  1. Maybe some wakeboarders will be inspired to cross over from the dark side and try slalom skiing.
  2. If it is a Medaliion gateway system, check out the TRD Conversion Kit at skiboatpartsonline.com. Ron Tannis there is very helpful.
  3. Guys, Steve Schnitzer was teaching that 55-1ball technique 30 years ago. (It began with using the gates and 5 ball before we had 55s.)The sight line never changes for line length. Also works for your turn in for the gates. Example, for me, the 1 ball needs to be about the gate's width past the left gate bouy. In both cases the angles are aways the same. Oddly, I got away from this in 2016 and struggled for several years and just went back to it the last week with promising results. As for the wind, my above post works right in. For me it's all about eliminating the variables. Hopefully I'll get back to where I used to be.
  4. Good to see you bring this one back to life. I had Ski Supreme promos in the 80s. My 83 and 84 were great boats. Sharp looking, beautifully appointed, drove well. Best wakes in the business at that time, low, soft, no rooster tail. Downside, tiny trick wake, ha ha. Keep the pics coming.
  5. Someone a log time ago told me not to change my pullout. Change my set up instead. Set up a foot or so toward the wake for headwind, away for downwind.. Worked for me.

A 2006 or 7 with ZO conversion would be just as great.
  7. Back to the Kymaboat. Just wondering what the cost will be to upgrade to the Raptor Ford 6.2L RoushTurbo 575 engine. Imagine that thing in a traditional ski boat. 510 HP, 580 torque.
  8. Mr Obvious here. I think prelims are unnecessary, but slalom finals would be great. Up to you if you want to include trick and jump.
  9. Agree with @eleeski. Those wake line tricks were difficult and fun to watch. They also could do them with 2 skis back in the day too. Very impressive. I think BKistler was pretty good at those too. Just watch the old Ricky McCormick videos. For the future, can't wait til somebody does a toe flip.
  10. The company I had come to respect the the most for answering our needs in a 3 event tow boat recently, Mastercraft, is selling us out for their surf and wakeboard boat business. It's inevitable, we on the serious and recreational slalom side are destined for private ski sites. Just look at the rest of the world.
  11. It's a freedom thing, uniquely American. They are taking it away from us.

  13. Addendum, the boat companies, have sold us pure water skiers out for the big dollars. Now, they want our help. BS.
  14. This is crap. Back in the day AWSA had programs and information which helped us protect water ski waterway rights. Now, with USAWS we are lumped in with wakeboarding and wakesurfing, tubing, etc, and we are losing ground. Our association with the USOC has screwed us.
  15. Just my personal experience, but at 34mph and your weight and line length, go with any traditional width but longer, as you currently have. You may be just looking for some more giddyup. Find a 69 if you can. Some of of this depends on bindings. Hard shells or hybrids can accommodate a little bit wider skis. Rubber bindings work better with traditional or narrower width skis. Try both the 68 and 69 Senate. The Vapor is available in 69.
  16. Lake Santa Fe in Melrose. Lots of wakeboarding recreational towed activities there.
  17. So, why then are we still governed by something in which we will never be allowed to participate?
  18. Find out from your neighbor approximately where the 2 courses were located. Then make friend with a fisherman who can help you find the anchors with his fishfinder graph.
  19. I think the Shell Rotella 10w30 was the OE oil. All of the above are winners. Personal preference.
  20. My wife is not average in anything she sets out to do, and became a very accomplished boat driver. She is very good at all phases of boat driving and handling, not just pulling skiers. There was only 1 time I ever complained her about driving. (I was skiing and she didn't deserve it) That was the only time in our lives together she ever used a foul word.
  21. Ohh, don't need that image. Ive olyy known him the last couple of years. Ha!
  22. I think a lot of it is the rebound rate deteriorates. Haven't seen any measurement for that. @skialex was sort of on to that above.
  23. A summer ski friend had an earlier one, wood grain formica topped with carpet under your feet. Boy, could we make big spray with that one. Later I had a wooden one similar to the Connelly Hook. Very smooooth skiing.
  24. I tried that first on my 196, but it didn't solve the problem. Bite the bullet. Covert to the single puck Rev S upgrade and don't look back. You won't regret it.
