  1. Just wanted to find out who is still skiing this late in the year. Got hooked with a place down here at SkiTek in Orlando and we are running daily so if anyone is looking for a set look us up on www.proskicoach.com!
  2. Since I really don't get to run a course that often I was wondering if anyone could suggest any good drills that I could be working on when i'm not running a course. Also, how will I know when i'm ready to take off more line length or bump up the speed? Which of these should come first as I develop as a skier? Should I be working on running shorter lines first or being able to ski at faster speeds? Thanks for helping out a new skier! Colin
  3. Well the new senate finally got here at the end of last week courtesy of John and Eddie. Spent all weekend riding on it and made a few adjustments but so far haven't had good water to ski on. Hoping to get out middle of the week if some flat water ever shows up. Can anyone tell me what the deal is with how this ski turns??? I'm not used to having to be this patient witha ski but if I try to really go after a turn the rope just goes slack every time. any thoughts? Colin
  4. When i'm skiing the course recently I have been super wide for 1,3,5 and after my wake cross and edge change I feel like I am getting pulled over and barely making it around 2,4,6. I'm a LFF skier and I know this is my off side but why is the pull feel so much stronger on this side as compared to the right side? Thanks for the help. ColinÂÂÂ
  5. When does a skier need to consider not using a wing anymore or I guess the better question is when is appropriate to try not using one? Colin
  6. I ski for fun now but I want to start competing! Colin
  7. Wow hey Lynn great to hear from you. I'm just getting back to working again but as soon as I get a free weekend I would love to head up there. Thanks for hitting me up and I look forward to skiing with you soon.  Colin
  8. First off big thanks of course to Mr. Horton and also Mr. Roberts. Horton if you could get me his e-mail so that I cn thank him I would greatly appreciate it. Malibuowner and 2gofaster thanks for the tips and all of your support not only from me but for my fellow service members. It means more than people know that there are still people out there who support what we do. Mr. horton I look forward to hearing from you and posting more on this site about the progress. Thanks all! Colin Buchanan ÂÂÂ
  9. Wow thanks so much Horton. I have a set of connelly draft bindings that i came across. Obviously no ski to put them on. I will send a picture as soon as possible.
  10. Just checked that second link. Just what i was looking for thanks Horton. If you know where to order these for a good price let me know and I would appreciate it.
  11. Doesn't really matter new or used. I should also mention that I am mostly free skiing with the opportunity to ski a course about once a week. Thank you for saying that Horton that means quite a bit these days.
  12. I have looked at those ski test but truth be told i'm not sure if those skis are out of my league as far as ability goes. Also I have yet to find a review of the connelly F1x which is a ski that i have ridden once and felt VERY comfortable on. I would like to know if any one else has opinions on this ski and others that would be good for my level of skiing. Thats for the help!
  13. I am a 24 year old male that is 6' tall and weigh around175. I'm just got out of the army and am getting back into skiing and was wondering about what ski i should upgrade to. My ski from before the army was a 66" connelly course with double high wrap bindings. I got this ski when I was 16 so needless to say I have gotten a bit bigger since then. I am currently at 28 off at 32 mph and getting better by the run! If you decide to help with some advice please keep the terms simple as I am not really in tune with all the terminology of the sport yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Colin Buchanan
