  1. Bring back the enthusiam and you will bring back boat sales. Probably, but price are an issue, sorry. New boats are out of budget for the middle class, period. Every year it's becoming more and more difficult to be part of the sport, no wonder why they sell so few boats...
  2. If it's confirmed, it's a sad news for waterski world. I truly don't understand the direction where the boat manufacturers are heading with those overpriced new boats, with uneccessary upgrade of engine power and way too much electronics. All of this is making the life of the ski school all over the world miserable and challenging, if you don't want to kill your costumers and respect them. I feel sad for my sport, and i feel bad to be part of the few and only remaining. I don't see a lot of pro skiers complaining about the situation of their sport, as they don't wanted to loose their sponsorship. In Europe, almost every ski school keep their old boat and change their engines when they need to. It clearly a sign that something is going wrong. To read that only 50 new Malibu boats where sold worldwide is shocking and not surprising, and i am not talking about the quality and the skiability of the boat witch is fine. This sport need to be bigger and decisions has to be made, but who gets the gutts to do it? People tells me waterski is not for everybody. Indeed, but it should be accessible for more people than now. Inflation and cost of products are not valid excuses. The reality is that folks are greedy and wanted to keep they margins. They even win more by doing their wake barge than a classic 3 event boat. Everybody has to make his part! By the way it's cool to see, per example, Freddie winter on an instagram recent video being towed by an old mastercraft and still having fun behind it. Only thing who is important if you still wanted to do tournament is zero off, the rest is just bullshit and killing the sport we all love.
  3. Horton, what's your numbers on the LP2? I get my hands on one 66", this summer but didn't take the time to properly try it...
  4. Hello, i saw on ballofspray some pictures of a tournament, punta cana pro something. Where is the tournament held, catalina ski lake place of pigozzi or really in punta cana? It's so strange to find no mention of the tournament here. Somebody have some infos? videos, scores?
  5. I am waiting for that too. Right foot forward, right palm up, but it's work so fine for him...
  6. As a coach, when you are in boat all day with turning islands, on short lake, it is very hard not to be sick with the centrifuge force on the observer seat. Best place is on the driver seat, inside of the curve. So if i can choose no turning island for me. More fun to ski, but off course your lake need to be long enough...
  7. I agree, John. If his back leaves him alone and his mindset is strong, let's see what this new ski brings him for the season!
  8. For me, Mastercraft till 2012 are better overall boats. After 2013, the new hull destroyed completely the tricks wake, who was the better in the industry for years! The new Mastercraft has now the smallest wake town...So, if you are only a slalom skier, go for the new one
  9. Hi luzz, i get an email from brad Miller of Wahoodocks. They are talking on their video of a low cost solution, not really, 1475 us dollars without the anchoring and the shipping cost, per meter, for the small section of 36 inches... bummer and impossible for a ski school. If you have a better solution?
  10. Many thanks Luzz for the link. Wahoo waves system is exactly what i need for the place i am looking for!
  11. Hi ballers, i am looking for advices and references on products for a flotable system to reduce backwash, on one side of an open lake, for a new project. What's the best options when you can't use tires on site, like Beaurech or gravon, in France per example? Thanks for infos and links!
  12. Make life better? Not sure as everything correct craft touch became pricy like hell...
  13. why valensin ski ranch close?
  14. Super nice competition and webcast indeed. But am i the only one to notice that it was only 1300-1400 viewers worldwide, even for the final? How can that be, what's the federations and the IWSF are doing to promote the sport, and show to people what's the best you can do on water? This sport becoming more and more, for multiple reasons, a sport for the happy few too. It's kind of sad...we are really far from the coors light tour on tv...
  15. Rawski and jayski, thanks for the info. Too bad it's seems so hard to organize something there, the region looks awesome, lots of things to do...but the priority is still to get good conditions of waterski in the winter...
  16. Hello ballers, as a belgian waterski coach, i am always looking for vacation waterski trips for my members here in belgium, in the middle of the winter. I saw on google maps a waterski lake with a boat, close to the mayan watersport complex. I saw also a discussion title on this subject long time ago, here. Impossible to have a contact person or a email adress to organize something. Some of you guys get some info on the place? It's still a boat running on the lake and who is operating it, or the thing is shut down...
  17. Sans rivals guys where dreaming about this years ago... i am not so sure as a waterski coach that all high end skis are for everybody. When you have poor technique, a softer ski, less agressive ski, might help you a lot more, but it's personal thinking, and maybe it's more affordable too...
