I skied with the Ole Miss club from 87-90 and I do not recall them going to any of the tournaments that we went to during that time period.

I still wakeboard but I am too old to push it hard. I can push my slalom ski really hard, and can take a barefoot fall, but no way at 50 I am going to really push my limits to try and advance on a wakeboard anymore. Only trips the ER with the kids were also wakeboarding. Catching air on a wakeboard sure is fun, but it has got to be the most dangerous of all our flavors of watersports.

We have had years of quantitative easing and monetary policy that has kept the rates of financing charged to banks at historic lows, with our government pushing banks to lend, but not on mortgages. Easy money and terms help prices grow. Now the FED is talking about reducing rates again. I work in higher ed -- Same thing -- every-time the government raises loan limits and drops interest rates, we all respond by increasing our tuition costs. Money lent for cars, truck, RVs, boats is a bubble similar to the housing bubble, but it should not crash the economy if it pops like housing did.

We decided as a famiky to have an Amazon free Christmas this year other than hitting Whole Foods for some selected groceries. Nothing political or preachy here, just somethingwe decided to do. We will use them again and I will check out the link younposted.

Collegiate fishing is kicking our butts. Non- collegiate fishing tournaments are kicking our butts too. And you can get our the door from Bass Pro Shop with a brand new boat and trailer that you can enter a tournament with for less then $20K. No lake restrictions. You can tow it behind your crappy mini-SUV. You can also spend more than a new Prostar for a new boat too. Believe me, it brings me no pleasure to admit that more people want to compete fishing than skiing. But that is what I see around me.

I am 50 and woukd love to go over a ramp again. If you have the opportunity go for it.
