  1. So many hurdles to hop through! As someone who has a private ski lake (definitely not as nice as what is being submitted here) it is a long process and one that costs millions. Hope it all works as it would be an awesome addition to cache valley.
  2. Is my lot reserved? Are you taking a down payments yet?
  3. @owennibley & @Such_a_brett I like where this is going! Keep pushing Shupe to get back to cache valley! :).
  4. This was taken Saturday about 10 am and about 10 minutes from where the lake is purposed. The water here is usually glassy but murky! Cannot see the bottom and around 5-12 feet in most area so it keeps bigger boats off and only allows the skiers and jet skiers. Course is set up there as wel makes for a great spot but having a cleaner lake with a house on it and beaches for kids adds a lot of value for someone like me with a young growing water sports family.
  5. @Such_a_brett Im surprised and stoked this is moving forward! Keep it up. I'd like to get some information on lots specifically surrounding the water ski lake. Regulations for boating times, personal boat vs. club boat. Are you looking for more investors as well? Feel free to send me an email or call as well. I'd love to discuss this in further a little more. Thanks, Clay.
  6. I think it sounds appealing to some. Unfortunately not me, but I don’t like being tied down or on a schedule. That is why I own my own prostar (yes I’m a skier) and will ski at benson, cutler, Glendale, or my personal lake. I’m one person though. I think the club idea is awesome and I would happily donate to get this started in cache valley. I thinking slalom is fantastic spot and I applauded those who still do it! Course is a must! I hope it works! It’s a huge dream and it you pull it off that’s a HUUUUGE accomplishment. Good luck and hope it works out for you. Make skiing great again!
  7. As a current resident of cache valley who has been here for years and has their own private lake in the valley. I look forward to watching this unfold. I think the idea is great however... cache valley is a very hard market. Especially when you have abundant lakes around from cutler, Hyrum, benson, newton, twin lakes, Glendale etc. etc. I don't know if the demand is going to be there. We have two owners in our lake and a few people that pay a rate VERY VERY less than what you are asking to use it. I think the idea is great and it would be a great addition to the valley if you can get it to work. The season is very short up here (as im sure you know) and the die hards that want to ski still can ski glass because we get up early (before work) or when its cold. It would be amazing and if it happens I would love to come check it out! I know a couple other private lakes that sell memberships (weekday memberships, weekend memberships before 10 etc. etc.) that could possible keep your monthly fee down to supplement those types of add ons around the valley. Interested to hear where this is going or purposed. Only place I can think of would be north of the city dump between benson and young ward and west of 10th west. The mosquitos off the bear are terrible!
  8. Two boats at a time... isn’t this now defeating the purpose of having a private lake?
  9. @Such_a_brett That is awesome you won't have problems or have to deal with army corp of engineers. We hired most of the construction, but permits etc. I look forward to hearing the process! Good luck.
  10. Having gone through the process of building a personal ski lake in northern Utah it is a difficult process. State approval was the easy part... county approval not bad...Army core of engineers---good luck. It was a very difficult process with a lot of hoops to hop through, however it seems like you may have already started the process with your first post. Now if you are just paying someone to do it all for you... may not be that bad of gig. we are not developers so... there was a lot of learning happening during the process. There are certainly things we think we would have done different but it is still a lot of fun. I worry that your depth will not be deep enough, i was under the impression for a good wave for surfing you had to have a minimum of 20'. The shoreline will most like get destroyed especially if it is going to be the sand that you talk of bringing in. Our shoreline is very thick clay and it is has its ledges from a Mastercraft Prostar. I am not an avid surfer or wake boarder so take that information as a grain of salt. I am a skier... our lake was built to ski and get the family out learning to ski and enjoy. The safety of a personal lake is amazing and love taking my family out there. We do get some wakeboarders out there and they seem to have a good time, I could get exact dimension of our lake if you need it or it would be helpful. Our lake is 7-14 (deep end is where the dam is). We have water shares so that during the hot months we can let water in... let water out etc. There are a couple people in the valley that would probably be more than happy to explain the process. May be worth looking into. I'd like to know where you are looking at doing this.
