Thank you to all these guys and girls! Rossi, Trent, Horton, Howley, Terry, Marcus and the rest!
  22. Whats the surface area of those boots? And what Zero Off settings do you recommend with those....?
  23. Just going back to the start of this thread, after owing many DD, we decided to go to the Nautique Sport 200V last summer when the family got bigger and a need came up for more storage and seating. Plus the ability to do more than just skiing, as we surf, wakeboard, and all the rest. I searched for months until one became available, they don't stay on the market long, there is a demand as we have had standing offers on ours, but guessing not enough demand to continue production. There are pros and cons to every purchase, just make sure it checks enough boxes for your family. I will never go back to a DD, I course ski into 32' off, 3 kids are all learning slalom 24 -30 mph. Is the slalom wake great at slower speeds? NOPE. But its good enough, and more than acceptable to learn on. At 34 + its comparable to any DD I've skied behind, just more spray. I grew up learning the course behind a 75' Ski Nautique, so I've got some big wake experience! Judging by the amount of ''V drive Crossover'' threads I've read on this site over the years there just might be some demand for these types of boats? I'd be happy to share any honest, non biased insights if anyone is thinking of making the change.
