  1. Have her ride a bike and tell her to stand up on the pedals. Whatever pedal she puts forward to stand up on the bike is that same as what foot she skis with.
  2. I burn through a pair of gloves in about 3 mounts during ski season. I have tried multiple gloves including the expensive Masterline curve gloves (Suppose to be very durable according to Masterline). I concluded that they are all nearly the same in terms of wear. The best gloves are the cheapest gloves because they all suck and they all wear out quickly for me. https://www.ebay.com/itm/HO-Sports-41-water-ski-Tail-Glove-Mens/202328301986?hash=item2f1bb4e1a2:m:mHK1-dybjivCRyzxJkfOuWg This link^ has 41 tail gloves for $28. They are currently out of stock of larger sizes, but keep an eye on it and they come back into stock.
  3. My girlfriend just switched to a Syndicate Omni (65 inch) and loves it. The ski combined with a syndicate hard shell gained her 13 buoys almost instantly in the course. Her old ski was a CX with a Vmax binding and was not a good setup. I attribute her gains mostly to the hard shell, but the ski made a huge difference too. Overall, I very happy with the Omni and would recommend it to anyone who is not running 22 off consistently. Ski is very stable and confidence inspiring. The hard shell also makes a huge difference in giving her the confidence to ski more aggressive without fear of getting hurt. She struggled in the past with ankle injury due to the vmax binding not releasing and overall being junk. @radtad whatever ski you get, a hard shell is a must and is 100% worth the money. I know hard shells are expensive, but they are cheaper than hospital bills and missing work because of an injury. Hope this helps!
  4. I agree with @thager, there is no such thing as what you are wanting. With that being said, I have skied behind a Mastercraft 214v and it was surprisingly good for free skiing when there are few people in the boat. I would not classify the 214v as a real ski boat and would never expect it be be like a prostar to ski behind. But, it is still a solid boat for cruising, tubing, and having fun free skiing behind.
  5. @Davismp1 I am currently in the same situation as your daughter. I am looking for a place to ski for this upcoming summer (May 2020). I have been looking for a place to ski for a while, and there is not much up there. Glacial lake Water ski club seems to be the only close ski lake: http://www.wakescout.com/directory/north-america/united-states/michigan/levering/853/glacial-lake-waterski-club Elk lake has a course on it, I am still trying to find a ski nut that lives there and is willing to take me out to ski. I will be attending summer tournaments and skiing with MSU in Lansing as much as I can. My phone is 586-770-4066, feel free to keep in touch and hopefully we can find a skiing solution!
  6. I work in a bike shop and deal with aluminum parts stuck in things all the time. A proper penetrating fluid, a little bit of heat, and time will get anything out. Don't use WD-40, its a cleaner, not a penetrate like PB blaster or deep creep. Spray it everyday for a week and try it again.
  7. That sounds decent. I would say $600 is fair but is not a steal at that price. Better prices can be found online or on ski it again. What size ski are you getting? What bindings are you getting for the $600?
  8. @jhughes if you don't want to go back and forth about expenses daily on BOS, why would you make a thread about expenses lmfao :D
  9. Feel free to contact me: Jake Markusic (586)-770-4066 Go Green!
  10. Hi Ballers, My name is Jake and I am a Senior at MSU and ski for the MSU Water Ski Team. I just found out I will be working as a summer intern at an insurance company in downtown Traverse City. I am looking for a place to live for the summer and a place to ski. I figured it would be sweet to live with another ski addict and ski everyday! Just though I would post this to see if anyone knew any possible options. Housing: Looking to lease May 1st - Sept 1st 2020 and will live anywhere near TC. Want to spend $600 or less per month. A room in a house would be great, but I could easily live in a garage, loft, in a ski boat (preferably not a Malibu), or anywhere you would put me to sleep! Will work to earn my keep, more than happy to help clean the boat and run to get boat gas! I am gone at ski tournaments on the weekends, so I would only be in house mon- fri. Lot: If someone had a piece of land/ big backyard with an electrical hook-up and would rent cheap, I would consider buying a old camper and parking it there for the summer. Ski Buddy: If you know anyone who would let me come take some sets with them, let me know!!!!!! I need to dial in my 32 off!!! Mountain Bike Buddy: I also mountain biker and am a bike mechanic. So if you want to ride or need you bike fixed, let me know!!
  11. I have heard of people putting copper sulfate into the water and having great results. Not good for the environment I would assume, but it works. In Michigan, they used to treat the public waters by plane with copper sulfate. Witch Hazel works to treat it if you already have it. Good luck!
  12. Anybody have big feet and fit into a reflex hard shell? According to reflex, I should fit into a size 12 boot with a thin XXL Liner. Can anybody confirm this? Should I just get a Syndicate Hard shell in size 13-14 and not mess with reflex? Also, if anybody is selling a RFF XL Hard shell, let me know. Thanks!
  13. I would stay in Allendale, that's where Grand Valley State University is and it a super nice town. Allendale is the perfect midpoint because it's 20 mins away from downtown grand rapids, and 20 mins away from west shore ski club.
  14. If you know anyone that has any ski boat and would be willing to pull a few collegiate skiers along the pictured rocks shoreline please let me know! I would be more than happy to pay them for boat rental. If you know any skiers in Munising MI please give them my info! I plan on going July 12th. Jake Markusic 586-770-4066
  15. @Horton Do you think that the whisper fin is $300 better? For the 32 off or less skier, you can buy a good amount of coaching for that money. Being a collage skier myself, I can get a few days at a ski school for $300. If you were me, where would you put your money?
