keith2oskier I was at board stock I help put in the slalom coarse. It was a four bouy coarse after the first round the skiers decide no gates. Jamie B won Beushea won but did not use the gates. Terry Winter went threw gates and lost by a 1/2 bouy. I think all the pros spilt the prize money. I ask Jamie what he thought about the conditions he said any body can ski in perfect conditions. I'd rather ski in front of 100,00 people. They all said it was there favorite tournament ever the place was crazy. Kid rock flew in on a helicopter & right behind him another helicopter flew in with Pamela Anderson. I got about half the skiers back stage to meet him & her. Marcus Brown did a great job getting all the top pros their. Sad to say the organizer Rob Stimmel died in a on his way to his honeymoon plane crash. He met her at board stock, I knew both great people.

I know I used to own a 1979 Ski Supreme & a 1986 Supra ts6m if you wanted a16.10r15.9 I could drive it and I'm sure you could too I would like to see the new drivers Qualify by driving by hand to get Certified not Zero off. Straight, I would just buy both 3/16 & 1/4 I would go with straight I've had both but I trust straight more. Just tighten the prop on the shaft tight hold prop with towel back off nut then snug up not tight. When you put the boat in the water and if the boat vibrates the key way is to tight must have tiny gap. I have another Question I have a1999 snob my kids are more into surfing and wakeboarding. I'm looking at a malibu VTX 2010 -2014 I believe you wrote once you watch somebody run 39 off on it. If so how is the wake at 28 off 34 &36.

I believe it is 1/4" like Zman said but on the 1997 thru now they have a pin on the keyway. You don't need the pin just make sure you have a tiny gap between key shaft and prop if its tight you will get vibration tighten prop on shaft, keyway should have tiny gap that you can see with flash light I got rid of Nautique nut and put a stainless with nylon insert Tighten back off and barly snug. It will work fine its a really cheap part like 10 bucks from Nautique. About 2 bucks From Lowes Or Home depot.

I'd speed up the boat to 36 and shorten rope to 41 off. Just go for It .

Question for @oldjeep looking at VTX for family boat currently own 1999 196 snob need more room teenagers who surf & wake board. Dads the only skier in family. Boats too crowded with kids friends in boat. How does it ski at 36 mph at 28-38 off mostly free skiing. I'm 54 but like 36 better than 34. Just got back from Shasta lake,CA need more room this looks like my best option. What's the best years and what should I look for not looking for a new boat.
