  1. Should post this over on Correctcraftfan. Those guys rebuild old boats and have done everything you are talking about. They love hearing about any old ski tug living a second life.
  2. Joel is such a good example that the tool is not the limiting factor for 99% of us. Shoot he said he would forget and put his slalom ski on wrong foot forward, and then change in the middle of a set so he wouldn’t get yelled at.
  3. @Horton Thanks for posting all these links. I see that my work days are going to be unproductive in the afternoons. I’m excited to start watching skiing again.
  4. @eleeski The hole I drilled in the bottom of the boat was quite successful at softening the slalom wake of the old Mastercraft but it sucked air into the propwash - so a different effect. I must admit I am thoroughly confused, and more than a little curious about this part. Perhaps I am missing nuance or sarcasm. Either way I want see it if it’s real.
  5. Hard to see because of the chop on the water but course got installed this weekend. First time to be in before tax day. It’s going to be a good year
  6. @escmanaze I am close to your weight 195#. I tried a 67 Vapor and a 68, and I found that the 68 was right at what I needed for my slow broken stack position I get in from time to time. @ 30 mph I can run no problem. It gets better as I speed up although I dont 😅
  7. @DvarianDan Johnson Interesting. I didn’t notice bad audio from Michael. I’m certain I don’t entirely agree with his notion on cost of entry, but I’m encouraged that he is promoting ski days and learning days.
  8. Ice out a week or two ago. Water still in the 30s. Heres my boy like winter never happened
  9. Needs some work. Customize as needed. Perfect for your personal slalom tug😂
  10. Seems like the real-time chatter can get carried away if there’s controversy. People hit send in the, passion of the moment, type of thing. I do enjoy commenting on what’s happening, but I don’t do the popular” socials” because of trashy comments and the constant desire to dunk on people. I would hate to see a de-evolution here from that sort of comments.
  11. I think this could be wildly entertaining. Might end up needing a moderator if/ when someone gets off on a safesport or such talk.
  12. My 15 year old boy went from 23 mph to running 32 15 and taking shots at 34 last summer. He wants to be running 36 this summer. My 12 year old boy wants to make his first pass. he was got 5 last year at 21 15. I am going to take them to a ski school for a couple days in March. The where is yet TBD, but somewhere I can get some sets too.
  13. @swbcaI for one like what your doing. I wish I had a project to keep me engaged in skiing while it’s cold but no snow on the ground. I have often wondered if I could modify some of my old skis to fit my kids who are 60 -100 lbs lighter than me. Keep it up.
  14. Sounds like dry British humor to me, but I did poorly in English!
  15. @Horton Just think at 14 is when the nudist shows up. What will 15 bring😂
  16. My Christmas is full of hope. I hope for a short spring and a long summer. Still looking at a long 3-4 months till I ski on water.
  17. I have a 409 in my 2000 ski. My buddy and I have talked about what it would take to upgrade the cam to bump up the HP. Not that it’s needed, but……
  18. I’m guessing no one spoke up because metric is almost a foreign language here I the US. 160 cm or 5’3” and 61kg or 135 lbs is right in the size range. The only reason to go down is if you’re having trouble turning or controlling the ski I n my opinion. There are those that have way more knowledge than I do so hopefully they will speak up.
  19. I feel like someone should give me a panda for watch that video. Im at a loss.
  20. @03RLXi heat mold with a hair dryer. Used an old one of my wife’s. Smells like burning plastic, but the boots feel like your favorite tennis shoe when done.
  21. I’m so glad to have skiing available. TWBC is amazing. The broadcast this weekend was amazing. Brian carried the show and I don’t think I’m alone in saying Rob can have the mic anytime.
  22. @lpskier I guess what I appreciate about Joel is what he is doing is so different than conventional knowledge. I realize many of the top skiers are innovating in their own ways.
