We are on a private ski lake in Iowa and leave our Shore Station lift in during the winter. Never had any issues. It does have a heavily braced VW dock on 3 sides. On a public lake in north Iowa, all lifts were pulled for winter to keep the ice floes from destroying them, but in the small habours & canals they were able to leave them in.

78 and light winds, great for mid September in Iowa.

@skigirl00, you might want to wait until you get on the collegiate team. A collegiate team uses our lake, they get really good deals from a couple ski manufacturers.

@ScottScott, I did an abrupt face plant on a wakeboard while wearing Oakley Water Jackets, I have a broken blood vessel on my nose from the impact.

1998 Sport Nautique, we had a1993 that was a great boat for everything, but the rooster tail was a bit hard at 15 off. A friend had a 1998 (tsc1 hull) that had a nice soft wake for slalom, load it up and it’s great for wakeboarding.

You can also move the fin forward to tighten the turn radius.

I’ll check with my husband, he currently has a pullover O’Neill. After fracturing his shoulder snow skiing last winter, he doesn’t have the range of motion to get in & out of the O’Neill.

@Chef23, on the mitten issue.... my Swany mittens have zippered compartments on the back of the hand for the disposable glove warmers. They are great for really cold days! Especially Breckenfridge in January. Let me know what you decide for your boots, my husband needs to do something for his cold feet.

Another problem is not being able to get smooth public water for water sports. The lakes are just too busy, and the boats keep getting bigger. We used to have property on a natural lake in northern Iowa. When we started out the average boat size was 18'-20'. When we sold 20 years later, most boats were deep V and around 25', or larger. It was getting scary to have our 1993 Sport Nautique on the lake during the afternoon. We had pretty much given up on waterskiing, except early mornings during mid-week. The water was trashed by 10am for wakeboarding. Wake surfing and tubing were really the only options left.

I've got my Epic Pass again this year. Will be staying in Frisco for 2 weeks in January, skiing mostly at Breckenridge. Another 2 week trip late-February/early-March, will ski Vail/BC and meet some friends in Summit county for a few days. Not sure where for our late season trip, depends on snow conditions. Would like to take another road trip to Tahoe, it's been about 7 years.

@dvskier, it sure is! Especially with 1 day passes hitting the $150 mark. I think I met you last winter! I was waiting for my husband in our Sequoia, you noticed our Nautique sticker and we talked skiing for a little while. Small world...

@HighAltitude, I am about your height and weight, a little older and female. My max speed is 32. I bought a 66" Vapor Graphite last summer and thought it was every bit as forgiving as my old D3 Z7 ST. I was told the Graphite would be more forgiving than the Lithium or Pro Build. Some people were telling me to get a Senate, but I was in between sizes. I didn't want to go up to a 67" since I always had to do a lot of fin tweeking on a 67". I thought going down in length we negate the extra width. You should demo a D3, they are very forgiving skies without giving up any performance. In fact 2 of my old D3 skis still live at our lake. Both people instantly started skiing better on them. Where do you ski in Colorado? We were looking to move there about 4 years ago, and might start looking again.

@sunvalleylaw, that video makes me miss Sun Valley. We haven't skied there in almost 20 years, but it was always one of my favorites to visit. Vail's Epic Pass has been too good to pass up the last 8 years.

If you go from a Vector to a Profile, your ski will be much more responsive. It will take a few passes to adjust, but you won't have to work as hard to roll your ski on edge. The full boots are great, they keep your gett much warmer in cold water. It is also nice to be able to heat mold the liners to your foot, they will hug your foot like a good snow ski boot. My husband skied on a Senate with Vectors a couple years ago due to an injury, when he switched to a Vapor/Vapor setup he couldn't believe the difference.
