  1. I don’t understand why so many companies are not building their top level skis in a 69”. It sure limits us big guys in ski selection.
  2. I’m curious of who on here has developed ski sites, i.e., TBS, Swiss Slalom, Radar Lake, etc. Our local lake is overrun with constant surfing and it seems to me that the only option to remedy is going private. What do you typically look for as far as acreage amounts, how to acquire water, plans, etc. Anyone have any input on selling lots around the lake and doing the lakehouse/course club type arrangements? Do they workout or is it constant problems? Is there any profit involved or is it a money losing venture? Just curious on who might have some relevant details and experience.
  3. I’m looking for a short setting for my senate pro. It tends to want to run a long smooth arc but I want it to turn a bit sharper and quicker. Fin setting is stock and I’m running the carbitex vapor boot one hole closer to the tail from center. I guess maybe I should start with going back to center on that. Any recommendations on fin change?
  4. I’m traveling from our frigid Idaho winter to Dallas in February to attend a Supercross race on Feb. 16 and visit friends/family. We’ll likely fly in a few days before and stay for a couple days after. I bought a new ski right before the end of summer and I’ve only had 2 sets on it so I thought maybe I’d fly the new stick down with me and hopefully get out on it if the weather permits. I know February weather in Dallas isn’t dream weather for a local but I’ll be escaping the frozen tundra here and I’d ski in pretty terrible water and weather just to get on the ski at that time of year. I know the map on here shows a few sites near West Lake, where I’ll be staying, and around Dallas, so I thought I’d put the feelers out before I go through the expense of buying a travel case and all that to travel with the ski. Anybody skiing around there in February still?
  5. The Camp Chef that has pellet and propane is probably your best option for what you need. For a pellet grill to sear a steak it takes a long time to get that hot, so using the propane is the quickest for that. Then you still have the smoker option for killer ribs, brisket, etc., when you have the time for it. To get a smoker that gets hot enough to truly sear a steak you need to spend $1,000-ish to get the quality to do that.
  6. I'm currently trying out a 2018 Vapor Pro Build, 69.5" and the 19 Senate Pro, 69" (I'm 6 ft, 230 lbs., 34 mph). I've been on both of them twice (coming off an 18 Syndicate Omni) and LOVE them both. Love, as in, I can't decide which one to keep. I thought that the Omni was smooth on the water until I rode both of these skis, and especially the Senate. It rides like a dream on the water. It seems to have the perfect center of gravity, for lack of a better term. I just like exactly where it sits as you're skiing. What I felt like though, was that the Pro Build seemed to turn a little better, while the Senate was smoother and went through the wake SO well. I'm thinking I'd like to keep the Senate (due to its smoothness) if I can get it to turn like the Pro Build. Does anyone have any updated settings for it? Chris Rossi/Brooks Wilson? The Radar site only has the stock setting thus far. Maybe a short/deep setting or just short? I might be good on depth right now, and I'm wondering about boot placement changes. Would one hole shorter from the stock setting on the boots give me a little tighter/quicker turn? Also, thanks to Radar for taking care of us big guys. All these other companies are leaving the big guys by the wayside on high end skis. Apparently they're the only ones who care to help us get new pb's.
