  1. It's not my place to set that kind of expectation on someone. Someone asked a question and I answered. You can be upset all you want and that is okay. I should have kept this to myself, but with all the talk in this thread about it not being possible I at least wanted to put it out there that I have watched a skier go around 6 buoys at 43 off. I was skiing with some friends. The gentleman ran up the line through 41 at 36. We figured he would either be done or run it back. He asked for us to cut the rope and slow the boat down. We sat back and watched with zero expectation and 6 buoys later the 3 of us in the boat were asking each other what the hell just happened. The driver is a rated driver. The site is "L" capable. I am not saying the boat path would have passed. I have no freaking clue because my head was just going side to side with pure amazement. It was a spur of the moment thing that somehow happened.
  2. @B_S I’m not sure it’s my place to do that.
  3. I have watched 43 been run from the boat at 34 mph.
  4. In early December I did a two-day trip to The Boarding School with my 4-year-old. He still skis on a trainer ski and Travis accommodates his needs very well. I usually make 2-4 trips there a year by myself and can't recommend it enough. There is always something going on worth watching or talking about. We don't wakeboard but enjoy the boat rides watching some of the great boarders that train there. The house being 100 feet away from the dock allows for easy bathroom breaks, snack time, and the much-needed nap times as well. It is truly a magical place for memories to be made. I have considered trying some other places just for fun but have been apprehensive due to the idle time created by not having a house to rest and relax between sets.
  5. @brooks do you guys have a demo program? Thanks
  6. My backseats were 2500 if I remember correctly. I have a white and red set I’d love to sell.
  7. I am rather new to the sport and was always so confused why guys weren’t crushing 41 every time, because they all make 39 basically look easy. Recently watched an attempt at 36/41 from in the boat. It flat out looks 100% impossible. I was blown away in the difference from 39 to 41. Truly unbelievable.
  8. Just skied the new boat. Best set I’ve ever had. I haven’t been able to get around 2 ball at 36/32 all year. Never ran it in my life. Ran it first try behind the boat. Boat felt so great. I didn’t drive but I talked to the two different drivers and they said there is a large improvement. The screen seems to be extremely user friendly. The wake seemed slightly different, but still fantastic. Potentially better. Hard to say after 1 set. It seemed as they have fixed or improved everything anyone has been upset about.
  9. Is the 4th tracking fin equivalent to the 4th axle on the monster wakeboat trailers? On a serious note. Boy this thing looks nice. I don’t use the additional “cooling” fan on my 14 and have never had a problem. Surprised by everyone still using it. Also never felt the need for more gas storage, but maybe for tournament and school use it will help? Is the hull completely different? Can we expect a better wake? I mean I don’t understand how it gets any better than the existing, but had to ask. Great job mastercraft!!!
  10. Price seems to be rather similar, I’m amazed.
  11. Get the families involved! I only started skiing 4 years ago and I’m 27 years old. My wife is just starting to ski a bit. We have an 18 month old. I bought a camper specifically so the whole family could tag along to tournaments and get out of the heat and stay comfortable. I knew she wouldn’t come for the day if we couldn’t keep our son comfortable. This summer she wants to attempt some grassroots skiing, so I believe it’s working. My parents (non skiers) have started to tag a long for some tournaments also. Also, I love that nationals is close to a beach! I get to ski, she gets her beach vacation. It’s a win win! Maybe more night tournaments, that is an absolute blast! I love tournaments and plan on trying to be apart of them as long as possible. Since there is usually only 2 or 3 competitors in my age group. I usually just pick the person with the closes average as mine in the group and try to beat them. So some handicapped scoring style tournaments would be neat also!
  12. @vtjc I don’t know to be honest. I am a 36mph skier on a 1800' lake here in Indiana and it seems to be more than fine. I frequently ski behind a couple small motor 200s and it seems comparable. Our friend weighs about 210 pounds and also skies 36 and again it seems fine.
  13. Yes, I apologize. 5.7 motor, and one hour west of Indianapolis.
  14. Would anyone with an older 196 converted to zero off or even just a cheaper zero off boat be interested in trading for a prostar? As a young adult, I am just trying to reduce some debt. -705 hours -No carpet/bow seats -Does have new upholstery and rear seats 1 season ago. -Dealer maintenance -Used on private lake and pulled out of the water after every use. Wiped down of course. -Great shape
  15. @Dacon62 I believe my brother and I are headed to Radar lake next spring and I am overly excited about that trip. Ski trips are the best trips.
  16. @Than_Bogan I would pay a large sum of money to be able to ride on a ski through 39. I just wanna know what that feels like. It’s gotta be hardcore.
  17. I am hearing a lot of people trying to focus on technique, which I do as well. I have to admit after running a strong good pass. I have no clue exactly what all I did right. This sport is the weirdest thing I have ever done, but my gosh it is the absolute best. We did purchase a pylon camera mount, which was some good feedback this year. My brother and I started skiing together 3-4 years ago and it is an absolute blast to have a ski partner going after it just as hard.
  18. @BrennanKMN yes, the weather in the midwest this spring kept us from ever feeling like we were going to ski. It just kept on raining and raining and raining. It was a long spring, but have been lucky with a long fall. Still no wetsuits yet.
  19. @jimski that sounds like a lot of fun this season!! @lpskier 300 sets?!? That is a ton. I’m exhausted after 130. @Lars I fought and am still fighting 28s a bit. I feel like my problem was too much speed into the balls. I struggle understanding and comprehending a good edge change. Was really good at making a bunch of slack.
  20. Hello there, Due to a lack of skiing discussions I am getting rather bored. I would love to hear about everyone’s season. Is it going well? If so, what do you think caused the great season? If it wasn’t so great what were the reasons? Did you find a new place to ski, or were you able to get more water time? Did you find a new ski you absolutely love? Just lay out all the juicy details of your season for me! I guess I’ll start! -up to 130 sets this year, last year was 112. Overly excited, but not ready for the season to come to an end. -found an additional lake to ski at with great wind protection, so that has been awesome. Also put a floating course in at my home lake and it seems to be working well. -started course skiing behind my 14’ prostar after owning it for a year and only freeskiing it. Absolutely love the boat and with 700 hours now seems to have a lot of life left in it. -switched to a reflex this season. Absolutely love it. I feel safe and just enjoy every aspect of the set up. -upgraded a 16’ vapor lithium to an 18” vapor pro build. I believe I practice PB’d first time out on it. One month in I kinda went through a slump, but now that I’ve been on it for 3 months I don’t think I could ask for anymore out of the ski. -first year really trying to ski tournaments and man are they fun. I only competed in one “one rounder” and skied right up to my pb so was overly happy with that. I believe I improved my tournament pb by 6 buoys from last year. Felt like I became more apart of our local ski community due to my tournament attendance. Really hoping to ski at regionals and nationals next year if my schedule allows for it. -it has been a blast watching some new ideas and theories come out to the market this year with skis and fins. Would love to try them all just for fun. -finally broke through the -28 barrier and having some luck at 32. I would love to start crushing 32s next year, but I believe that is a tall ask. It has been a great season and I am ready to get some offseason coaching for more things to work on next year. I would love to hear any kind of feedback from all of you guys! I hope you guys have a great rest of the season!
  21. I started skiing the course at a club with a provided 200, absolutely loved the boat. Started skiing tournaments and getting behind an MC and wasn’t in love. I bought a 14’ and joined another club that I take it to. Now we ski about 125 sets a year behind a combination of both the 200 and my prostar. My brother and I have both really enjoyed my prostar more and more every set. It is an absolutely fantastic boat.
  22. This was fantastic. It is hard to find enough skiing content to keep me occupied throughout the week. Love seeing extra stuff.
  23. @OldGuysRule haha that’s funny. That is where our setup was. My brother and I are members there.
