  1. Wow, thx @skiinxs. That's helpful. Why don't they put this information in the owner's manual? I'm unsure if it's an important feature, but it would be nice if they communicated their features somewhere.
  2. Thx @Jody_Seal and all for your help. I successfully mapped the jump course and everything worked as expected. I still don't know why the switch and speed control wasn't working during my last outing, but everything seems to be working now. I'm still unclear how RopeSW TIMEOUT works and it's purpose. Thx
  3. @Jody_Sealthx for the response. So, in this example, the system will only apply throttle (gas) for 1.8 seconds upon switch engagement? If so, this is not why my switch/system isn't engaging and providing throttle. Lastly, should RopeSW be set to zero? Thx for your help.
  4. What does "RopeSW TIMEOUT" do? Since it's small increments, I doubt it's the cause of my switch issue, but it would be good to know. Thx
  5. Thx for all your help. I just contacted ZO support, and they said I should see dollar signs $$$ when the switch is engaging. Apparently, this can be tested at the dock with the motor running by either pulling on the rope or using a paper clip across the contact points. I'll give this a try and we'll see what happens. I'll also map the course for good measure. I know it's not necessary, but I want it mapped for RTB and fast second.
  6. I'm hoping y'all can help with a Zero Off (Jump) issue. Problem - when in Jump mode, the switch is not engaging. The speed control may not be engaging either? This is a new issue, it worked the last time I used the boat at this lake. Boat and ZO - The boat is a repowered 2002 SN 196 with a 3-event ZO kit (software/firmware is current). Doug Moss did the work, so we know it's solid. Issue - I recently updated some settings, and now Jump mode isn't working correctly. My biggest issue is that the jump switch isn't engaging. I was poking around within the profile settings, which may have created the issue? I also mapped the slalom course, but I doubt that's related to this issue. Set up - The jump course isn't mapped, since I'm unsure if the boat path buoys are the correct distance up/down (North/South) course. Their distance perpendicular to the ramp is good. Solution - If a soft or hard system reset will solve the issue, I'm open to trying it. I didn't set up the system or install the system, so I don't know what config is required after a reset. Thx in advance for your help.
  7. Will someone please give Joel a ride to Start Haus in Truckee, CA. It's a proper alpine/downhill ski shop specializing in ski racing. One of the owners is a water skier, and I'm sure he'll replace those pipe clamps with alpine ski boot buckles. Despite the sponsorship opportunity, it's 2023 and there's no need for a Dewalt drill to get in and out of a boot.
  8. Congrats all, what a great event. The crew at California Ski Ranch is the best. Incredible lake and a great vibe.
  9. D3 Neo2 This ski rips. Turns well and has amazing cross-course speed.
  10. @Hucklefin I use a Ski Doc pylon mount with a moderate level of in-camera stabilization (aka HyperSmooth) and GoPro HERO11 Black or HERO10 Black. Camera stabilization is the key high-quality footage. It's a couple years old, but this video clearly demonstrates how well GoPro stabilization works - jump to time stamp 1:30. Note, as more stabilization is applied, the FOV (field of view) is reduced. Meaning, more stablization = more cropping. Which is why I don't apply the highest level of stabilization. As for pylon mounts, I prefer the Wakeye. Unfortunately, they aren't available anymore.
  11. That was a fun show to watch. Congrats all.
  12. @03RLXi There's no need to wait until ski season. Test it in your car and see how it works. Have fun.
  13. @BGrow76Yes. To activate the speed trigger command, you need to scan the QR code after powering on the camera. I bookmark the URL in my browser and scan it. It's really easy. Alternatively, you can print the QR code and scan it, which works better in direct sunlight.
  14. Hey @SlalomSteven I don't have anything new to report, but I did create a doc to help inform folks like you. There are a few critical settings that must be followed, like Screen Auto off, GPS, Repeat commend and Camera auto off. Also, you don't want to use "set date and time automatically", that's for another purpose. The data and time on your camera should be set automatically when paired to the GoPro Quik app, so you should be good. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Q9n76tuTqR5B3-KAaBUY0XBo1Qybe1d7HXowh9fCYQM/edit?usp=sharing
  15. I just went through this same experience. It's very confusing. The rule and cut-off date are extremely ambiguous, but I (too) qualified by skiing one score higher than the Level 8 cut-off. If you look at the national rankings list and poke around enough at others' scores, you'll see how skiers like me (mike maxson M4) qualify with a single score vs raising our averages above the cut-off. Congrats!
  16. I could watch this all day. Notice how he stands tall before the turn. I need to do that. How about you? What are you working on?

Did you notice how many GoPro cameras they have mounted on the boats? There seems to be a lot of redundancy this year. They don't want a repeat of 2022.
  18. GoPro Player is the best desktop software for viewing GoPro files on a PC or Mac. Quik for Desktop hasn't been supported for a couple of years. Like Horton said, if you remove your SD card from the camera and insert it into a USB-card reader, you can move the files onto your desktop. This is the easiest method since it's simple file management and doesn't launch a photos app or require your machine to recognize the camera.
  19. I'm lovin' this event. Quality skiing and amazing crashes. This young Badger combined all three events into one -
  20. @gcam4 congrats on your new camera. Zoom isn't available for all "Lenses."It's available for Linear and Wide (Narrow isn't available on H11, and isn't needed with Linear and zoom).
  21. +1 for Insta with poly lines. Make sure it's deep enough with no weeds. I can be done in weeds and shallow, but a pain. With a pontoon and normal conditions, we can drop in our pick up in 20-30 minutes. Pontoon makes everything so much better. We take ours out on the weekends too. Well worth it. 55s are a must, we only use one set of 2 anchors. No need to anchor the 55s separately. Buy extra buoy lines and parts, you'll need 'em. Most importantly, fill your turn balls with water or add extra weight beneath them. Otherwise 90% of the buoy is out of the water. Good for shinning practice, but dangerous if you're narrow or late.
  22. Thx @D3dude that's super helpful. I have noticed a big difference in the tracking of '96 MC vs newer tugs. Which explains why my daughter clips so many boat path buoys. @UWStoutSkier I'll have to dig into this. Could save me a lot of $$. PP is overly complicated, vs. ZO just works.
  23. @Mastercrafter thx for the info. I'll DM you to discuss further. We use the 2002 SN 196 here in California. The MC PS 190 is at our cabin in northern MN. Where in MN for a couple weeks a year, but not having ZO messes us up. It's good for my ego, but not my tournament scores.
  24. I'm curious if anyone has repowered a 1996 Mastercraft Pro Star 190? The end goal is Zero Off. The existing LT1 Corvette engine is great, but the pull with perfect pass is so different than ZO that I'm willing to replace the entire engine. The GOAT Doug Moss recently did a repower on my 2002 SN 196, and the end result is amazing. The 6 liter is incredible. So, I'm now thinking about doing the same for my '96 Mastercraft. Secondly, do y'all know a mechanic in the midwest (MN) that could do the repower? Thx Ballers
  25. @gcam4 I shot a couple sample clips with the HERO11. Since it's a new, larger sensor it'll take some testing to find the best zoom level. Below you'll see the Linear Lens at both zero zoom and full zoom (1.4x). Full zoom with the linear lens is too much, so it's clear that the narrow lens isn't needed. I did my best to generate slack and test the stabilization  H11B, 5.3k (16:9) ,60 FPS, HyperSmooth On, Linear Lens No Zoom28 off - https://gopro.com/v/Lv8WLgzeWbBMy32 off - https://gopro.com/v/Db2W41e19NXKE 1.4/100% Zoom (full zoom)28 off - https://gopro.com/v/eQkGmK2BDoXEk32 off - https://gopro.com/v/8vD4P7PO0qP4E
