  1. Right or wrong, I was taught to vary my transition, not the intensity, place, or length of pull out. So in a head wind, snap the ski up out of the pull out lean. Which serves to keep the energy up in the glide, counteracting the headwind.
  2. Horton, As soon as my new ski arrives I'm getting out my grinder and a drill. New skis have warranties, right?
  3. I ruptured my back leg ACL and never had it repaired. I planned too. But my Dr left his existing practice and moved to another and when that happened, we never rescheduled. Now, I am also a cyclist and continued riding even the week I ruptured it. Which the doctor said is why I wasn't forced to have it repaired. If you're doing cutting or jumping sports, like Basketball, having it repaired is mandatory. But after strengthening all of the muscles in my legs I've never felt a need for it.
  4. If there is one person you should ignore, it's definitely that eleeski cat. He's loony as the day is long.
  5. What is going to be better with the sharper bevels? What are the expected results?
  6. Oh man, I remember day 1. Not like it’s yesterday. Because I drank a lot between then and now. Including now. Happy birthday to the ‘spray!
  7. You're just pissing in the wind if you don't measure the angle of the dangle.
  8. One huge thing that Chad Scott taught me is that the mistake most new and even average drivers make is fixating on the next set of boat guides. The good drivers are looking down course. As a skier, ever heard "look down, fall down"? It's the same for drivers. As soon as you start looking at the next boat guide, you get behind the skier. Plus, As soon as you start staring down the next boat guide, you tend to drive towards whichever side buoy you're looking at.
  9. One of my favorite places I've skied. Such a unique place. Ski in front and hang out on the open water in back. Couldn't ask for a better set of neighbors in the Franks, also.
  10. Good to know I can still completely side track pretty much any topic. 🙂
  11. @DavidP JTH has a sweet Taperflex he's been saving for that.
  12. That's as good as I've seen you run 38. And that line tension coming off the apex is something. Looks like it's providing just enough support without having so much that it is on you before the hookup.
  13. We should go ahead and set the bar so high to hold a tournament that only 3 people can afford to show up. I love technology. But this coming to fruition just amplifies all the other issues that have been spurned out of the failed O-Story. I mean Olympic debacle.
  14. What that means is that it's a 16 degree strut. You know it's a 6 bolt, and you know it's 1" . with that you can find a strut. https://www.myinboardmarine.com/products/strut-16-degree-centurion-1998-up-1-inch-shaft-6-hole-bolt-pattern-stsl-16-includes-strut-bearings-mhstrutstsl16-10
  15. what's the other side look like, though? Are there set screws there to clamp it after you use the wheels to adjust it?
  16. So I have to tell this story over the white truck and the rolex. At the SCR Regionals in 2015(maybe it was 14, but I think it was 15), Chad said "Hey man, you want to run me somewhere to pick up a truck?" I said sure, so off we went. As we're pulling up in front of this Walmart, Chad says "Dude, so we're meeting a drug dealer. He's just going to drop this truck off that I'm confiscating. There shouldn't be any trouble....... But he is a drug dealer, you never know if they're showing up with machine guns, so stay in the truck." LOL Oh ok, Chad. Thanks for cluing me in. So said drug dealer drives up in a Bentley Continental GT and his lackey is driving that new white F150 Platinum that they talk about in the podcast. Chad comes back over to my truck, gets in, shows me this brand new Rolex in a box that they gave him, and gets his bag out. He writes up a confiscation receipt for them both and says "This guy is trying to catch me with this watch." We then go back to Regionals. Pretty sure thats the only drug dealer interaction in my life. That I know of. LOL
  17. Can't we all just get along? Except with that Horton guy. He's a ding dong.
  18. @water_skier1 They removed the presentation layer from the top also. Which is where the plural of layers came from. And just because you see a texture that looks consistent does not mean that the process is not difficult, nor that it did not generate out of spec skis that couldn't be sold as #1 stock.
  19. BTW I've been in contact with Chad and he's doing good. He said he's taking it one day at a time.
  20. I'm just disappointed that they didn't have a recounting of the Attack Chicken story.
  21. Knowing how much I loved that ski they gave me way back during the Horton and HIll adventure year, this really interests me.
  22. I just stood here in my garage and emulated that standing flat. I think a pulled a hip flexor and now going to get my TENZ unit out.
  23. Honestly, if there was a ROI for sponsors, there would be a webcast. If USA Waterski had identified it as a critical path to a successful Nationals, there would be a webcast. The fact that there isn't a webcast as a defacto part of Nationals tells you a lot. So then it comes down to a wish list item for a few people. So it'll always have issues getting funded and every year it will be the same thing, where someone has to do their best to drive "donations". Because that's what you're really asking for.
