  1. Another HRT fan, comfortable, easy, secure. Overall very pleased
  2. I had a fading screen on a 2013 TXi. I ended up replacing and "upgrading" to the single puck. There is a guy on ski-it-again selling kits. big advantage is they come pre-programmed.
  3. I am no expert but for me to avoid back pain while getting up with both feet in boots I have to let my knees compress tightly to my chest. If I try and push my feet and not compress I hurt. If I allow the compression to happen I get pulled up without back pain. That is the only thing that has reliably worked for me. For some reason it when I say go my brain says fight the boat but if I just relax and compress I'm much better off. Something to consider.

PTM all the way. There is or at least was a guy on Ski-it-again who sold them at a slight discount. worth it
  5. @Zman - thanks for the tip! I have seen those screws, I was hoping it would be simple, you just never know.
  6. @LeonL I am definitely going to find a hole saw with a center starting bit. thanks!
  7. thank you all for the advice. The upgrade kit should come in a few weeks. I'll order a hole saw of some kind. If nothing else the new head unit will be a big upgrade, if the pull is better, then that is just gravy.
  8. I think it should be fairly easy. I just was hoping someone had done it on a TXi and could give advice on how to remove the dash panel. I'm sure it isn't too complicated. Hopefully. I've also had a few surging issues with my dual puck set-up. Hopefully a single puck conversion helps that.
  9. I have a 2013 Response TXi. The zero-off head unit is fading in the heat and is difficult to read. I am going to replace it and do the single puck upgrade at the same time. Anyone have any experience changing out the head unit and with the single puck change on a response TXi? Any guidance on how to replace the head unit would be appreciated. Also, if anyone has guidance on drilling into gel coat to make the larger hole, I could definitely use some guidance. I searched and couldn't find anything. I also posted on Malibu Crew and so far no reply. Thanks!
  10. Summit Auto Transport does a great job. I have personally used them and they are the preferred transport service on a Land Cruiser forum I'm on. https://summitautotransport.com/#
  11. I also struggle with this. The "proud Chest" phrase helps a lot. I think the other thing I've been working on that helps me is to really try and get into a strong "stacked" position early after my turn so that when the load builds I'm in a strong position and don't get pulled over and break at the waist. The other big factor is confidence, the wake at 15off especially slower boat speeds can be a big mental hurdle especially on the offside. Confidence is a big factor. Trust the process.
  12. PTM! there is or at least was a guy on ski-it-again selling them at a slight discount.
  13. @skiinxs Thanks! Curious to understand how much impact that can have on cross course performance. Could a RFF skier still ski well on a LFF Denali? I'm sure the fin works to optimize the ski, I'm just curious how much impact it can have. thanks again!
  14. I struggle with my offside, as many do. There are several skis that are sold as LFF or RFF - Denali being one. Are these skis designed differently? Is there actually any significant difference side to side with these skis? I was wondering if they were designed to optimize onside and offside with a specific foot forward. Anyone have any insight into this? I realize that my poor technique and general lack of skill is the biggest limitation but it is always way more fun to blame your ski than yourself. Thanks!
  15. thanks for the photo, great to get that inn my mind. Definitely struggle with this, especially on my offside. more practice...
  16. I was anxiously awaiting input from @bananaron, now my day is complete.
  17. I think a good general rule in boat purchase is try before you buy. If you like the boat and wake, don't listen to anyone else.
  18. I have a 2013, overall a great boat. great wake, ZO, no complaints. I believe in 15 or 16 the engine got moved forward a few inches and maybe it tracks better. I don't have any issues.
  19. PTM is the way to go. There is a guy on Ski it again selling them at a slight discount, new. Similar to the ebay price.
  20. Performance ski - sponsor of this site and gives a baller discount. I just bought a blacktec top from them, quick and easy.
  21. Grassroots should be at every tournament except for maybe regionals/nationals. Great way to increase exposure, allow less experienced skiers to gain experience and grow the sport at the competitive level.
  22. just ordered a camaro blacktec from @mike_mapple! Great service, BOS discount and very happy with the top!
  23. @Tracks72 the grassroots participants generally start the tournament (at least in my limited experience). You get 4 passes, if you miss getting up, they will come back for you. If you crash they will pick you up unless it is on your last pass. There really isn't a great setup for coaching on the boat but if there are multiple rounds you do get to go again. There are going to be many good skiers and some may watch you and I'm sure you could get some tips. Plus watching good skiers live alone can be very helpful. As far as finding tournaments, there is a website that shows all sanctioned tournaments, I can't recall exactly what site it is.
  24. I had the opportunity to participate in the grassroots part of a tournament this past weekend. What a great experience! I am a terrible skier, I can occasionally make a pass at 28/15 but the community and event were great. Very supportive, helpful and it was a great experience. I'd encourage anyone who has the chance, regardless of level/skill or prior experience to give it a try! I'll definitely do it again.
  25. Anyone have any comments on protection/rib padding? I've been interested in Stokes evo2 but they seem to be out everywhere
