  1. @Horton my speculation is that there were 2 cameras on the pylon, the one you displayed and a higher resolution as a backup and that one of them was very clear and provided what was required to be approved. Many of us, TC's, now use 2 cameras on the pylon.
  2. @Horton, why do the Horton niece's seem to migrate to the east coast for college? It's good to have them in our region.
  3. I know I usually enjoy the class C events much more than the L/R events. Part of that is because I’m one of the organizers/hosts at our site where we host usually 2 L/R tours a year; and they are a ton of work. As others have said, the majority of skiers don’t need them. I believe if I want to attend one, I’m willing to drive 5 or 6 hours to get there ; that’s a drop in the bucket compared to my time investment at my lake hosting one.
  4. @JeffSurdej can we give the choice to skiers, in all divisions, whether they ski E or L? Thanks.
  5. @JeffSurdej for Regionals and Nationals, can we just let the skier choose when they enter whether they want E or L? We don't need to do anything different regarding judging, just making sure our scorebooks are set up correctly; then those choosing E can ski under AWSA rules and if they like, ZBS. I could envision those who historically have not gone to these events in the past, finding an option to participate.
  6. @"Keith Menard" I use a Go Pro 4 regularly and it works great on the pylon. I also have a GoPro 2 that works well and interchange them. What settings are you using? I use the Medium FOV, usually 60 FPS and can pick up all rope lengths with great clarity.
  7. Perfect @A_B , we can keep the wakeboard boats off the ski lakes with a shallow pond.
  8. I had a similar situation a while ago, the battery tested fine, the problem was the ground wire connected to the starter. Moral of the story, check your grounds.
  9. For me I have found that if something is not working at my hardest pass, it's usually that I have not been doing some part of the technique in my easier passes. I have found it helpful to ski an entire set working on technique at one pass, for me, typically what I would classify as my 2nd pass in a tournament set. This seems to help me build muscle memory (hopefully the correct memory) and I can also refine/improve technique.
  10. I seem to get the vapors when I drink too much Scotch!
  11. @Horton It seems that many of the folks I see ski with one handed gates are slow to get up to speed early. There is a lot of movement to engage in the turn in to the gates and a delay in getting up to speed early.
  12. I believe the biggest time requirement is vegetation growth on the shore to better manage erosion.
  13. @jcamp I agree with all your points, my point is that the judgment of anyone does not belong here. After the judgment has been rendered, just as @Horton did by providing the public information from SafeSport, that is fine, but not for the discussion and finding of guilty or not guilty in this forum.
  14. But I also believe that the discussions like the recent ones about Mr. Smith do not belong in this forum. These issues are court or organization based and belong in an organized fashion where all parties involved, for the most part, none of us, can discuss and resolve. In my opinion, this discussion has sounded a like vigilante justice, without regard to hearing from all but more importantly to me, do not belong in social media.
