    New Boat Day!

    Beautiful boat!!! Congratulations!
  2. I was lucky enough to have jpwhit complete our screen repair. I can't say enough about how helpful he is! He's terrific!
  3. Our floater has the PVC tubes that extend out to each turn buoy. From there the rope is about 6' up to the surface. You could affix a sub buoys to that line. Of course you would also have the sub buoys at the boat path lines too.
  4. We pull the buoys and drop the course. However, a different situation for you. How about adding some small sub buoys half way down the line? Just enough to hold it a foot or two below the surface. We also use sub buoys on another course that's not a floater. Then, we only have to go down a few feet in the spring and avoid all the sediment at the bottom.
  5. Sadly, also winterized the boats.... Get well Ron, think how good next year will be. Horton, super jealous of the weather you have!
  6. As Jordan posted these are definitely custom boat builders ....and yes, you can definitely get a windshield if you'd like one. Ron, you should come up and test drive one. If you do come up, pm me and we can take you out for a ski behind our Prostar. They are less than an hour away. The J's are clearly not a tournament ski boat. However, with the Perfect Pass, they are definitely a sports car for the water and can still pull you through the course, barefoot all day or blast around at high speed.
  7. You are absolutely right bananaron, the new ones are much better built. Check out some of the many YouTube videos they have now put out. You can even see some of the factory tours. I seem to recall one of the reasons they went to the 21' length was due to less stringent flotation requirements.i think they have 2 fins as well. Note, they do have have some with mini transoms as an option to put your ski on. Also massive amounts of options to build your boat are available. If you get one, be sure to share pics....and good luck! Note, still love our ProStar and Nautique 197, Yet the new J's would also be a blast.
  8. Hey Ron, I've seen the boats at the shows and they look amazing! My son just bought an old 17' and the boat is fantastic, with no wake at all. The new ones would be fantastic! We have a Prostar, and Nautique 196 and would also love a J.
  9. Wishing you the Very Best and sending lots of positive vibes and prayers your way!!! Good luck! Be safe! Take care.
  10. Noted, that is a few hours for sure.
  11. How many hours were on the boat?
  12. It's great that you provided the perspective that you are comparing the wake to your old J Craft. That wake was and is in a completely different zone. However, the Response still provides a fantastic wake for skiing the course or simply free skiing. As others have said, avoid the 22 off sets. Especially if you're just getting back into things, go with 15 off to start and get your form back, most importantly staying on edge throughout the wake. Then, maybe skip to 28 off. Enjoy, it's a great boat.
  13. Thank you so much Ray. My biggest issue at this point is getting to the actual underside of the cleat. I was hoping to be able to simply reach up from underneath. However, it's far too tight and I suspect I will have to remove some interior panels. Curious if anyone had some experience in how to remove the panels without causing any damage.
  14. With the recent purchase of our 2004 Ski Nautique, I noticed that the Starboard rear cleat is loose. My initial thought was to remove the panel section with the grab handles and speaker. However, as I started into that process, it seemed that there may be a better way. Any insight or words of wisdom is appreciated.
  15. Thank you for sharing. Always sad to hear that sort of news.
  16. Great stuff! Love the carbon fibre detail work you have on the dash.
  17. Congratulations! Looks fantastic!
  18. I refer to my obsession for looking at boats as Boat Porn. Allows me to always be honest at what I'm looking at......
  19. Looking forward to the big reveal!
  20. Thank you rockdog and MISkier. I think I will stick with the PP ZBox install then. That will be over the next couple of weeks.
  21. That's an interesting comment about ZO. It has the Excalibur 330 engine. The speed control was not included, so I just ordered the Perfect Pass Stargazer with ZBox. Was ZO an option for me?
  22. Having always read terrific posts about the 196 here on BOS, I thought it would be a fantastic boat. The initial test drive was impressive. Now I want to really clean it up before we start using it. Really excited to have it!
