  1. A week at ski school would be a great investment. Many things to adress - take it from a 30mph 15off hack!
  2. What a difference 2 weeks makes - last time I skied in a snow storm, corneas hurt for 3 days! Today water up to 52 at HT, 55 air.
  3. Posts some vids so those better than me can critique your skiing
  4. @Horton But I read it on the internet!!
  5. @Mearlybetter get a set of mugs as well ...
  6. Go buy a portable air horn. I believe they meet the requirement and you can actually hear one in an emergency
  7. @eleeski don't give the Adams any ideas!!
  8. Here are several pics of my glove project. Gloves used listed in earlier post. I removed the original nylon cuff and glued on a wrist drysuit seal. 100% waterproof and WARM now. No problem having hands in the water between passes. The black bag is an anesthesia bag, available on line. I use 1L for the gloves, 2L for drysuit repair. Three way valve found at hardware store, just inflate by mouth. Pic shows aquaseal, Gearaid makes Seam Grip which is thinner and easier to work with. Shop for the 8 oz tubes, store in freezer for future use. I use electrical tape on the seam overnite to hold repair in place. Roughen all surfaces with sandpaper before glueing. Ready to use after 24 hrs cure.
  9. Posted on PlanetNautique this week - now all you need is the hull. https://www.planetnautique.com/vb5/forum/nautique-topics/official-correct-craft-news/watershed-innovations/674381-ingenity-launches-mcrate
  10. If you don't need alot of room and bells & whistles, the Malibu Sportster is a fine ski boat and handles like a sports car. Both my buddies have one - a '98 and '01. Lots of free skiing and fine in the course as well. Great for barefooting.
  11. Help us spend your hard earned money - what's your budget? AND welcome to BOS!!
  12. Ok time to resurrect this thread for 2024. Had a lovely "snow ski" at Hilltop this morning. Water down to 45, air 35 and big snow flakes doing LASIK on my corneas. Sometimes I question the wisdom of my winter ski friends - but as my wise old ski pal Bruce says, "WE SKIED AND SOMEBODY ELSE DIDN'T!"
  13. @swc5150 Like the Seattle Boat Show having a Nautique 200 as the one and only example of a ski tug this year.
  14. There's a '98 196 over on Planet Nautique for 18k. Listed with PP/stargazer. Not in your years listed but could at least be a "quick fix" until you score a newer deal!
  15. @wski1831Another post worthy of an "awesome" button! Sounds like a fantastic day!! Makes me miss our Wed Night Crew trips at Bow Lake
  16. Saturday was a petty good day at Hilltop; no ski Sunday, lots of wind & rain. Very pleased to have made it out 5 times in February when my only ski window is on Sat/Sun.
  17. @ESPNSkierOnce again I am looking for the awesome button but still can't find one - but I will be anxiously watching your progress. I assume you are doing some type of training/PT program to get your sternum/chest muscles healthy again. The more you do, the quicker & healthier you will ski.
  18. @Adam Caldwellyikes, that brought me back to college physics and I feel my brain oozing out of my ears like it did 40 years ago!!
  19. @jjackkrashmy buddy's a diiver and he brought out a pair of thin lycra socks to try. Even with soap could not get my heel to slide down. I thought they would be the fix. It's llike the rough texture of the Animals grabs anything but soapy skin. Maybe if the latex ones won't release from the binding once the soap is out, I could wear the lycras and they would release from the latex.
  20. @Gale K I have a pair; years ago I tried them in my HO Extremes - slid in great with soap but after skiing could not get the ski off! But that was a different binding. I will try them in my animals and report back next weekend.
  21. February has been kind to me this year. 91 at HT today (45A 46W); rain held off till we were wiping the boat down. Ski you all next weekend! I have decided I tolerate cold water better than cold air. I tried the Sharkskin socks this weekend - couldn't get them to slide into my Animals even with rear laces all the way loose. My search for warmer feet continues.
  22. Wondering if a nub could make it harder to get your hand back smoothly on the handle?
  23. Beautiful morning at Hilltop. 35A 46W. Ski you all tomorrow!
