  1. @MISkier Yes we do. They are an option on our website. We just have to update it with photos.
  2. As the KD distributor I will do my best to as impartial as possible. I learned to ski the course on a Senate and for a skier at my level I can't say I have any complaints. I switched skis when I got to 34mph and the 67" felt a little too big. I was about 10lbs lighter then as well. I have not rode a senate model past 2021 but I remember it being stable and able to carry good speed. Keep in mind I was only skiing in to 22' off at 34mph at this time or 28' off at slower speeds. Last year I started on the KD 66" Fusion For reference I am 5'10 180ish. Out of the box I liked the Fusion in some ways it reminded me of the Senate. Stable and easy for deep water starts. Turns felt different (but I was coming off a D3 at the time). Once comfortable on the ski I found it turned good and is deceiving at how easy it was to get cross course. It also carries speed easily. For fun I did a 26mph-32mph @ 22' off. and 28"off @ 30mph. I appreciate the ease of getting wide at the slower speeds. If you ski at a higher level I would recommend what @Horton and @h2oSkiJunkie have to say.
  3. @Dacon62 Sorry for the slow response. Catching up from the holiday. Attached is an image of our straight and bent handles next to each other. Both are 13" x 1.000". We don't have any other handle brands in the shop. If we get one in to re-string we can provide a side by side. I hope this provides a reference point. Regarding the curve we focused on a bend that creates a longer flat spot for grip as opposed to a continual curve where your hand might not make full contact with the bar. We can machine another fixture that creates the continuous bend if the market calls for it. Regarding strength of the bent bar, I am not a metals expert but have some background knowledge and worked extensively with our tooling shop to while testing products. Aluminum is a malleable metal that can be bent. Aluminum in general tends to bend before breaking. A bend in most metals will weaken it as it breaks up the molecules. Factors affecting this include the bend, number of times bent and the strength of the material. We bend the bars only once in a press using a machined fixture with a hard stop to prevent over bending so the angle has as little affect as possible. We have not done extensive test comparisons but so far have not had an issue. The bend angle of curved waterski handles is not super aggressive. If you have any other questions please feel free to shoot us an email anytime. Ski it up!
  4. @lw_moskier so far so good. Bend angle is consistent regardless of handle size. We are awaiting some final feedback but happy with what we are hearing!
  5. @mac Yes, we are doing testing next week and if all goes well production will start.
  6. I'll be there at the S Lines booth Wednesday-Saturday.
  7. @dislandThe R3 or the new X Series would be the best choice. Based on feedback from our test skiers I would recommend going with the X Series.
  8. @ghutchI'll email you about the order. Yes, I plan to come back to Whitestone for a tournament this year!
  9. @ghutchWe are working on them as we speak. @skierjp They are in the works.
  10. @macWe are working on having radius handles available by mid-April. If we have an approved test one available before then I can let you know.
  11. @Kimbymon We are scheduled to start receiving the cores for the handles later this month. We will be sending a notice out when they arrive. @Hucklefin we are putting the marking sleeves on the S Series, Competition and R3 as standard now. They can come without if someone does not want the sleeves.
  12. @Than_Bogan We have played around with spectra and are trying a few combinations. Mixing compounds is always interesting because you are looking at 2 different characteristics in spectra vs poly-p. We have thought of braiding sprectra in to our poly-p rope gor the reason listed. This leads to 1 of 2 outcomes, 1) the lower stretch of the sprectra would take the majority of the load making the poly-p only good as a filler and would still breakdown. 2)The rope has more stretch from the poly-p majority and the spectra factor does not come into affect until a certain stretch amount losing the characteristics of an all spectra rope. This outcome might be ideal so long as the spectra added slows the breakdown of the poly-p enough. The idea of mixing in the spectra to make it stiffer and last longer is a good thought and there is likely a specific formula to make it work, it will just depend on the cost and time of mixing versus 100% spectra rope. Also, poly-p does bring mass and weight that is not wanted. If looking at cost savings with longevity poly-p with the clear tubing and/or protector at the briddle. For little to no stretch and long life, spectra is currently the best option. We will be offering spectra (hopefully very soon) and will continue to try new cobinations. @buoyboy1 I was recently talking with another skier about handle line having some type of bungee or adjustable stretch option. Your idea is a good thought to alleviate some of the soreness caused by the stiffer spectra. We are looking into the US Gear design as well figuring out the best option there. We know those who have them love them. Keep the questions and ideas coming!
  13. @VONMAN We are working on adding spectra to our rope line. Once we have it available it will be an option. We are also testing handles strung up with Poly-E to see how those work and hold up over time. @skierjp we will add them to our website for purchase after we have the first batch completed. Looking at mid-December.
  14. @o2bnMaine Happy to hear you are liking the handle! @CasualDrewski We will have final pricing with the official release but price will be right around the same as InTow @vtmecheng Yes, we will have a protector. @brody The first run will be straight but the second will have a radius @VONMAN We would like to make that style and are currently looking into it. Keep an eye on our website in the next month or so.
  15. @LeonL definitely not a stupid question. A variety of things can affect or change the characteristics of a rope and its stretch/rebound amount. Removing outside variables such as water and air temp the focus being on the make up of the rope. Without giving away what we do, things such as how the braid of the rope is laid up, yarn tensile strength, yarn mass, how the yarn was extruded and if the yarn is twisted and how much twist along with gearing and tension on the machines all play a factor in this. For example our competition series and R3 series use different yarns and braids. When working on test ropes we tend to focus on one thing to see how that change affects the rope. Similar to dialing in your ski and messing with the fin or binding placement, just more variables. I hope that helped answer your question. @Horton loves talking about this stuff with me haha
  16. @Mastercrafter I think I need to finish dialing in the rubber for our handles before I try to tackle the boat market. I like boats as much as rope but my wife might be a little upset if I take on that venture haha.
  17. Now that I have had a minute to get caught up after 3 straight tournament weekends and traveling. What an amazing start to the summer for us at S Lines. Lake 38 was our first pro tournament and we saw a 1@43 done on our rope! I will have to check after this weekend but last I knew only the 2nd 41' ran so far this year in a tournament! Absolutely incredible along with several skiers getting into 41' off. The feedback was fantastic and we found some ways to make a good rope even better. Great place, to ski and everyone I met was awesome. Even went home with signed tournament bib for my son. He loved that. BOS at Whitestone was great. Beautiful place, great people. Lots of awesome skiing and watched quite a few PB's get set. Great to watch some of the younger skiers improve and get into 39.5' off. @ghutch is was great meeting you there and awesome skiing! If you have not been to Whitestone I highly recommend it. There is nothing like it. Meijer State Games was a great way to wrap things up and ski at my home lake. Always a fun 3 event tournament and got to meet some new people. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to meet so many great people and help sponsor tournaments at all levels. People have been so amazing everywhere. The feedback has been awesome and we are going to keeping working on new things. Very excited for what we have coming down the line. @34mph If you still have any questions after my last email please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Thank you to everyone for the amazing support and feedback. We look forward to a great future and helping to grow this awesome sport! Ski it up!
  18. I have been busy since my last comment on here and was informed that the thread has had a lot of traffic. Wow, they weren't joking! We at S Lines are beyond amazed and excited at how fast business has taken off. We knew it would grow but these first few months have been beyond expectation. We are grateful to be a part of some tournaments already and appreciative of the retailers that have taken on our ropes. We look forward to continued growth and more involvement in this sport at all levels. A quick confirmation on our pricing as we received a couple questions. All 3 types of our slalom ropes start at $70 for shortenings to 39.5' off (10.75meters) and go up $5 per shortening loop added. The long for these ropes if requested is added free of charge. Ground shipping in the continental US is free with purchases of $85 or more as it always has been. Thank you to all of our customers and test groups for your support. Very happy to see so many satisfied customers. We love all of the feedback we are receiving on the ropes so keep that coming! We want that continued input on how our ropes are working for you so we know where to improve and make the best rope possible. If we need to make a stiffer or softer rope we are going to do it for you. Thank you again and ski it up! S Lines
  19. @Mastercrafter I am making sure to get some sleep. Thankfully my wife makes sure I take care of myself. Have to stay well rested to keep making ropes. And yes we got out on the water yesterday. Took a minute to enjoy the warm weather. Making sure we take time to have fun skiing. @RAWSki We are beyond excited to provide ropes for the tournament and I am looking forward to coming down there. We love all of the posts on here and the feedback we are receiving. We keep collecting all of the information and data so we know what to work on and improve for the next generation of ropes. We are in the process of getting the right rubber for the handles and will have updates on those as information is available. Very excited for everything coming down the line!
  20. Awesome to hear from so many satisfied customers! @LK_skier in regards to S Lines ropes the R3 will have the least stretch. It's not as stiff as the HO or Radar but will definitely give you that good pull when you need it.
  21. @APB our lines are being used in some smaller class C tournaments. We would love to our lines used in some of the big tournaments but know that will take some time as more skiers try them. We look forward to that day and are ready! We hope you get to try one soon.
  22. The feedback on has been great. It does appear Jeff may have received a rope we did not properly stretch prior to measurement. TC's do seem to adjust ropes as need, our goal is that all of our ropes will be slightly short so that no adjusting is needed and ropes stay in tolerance the whole time. I would prefer to have to adjust a short rope opposed to making a long rope shorter. We will be doing more testing and if long term the ropes, mainline especially needs to be made shorter we will.
  23. We are very happy to see buyers satisfied! We expected this based on how the ropes did in testing but you never know for sure until the reach the consumer. We don't think anyone will be disappointed with a decision going with the S Series or Competition Series as both are good ropes and the R3 will appeal to skiers liking that stiffer line out of the box. @skierjp, We will tell any skier when in doubt to go with the competition series. It has a good stretch/stiffness balance that even heavy pullers didn't complain about a ton and won't make your elbows and shoulders too sore afterwards. @Horton There is a lot that goes into the rope/yarn decision but at the end of the day you are spot on. It's about it feeling right for the skiers.
