  3. Hey John. I have a lots of video from the 2010 Big Dawg at Laku. This is very high quality video taken from the boat. There is a separate video file in .mts format of each pass for most skiers. Each file is about 60-70mb in size. Would you like some of this? Stacy

  7. We have club boats at Laku Landing in Colorado. We have a 2010 200 and a 2009 196. While no one would have a negative thing to say about the 196, if they are both available, it's the 200 that is chosen almost all the time. Everyone loves to drive it and ski behind it. We are at about 5000 ft and our 200 has the 6 liter. I would definately recommend that. And NO the pull is not harder. In fact, the 200 is the softest boat I have ever skied behind. I use B2 on most boats, but use C3 on the 200. I skied behind a 2011 200 at a tournament and it felt the same. By the way, our 2009 196 is available for sale. $36k. It's on ski-it-again.
  8. I tried a mini ventral wing and it didn't work for me. It had too much drag and caused me to ski narrow. I reduced my normal wing to something less than 6 degrees without success. I couldn't feel any benefit, so why work harder? Anyway, I just listed it on Ski It Again for $50, if someone is interested in buying it. It's in perfect condition. Just skied on it for 3 sets. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=15568
  9. I just did it that way too and got back an email that says it was accepted. OK...we'll see.
  10. MS, are you saying you did one sanction application for the whole summer? Right at the top of the Sanction Practices page  it says: Practice Dates & TimesNote: Only indicate regularly scheduled practice dates/times. Schedules with all dates will not be accepted.
  11. Scores should be in the list by midweek after the tournament unless there is some problem with files submitted. Marco, my scores from the 9/11, Laku Liftoff tournament are in usawaterski.org. (kinda wish I could remove that big goose-egg! How embarrasing! :-) Stacy
  12. Laku has two 2009 Ski Nautiques for sale. We only want to sell one of them but you can choose which you prefer. Both are similarly equipped. One has 250 hours for $34,000 The other has 450 hours for $33,000 Find pics and information here: www.laku.com/boats4sale
  13. Hey everyone. Wanted to let you know that we plan to webcast the Big Dawg this weekend. I'm a little worried that the resolution will be bad though. We are rural and don't have a high speed internet connection. We setup a router to pull wireless from a nearby house, but I've been testing and the picture is not great, so I apologize in advance. I'm going to try to get it running for tomorrow afternoon practice if you want to check in. www.livestream.com/laku We do plan to tweet on the skibigdawg twitter account, so follow along there, too. Information about our site has been posted on http://skibigdawg.com We're looking forward to a fun weekend! Stacy
  14. It IS the case that there are major problems with this system. Just in my local area I know of 9 broken or bent bars. One young man bent/broke 5 bars himself and on the 5th one he shattered his ankle and now has plates and screws. One hour later in the same tournament another person took a similar over the front, the bar bent in exactly the same way and he tore a ligament in his ankle. Sure, no binding is completely safe, but the number of bent/broken bars is excessive. Something is wrong. I would not use these bindings.Â
  15. I live in Denver and ski at Laku, which is north about 60miles and a beautiful site with great conditions. Our season is from April-Oct.  It's about 1-2 hour drive into the mountains from Denver to various snow ski resorts unless you run into traffic, which you will on weekends, and then it can take hours and hours. Its best to go weekdays if possible.  There are quite a few private lakes in Colorado and a lot of tournament water skiers. There are several lakes in the mountains, but then your water ski season is very short. There is one at Dotsero, Steamboat and Rifle and Montrose. There is one in Grand Junction and a bunch on the front range around Denver.Â
  16. I agree with thanimal. I was unhappy with the 4wakes. The material is thinner and I got blisters while using them. I also had stitching come undone on the thumb. Found a pair of Talons in the 1/2 price bin at my local shop. You'd have thought I struck gold I was so thrilled!
  17. I love the talon gloves. I've tried several other types and brands and haven't found any I like as well. I have an old pair I'm nursing along. I would love for HO to make them again.  Stacy
  18. Is there a website where the scores from today and brackets for tomorrow are being posted?
  19. Horton, I have some questions about the RS-1 that maybe you can answer: I'm on a Goode 9800 now. Can you compare the performance, construction and weight of the RS-1 to the 9800? Do you have a link to the ski tests so I can read about it? Is a 65" the right size for a woman, 130lb, 5'6", 34mph? I would want to put my Powershells on it. Does the ski have inserts for the RS-1 plate? Are the inserts flush with the ski so that there is no obstruction to adhering dual-lock. Thanks, Stacy sjholbert at comcast dot net
  20. Would a 66" be the right size for a woman, 130lb, 5'6", 34mph? My understanding is the warranty does not extend to a subsequent buyer. Is that true?
  21. This is wierd...that picture I attached (a couple of posts up) was taken Sunday when the algae was horrible.  I went to the lake last night (tues) and 90% of the algae was gone!  It had been increasing in quantity for about 10 days. During that time the weather had been hot and sunny. Yesterday it was overcast and a little cooler (maybe upper 80s.) I wonder if that made it die.
  22. Our algae is green fibers about 1 inch long. when the water is calm, they clump together and float on top. while we're skiing it's like pea soup. I actually have a picture of it (attached.)
  23. We have grass carp that eat the weeds, but they won't eat the algae. 3 weeks ago we applied Copper Sulfate (K-Tea) to Lake 1, which did kill the algae. The application cost about $450. A week later all the CS was in Lake 2, which was then algae free and Lake 1 was blooming again. Now Lake 1 is as bad or worse than before.  Kind of expensive for 1 week of relief.  The problem is that we have water flow into Lake1, then Lake 2, then out. Dye's and treatments just don't last. How can we do a maintenance treatment that will keep algae under control with the water flow conditions we have? Someone suggested putting a gunney sack of Copper Sulfate granules at the inlet and let it dissolve into the incoming water. Others say that the Copper Sulfate has to be sprayed on the floating algae so it binds. I'm not knowledgeable about this but it seems to me that the CS that filtered into Lake 2 was not "applied" to the algae and yet it killed most of it.
