Mine is about 3 years old and no issues with the screw anchor. I do need to regularly check the actual screws as they seem to work themselves loose, but not the anchors. 250lbs and ski a 69 Carbon V.

@Sethro ... Mate I am a keen skier and not scared of the cold but I am not brave enough for sub 50F water... I loved my Radar 41Tails gloves but trying to move away from Velcro straps, however if the Boa K gloves are a more relaxed fit I might be able to get my shovels into them. @morfoot Glad to hear you love them - seems I may need to give them a go...as I need gloves to keep the skin on my hands.

@Broussard , these are the '22 Blue/black versions. @Horton thanks, good to hear they softened up when wet. Personally I like tight gloves so if they ease up once wet and "wear in" after a ski or 2 then maybe they will be ok.

@MDB1056 yea they are pricey but I am happy to pay for quality that lasts, my 41-tails did me well so happy to invest in good gear. Unfortunately I am too old for leery colours and cannot see myself in bright yellow Connelly Claw gloves even if I do ski a Connelly Carbon V... Thanks @dchristman appreciate that, had not thought of the wire coming loose, and considering how hard they are to put on this is could be an issue.

Yep I tore my calf muscle pretty badly when wiping out over the front. Foot remained in the binding and the tip of the ski hit me on the forehead.... Went to Physio for about 6 weeks but could only just walk, no running no Skiing. Was able to ski again gently after about 6 weeks, but only fully recovered after about 8 -10 weeks and even then was pretty weak and I needed to work on it a lot to regain a similar strength. Been about 4 years now and it is still not at the same strength as my right calf but I can do everything I want no issues.

Has anyone worn the Radar Boa Engineer glove for a few sets yet? I bought a pair this weekend and due to our lockdowns in Melbourne Australia had to buy online and get them delivered, but I am not impressed...yet.. They are incredibly tight, the fingers seem too small and too short and takes a lot of grip strength just to close my hand around the handle so will get very tiring very quickly. My hope is that once they have been wet and had a few runs that they will stretch a little and feel better so if anyone has worn them, can you give me some feedback? Once I have pulled the tags off and got them wet I obviously cant take them back...and I don't want to throw a $160 pair of gloves in the bin. I have worn out my Radar 41-Tails (XL), so thought I would buy a nice pair of gloves for the start of our season. I found the Velcro on the straps seems to come loose and flap around and is very irritating so I liked the idea of the Boa Engineer which has no Velcro Strap. The Vapor Boa K was also on my list, as is another pair of 41-Tails so if I return these then I am back to Velcro straps but at least they may fit better. According to the Radar size chart my hand is a Med - not sure what they were smoking when they did the size chart... Based on my last pair I ordered the XL which are the largest size but they are very tight and require a lot of effort get them on. Keen to hear if anyone has worn the Boa Engineer gloves for a few sets and if they "wore in" ok? Cheers Mark

@Riverside I am a little taller and 15kgs heavier but 10 years younger and ski at 36.. If you can, give the Connelly V a try I have the 69 Carbon V and love it. The Carbon Omni was also on my shortlist.

@freerange What is your main goal for this boat? Besides slalom what else, how many people, do you have a family, where are you planning to use it, etc. your boat choice will differ from first boat for a single guy who slaloms on the Murray, to a family that may want to do other stuff like wakeboarding and cruising larger body's of water? Unfortunately due to our relatively small market there is not a lot of R&D dollars available to our local boat builders so much of the innovation is driven by the US boat builders. A used Mastercraft / Nautique or Malibu will have more bang for buck than some new locally built boats. The locally made Malibu Response is a great boat but very popular and because of this I think they are over priced for what you get on the 2nd hand market. Having spoken to the owner at Matrix boats in SA, and having skied behind them I would highly recommend Matrix. I have skied behind a Rolco Nirvana and it has a very flat wake and good boats but small inside. My ski buddy has one and it is our preference for the early morning boys ski session- great boat for slalom and barefoot. Made in Melbourne and the owner/builder is a great bloke. Give them a call as he can most likely build to your specs and price...(2020 models on boatsales for less than $40K) - will not survive Sydney Harbour.. Spy boats are ok but not in your price range, and while the Skicraft Senator looks great It seems to have a good wake for wakeboarding... Finally try to hold off untill end of season when more boats become available and prices cool off, unless you are buying new of course.

Thanks Guys, @skimtb , we have purchased 4 High Bay 100W LED lights with 2ea on a separate switch, as these will hang from the 2 roof beams. Not sure if I will need more but will see what it looks like when up. Roof also has clear sections to let light in during the day. Also thought of using a Kayak winch to hang vests etc directly from the boat and hoist up when done. As for stereo.. I have our old home cinema set up going in the man cave / bar, 55 inch TV screen, 1000w 5.1 amp, sub and Bose Cube speakers on the walls. Have also arranged for some pallet racking to run along the wall next to the boat, so I can step out the boat onto the shelving, hang the skis on a rack, and hang the inflatables to dry. Will be running power this weekend, and starting to line the walls with Plywood and insulation. Floor coating is on and drying.. Wallet is significantly lighter......

@BlueSki I like your thinking, especially having the beer fridge close to hand!! Also had not thought of the ceiling fan, great idea!!!

@oldjeep , Yep this is my version.... 10 x 8m ( 33 x 26ft) just big enough for the boat, skis, toys and the beer fridge's, oh and a TV for the sport, a few couches, and sound system... I want to have the simplest way to unpack from the boat onto ski racks, and hang the vests, wetsuits etc. Just has a quick search and seen some previous posts as well... some great ideas!

When it is too cold to ski downunder, we race tinnies...
