  1. Most people I've seen do it the same both ways. As you said, in skiing, the front foot dominates turning. In surfing, however, you push the back foot around to "skid" across the wave. Almost like drifting a car.
  2. at this point i would take a.. dare i say it.. wakeboard boat!

I read the "electric tow boat" forum a while back and then did a report on self-driving cars. Got me thinking-will we ever have a self-driving tow boat? Maybe on a track? Seems like it could help equalize the tournaments a little bit, since that's what a lot of focus is on. Is there such a thing already? Get on it MC and SN!
  4. @oldjeep its currently 50 degrees and pouring in San Diego. San Diego!!!
  5. I feel like my account is accidentally just a panda-farming account.
  6. I seriously did not understand that and I took it seriously. Haha!
  7. So Reflex has this product called the SkiFoil. You've probably seen it on the left, within the ads. A footnote on the ad says "Elevate your skiing!". How can they make this claim? What is it about the SkiFoil that will "elevate" your skiing? Is it just to improve trick skiing? p.s. I understand false advertising and that that could be a possibility. I'm asking about actual ways it can help.
  8. @packski yes i think so. perfski.com has em
  9. @eleeski what is the address? Looking for you on Gmaps.
  10. Cool! Thanks! Maybe sometime. That would be awesome. Maybe not.... we don't have that much spare time.
  11. I have a similar question. What about first person view? i.e ski mount, head mount, etc. What would you recommend for a gopro hero 3? That's what I have. It just seems like better quality video.
  12. There are courses in (mission bay), San Vicente Reservoir(really pretty, go there someday for leisure skiing), Imperial Lakes(normal skiing), and probably all around other lakes. But clubs are hard to find. The main reason is because we don't have a boat (hole in the water in which money falls), so I am looking for a club. Mission bay is almost definitely the best option. However, for a day trip to a different place, I don't have a place.
  13. Any good ski spots near San Diego-up to maybe LA and east to Imperial Lakes? Memberships for those places? Boats? Any info is awesome. West Coast Best Coast.
  14. My second cousin, a skiing partner when we're in the area, snapped his Achilles nearly the same way a while back. He's still having trouble skiing. Good luck - we're all rooting for you!
  15. Not a recommendation, but I am not a very good skier. My cousin is, and he has a Graviton. (2015?) I tried it for the first time. Struggled getting up, but it was pretty easy to improve. I would recommend it.
  16. ok thanks. How do we get our numbers from meters in America?
  17. How do the two ways of scoring differ(41 off vs 10.25 meters)? How do you convert them?
  18. So my friend's family has a boat and he pretty much only wakeboards and kneeboards. He's pretty good, but doesn't do any tricks or anything. The boat is a hybrid ski/wake boat so there is a good wake for both. However, he wants to try skiing and I only have a 65'' TRA. He's never tried skiing, but is quite good at getting up on the wakeboard. My friend is very small - 5'0, 65 lbs maybe? Do you think it will be easy for him to get up on the ski? Anything I can do to help him? We are starting on open water.
  19. also, whats the (skiing) diff between the 50th Prostar and the '19 Prostar? Is there one?
  20. Have never seen one, but my cousin has a 50th anniversary - 13th of 50 - and have skied behind it. BEAUTIFUL boat.
