I would like to hear about this vest as well. I'm currently using the older version (with two straps). I went to this vest because it has better rib protection than most vests and floats me better as well. I've had it for about 4 years and it's still ok, but will eventually need a new one and they have changed the design...

Holy crap, I didn't recognize you! Haven't seen you since the last Okeeheelee Nationals you attended (I think a pretty long time ago). Sorry we didn't get a chance to chat...

We have all three hulls to drive and ski behind at Okeeheelee. I use B2 with the Prostar and Malibu. The Nautique feels firmer to me so I use B1. As a driver, I notice a lot of B and C use with the Prostar and Malibu. The vast majority of skiers seem to use A2 with the Nautique. My ski partner just traded in his Prostar for a Nautique, so I may get a bit more time to try A and/or C settings with it since I usually only get a set with one in a tournament.

@Sunapee - I heard that on the broadcast, but the tournament was sanctioned as R. The wider tolerances spoken of are only for E/L AFIK, I was not there so not pointing fingers at Chris who is a world class driver, it may have been a glitch with Surepath, something I've seen myself recently at a tournament in Palm Bay. I was boat judge and the driver who was getting excellent Surepath numbers the whole set suddenly got wild numbers (-35, -25, -30, etc.). It happened twice to him and once to another driver, both times in the same direction. No idea what causes that (no way either of them was that far off). At the Mastercraft tournament, they spoke a few times of the wind shifting to a cross from the head/tail and that can be an issue if it's strong enough. I've spoken with Will Bush about this as we had a very strong cross at Okeeheelee earlier this year and it was enough to move the course out from under the Surepath GPS coordinates. He said when that happens you have to go to end course. I'm fine if it was a glitch in the system or they determined the cross wind shifted the course, but if it was a red screen with say one buoy more than 20cm, then I want to know why no reride...

How were there two rejected boat paths at 38 and 39 for Charlie Ross and no reride for either?

I think Cole can do it, he has run 4 a few times already. I pulled him in practice this weekend and he ran 41 with very good Shurepath numbers. Only a matter of time before he pulls one out in a tournament...

Congrats to Dan on both counts! That's one (another) nice thing about SurePath. I pulled Phillipa Sched's Women 6 record (4@38) a couple of weeks ago at Palm Bay, FL and I knew instantly that if the rope measured good and the course numbers were good, she had the record since my SurePath numbers were good. Sure beats waiting 1 to 6 weeks to see if the record is approved...

Just went through this with a friend's calipers. We could figure the conversion from his non-slot to his slot which was different than from my non-slot to my slot calipers. The really interesting thing was that his slot calipers and my slot calipers did not have identical length slots... So, all you can do is measure the difference between "your" non-slots and "your" slotted calipers to figure the offset. That means, of course, that you can't just look at someone else's non-slot number and use "your" conversion number and you can't even use someone else's slot numbers with "your" slot calipers. When I get a new ski, I just set the DFT to as close to the stock number as I can using their method (slot or regular caliper method) and then use that number to adjust from until I'm satisfied for my skiing.

I'm really happy he's doing it. One thing that bugs nearly every time though is when he says "skiers can change ZO settings every pass now which started either this year or last." Thinking we've been able for at least 5 years...

@Tarek - "With the one hour drive it's not very easy and convenient for me that's why looking for more convenient alternatives." One hour drive? When I drive from Brandon to Mullberry, it's about 25 minutes...

Local skier here at Okeeheelee had one at the dock and another lessor one while in the hospital early this year. He's back skiing (and biking) at pre-attack levels. It probably comes down to how much damage your heart has sustained. Your doctor will be able to help you determine a proper path...

@Mateo_Vargas - It's fresh and deep (not too clean though). Warehouses on both sides so good protection unless north or south wind. Rollback can be bad depending on depth at the time. Seen wait times from 60 to 120. I feel it's a tad slower than Okeeheelee, have been some great scores there in the past.

@Ali - those are the times on the running order I just received.

@aupatking - "The reason T-Gas’ full -41 pass doesn’t put him on the list of guys that has run -41 is that it was a runoff. They don’t do boat path review, among other things." Boat path was not measured on a number of the skiers on the 41 off list as no record was set... We have no way of knowing if previous skiers on the list had legit boat paths or not.

Great skiing, about as easy a 41 as I've seen run! Also, great driving by Greg (thanks for sharing the SurePath numbers)!

@Gloersen - Only skied one set on it due to upcoming tournament. Skied right to my average, so pretty nice (currently on a 21 Vapor). I think the offside may be better than my current ski, but hard to evaluate with one set. Hopefully, I'll get another go after the tournament next weekend if the guy still has it. Only had the 21 for a couple of months, so spousal approval might be an issue...

I have a 2016 Pro Star which still has dual pucks and therefore cannot use Rev-S (so I'm on Rev-R). Personally, I can't tell the difference between my boat and any Pro Star after mine with single puck which is why I haven't invested in upgrading to the single puck system. As for the Plus setting, if they had implemented the setting the way we asked them to, it would be way more popular in my opinion. What was asked for was what happens with the Rev-R setup when you just switch to trick mode and ski, that's not what we got...

No difference between my 16 and the 21/22 wakes for slalom (at least at my loops/speed, 28 to 38, 32mph).
