  1. i'd say don't forget the mid 90s Malibu's.
  2. @xraydoc if you haven't tried www.themalibucrew.com you might find a better audience there. I am assuming you are looking at an OEM rack vs. an aftermarket one? I think I saw some racks in the classifieds, but not sure if they will fit your tower or not.
  3. I don't know on ballpark (Ill see if I can remember to take a look the next time I see some shorter jumpers). I did this on a set of snow skis for the kids, saw it on a snow forum. Tear off a little steel wool, and push it down a bit in the hole with a tooth pick, then fill with epoxy (JBW). The steel wool gives future screws a bit more purchase. I would bet if you chatted with D3 online, they would do you a solid and tell you their DFT. I was chatting with them about some jumpers, ended up going with stokes, and they were still very gracious after I told them about my direction. I was on an email chain with T Whisper... very cool experience.
  4. Check your battery connections. I had something similar recently. Key on, all gauges worked, fuel pump did its thing, turned the key everything dead. Took me a bit, but tightened the connections and have been all set since.
  5. @sedge, there are probably cheap Toyota Epic molds hanging out behind a barn somewhere you could get for cheap. (nice meeting you this past weekend!)
  6. I'm an OK slalom skier and made the switch 3 years ago. It took a bit to get used to, but I don't even think about it now. I moved to the reflex and RTP (Connelly Sync RTP) because of an unrelated ankle injury, I wouldn't go back. I really like that it will release in a lot more fall cases than when I would come out of my double boot. That would have prevented me getting stitches in my eye lid quite a few years ago... I have yet to have an early release on it.
  7. @MI3Eventer. It has been almost 20 years since it has been used, but I think I might still have most of the parts for an InstaSlalom in my cottage garage. It was used about a half a dozen times, DNR caught wind of it after the jet skiers found it, and I didn't take the time to try to get a permit for it. If you want, I can try to dig it up. IIRC, everything (minus bouys) is there and working.
  8. @ETskier the only one I know of is on Silver , a bit south and west of Traverse, maybe 10 minutes. I skied it a few years ago. It sits in a nice protected cove. I think there is public launch there. @Hofftoski I’m up there every 2-3 weekends and hopefully for a couple of full weeks, maybe 2 full weeks in August. I have an older LSV that skis pretty well. PM me if you are interested in connecting, or grabbing a barley pop at the Dockside or Shorts!
  9. Most of us that are down state consider “up north” anything north of Cadillac.
  10. We are on Bellaire. No course, but during the week it is skiable until noon. A few years ago there was a course on Elk, but I don’t think it is there.
  11. I’ve been chatting with Liz and Alan at Forest Lake. We don’t have anything set in stone, but I’d be up for “sharing” sets or figuring out a day/night to head down. I’ll only be jumping, but I’d bet we could make something work for slalom as well. PM me if you want to try to coordinate something. Thanks!!!
  12. No kidding, it’s pretty awesome.
  13. @Deanoski Im not even sure how to get a hold of Ron. Last I heard/read he had a big backlog and the website isn’t even registered. I’m pulling the trigger on some Stokes on Monday. D3 responded fast and bounced some questions off Freddy. that experience was great, which made the decision more difficult. I’m West MI, and most people are on D3s, and I’ve seen a few Goodmans around. If I can, I’ll see about swapping some skis around and throw some feedback on here. My gut was telling me Stokes, and Tom called me on a Sat afternoon to tell me about their skis and story, which was pretty awesome.
  14. @Horton Thanks! @Cooper_Trelawney - I think there might be some additional show ski manufacturers, but for 3 event jump, i believe that’s it…
  15. I’m getting ready to buy a set of jumpers. I’m leaning one way, but I’d like to get some input if someone has information that would help. If anyone has thoughts, they would definitely be appreciated!!! Thanks all.
