  1. Should work, will just have to drill out some of the plastic/nylon on the back holes and should work. Have two Connelly skis with sets of radar vector boots with feather frames and haven't had an issue.
  2. Have an 06 prostar 197 that needs a little vinyl work on engine cover and back platform area. Going to have a local shop look at the boat and get a price. But I have seen some boats in the past for sale that had an extra set of skins. Does anyone know of somewhere that has the pattern for the boat and I could just order a new set of skins and ship them to me? Was just curious if it could be a cost effective route to go instead of trying to match vinyl. Edit: Also if I go with the custom route I may go with different pattern to eliminate so many seams in vinyl. If anyone has pictures of interiors that were reupholstered would be helpful. Thanks
  3. This sounds awesome! Wife and I went to Italy this past December for 12 days and on plane ride home we decided we are definitely going back to Italy. It has been a weekly topic of the amazing food we had, sounds awesome to get insight on local places to tour and nothing better than skiing
  4. +1 for the outback if a good price. Have not skied behind a 2012 model, but had a 2000 outback and it was a nice simple boat. Wake was really nice and actually miss it after going to a MC 197. I liked the more maintenance free interior of the moomba. sure the MC interior will look nicer, but more seams for pattern in the vinyl is not always a good thing in regards to repair. So with that said outback over the x9.
  5. Here is a video with some close up views of his boot set up on the gtr fwiw. Towards middle and end of video.
  6. @Shell sorry, fat finger while scrolling. Awesome boat!
  7. @Spatch17 I don't know anything about this lake or course other than it's there, but there is one just north of the west bound road scale at North Platte or due west of Fremont slough state wildlife area just north of i-80, looks like there is a jump there also. Might be worth a shot looking into or talking to them if you want to find some course time. @lpskier that is interesting you have had multiple conversations about skiing in Nebraska lately. For the little amount of water this state has hopefully the sport is getting a little more popular in this state. I see very few waterskiing, but I am not on any private lakes. Sorry, not trying to get off thread topic.
  8. @DangerBoy I just got it in the mail today a medium (8-9) sync front binding. So I have not skied with it yet, tried the boot on dry. I am also a 9.5 shoe size. I was really debating on size. I would suggest going to size large (10-11). In fact @Connelly_Skis_Inc recommended i go with large, but I could not pass up the deal I got on this boot. It is pretty tight and wish it was a large, so will have to see how it goes. Hopefully i can break it in a little for a little more toe space. Can use laces to tighten up as needed for size large boots.
  9. @2Valve thanks for the info on the laces, bummer this happens but way better than eyelets in boot breaking. I see you don't like any stretch in laces but have you ever tried bungie laces for top section? Ordered a front sync binding last week and excited to try it out soon!
  10. @2Valve thanks for the info on the laces, bummer this happens but way better than eyelets in boot breaking. I see you don't like any stretch in laces but have you ever tried bungie laces for top section? Ordered a front sync binding last week and excited to try it out soon!
  11. Same problems on the vectors. Have blown out three front boots and two rear boots from from various years. Ripped out right at the seam like yours. Got one pair replaced under warranty. I like their products and have been wanting to go to the profile or vapor but I keep holding off hoping that one of these years the new boots will no longer have the rubber on the back of boot. I have yet to ski these bindings, but i modified a pair that was out of warranty.
  12. Does anyone have experience with using a wakeshaper on a prostar 197? Ordered a suction cup handle over winter to make one. after getting boat out this summer and starting to figure out the configuration I realized there is no flat spot big enough for the suction cup (size of suction cups i think is 4.5" circles) with the raised lettering of the prostar word and the rest of the space is curved too much or too small of area. If I go in front of the prostar lettering I'm getting pretty far away from the back corner and not sure how that would work. Any suggestions other that sticking velcro on the boat? I've seen some little 2" suction handles but not sure about those.
  13. Had a 2000 moomba outback. First inboard we had so wake was great coming from an i/o. Great boat, simple vinyl stitching in seats so never a problem. After upgrading to 06 Mc prostar 197 we were even more impressed with the wake of that outback. Not much difference imo. Both had same indmar engine, the moomba wasn't as efficient because of aftermarket carburetor versus efi. Sold moomba in 2013 or 14 with 190 hours never any issues with a boat that had low hours.
  14. @Monkstr6100 thanks for the update, going to try this fix on mine in a week or two. Boat still hasn't made it out of storage for the year.
  15. @Monkstr6100 wondering if you were able to open up gauge and seal it up? I've had the same issue for 3 years on an 06 and not really wanting to dish out $800 for an upgrade even though it would be nice.
  16. I mostly free skiing but enjoy the opportunities i have in a public course. Where I ski, on a given weekend there may be one other DD boat on the lake. A couple v drives and the rest are i/o. 90% of the boaters are tubing all day...and the ski course is like a magnet for the jet skis. When we do ski It's amazing how long the other boats stop and watch (my skiing is nothing marvelous), granted my location is not ideal for a lot of water sports. But it is sad how I never see anyone else skiing like ever and once in a while I see a wakeboarder. So with that said, from my perspective I don't think the sport will die but I dont think it's growing. The only skiers are the ones who grew up skiing and their families. It is good to see that the state university added a ski club in the last 3 years.
  17. I would suggest a 2011 or newer F250 w/ the 6.7L power stroke diesel. Those engines are pretty sweet. I would also recommend looking into an f350. For the longest time you could find them cheaper or same price and may be easier to find one with 8 foot bed that is a crew cab. The f350 should support camper and tongue weight even better and I don't think there is much difference in mpg. Yes the fords are pry a little more pricey than the dodge/ ram(whenever they changed names) but there's a reason for that IMO. I do not have any experience with 3/4 and 1 ton pickups that are gas burners.
  18. Mostly the 2013 Ford F-150 with 3.5L ecoboost - pulls like a dream. Or a 2016 Ford F-350 with 6.7L power stroke diesel - don't even know the prostar 197 is back there. Usually have to travel 2+ hours one way to find decent skiing water.
  19. Being from Nebraska and being a husker fan my whole life this was awesome to see!! the whole state here was rooting for UCF! There is definitely a lot of excitement around our football program again, so I wish Frost luck and hopefully the fans will be patient. Excited to hopefully have a good football team to keep up with volleyball team haha!
  20. Still looking for a 66" rs-1? I have one in great shape.
