  1. I have been wrestling with this since 2016. The Boatmate trailers are made of good quality, but there engineering of the support bunks stinks. Boatmate never returns phone calls because they know the problem and do not have a solution for it. Installing a center keel roller does not help. The trailer is at the bottom of the ramp, and the boat is at water level. The keel and roller never come in contact with each other. I have had my spray chines repaired twice already. Here is what I found that seems to work. Float the boat off the trailer. Immerse the trailer about 2 inches below the fenders. Float the boat on as far forward as possible. Install the winch strap to hold the boat and pull the trailer forward until the top of the fenders are 2 inches out of the water. Then power the boat the rest of the way to the crash pad or bow stop. Trying to winch the boat to the bow stop is impossible. This method raises the boat to the trailer, without dragging the chines over the bunks. So far this method seems to be working.
  2. I have a 2002 Ski 196 with a GT 40 Motor. It keeps tripping the 15 amp breaker. When it does trip, the motor will not start. It turns over but will not fire up. When I reset the breaker, the boat will run a short time, and once the breaker trips, it shuts down. Anyone experience this problem?
  3. Unless you are launching on a very slight angle launch, the roller does not work. On a steep ramp, the boat is at water lever whereas the trailer is on the bottom of the launch. how can the roller possibly work, to keep the chines off of the bunks. I know this from experience; I have the roller, and it does not work. Dan
  4. Did you ever try to crank the boat into the crash Pad? Almost impossible. We had to do it last week because the boat would not start.(That's another issue). I pulled so hard on the winch handle, That I thought it was going to break. We had to keep backing into the water and crank a little bit more and we finally got the boat all the way on the trailer. Did this procedure about 3 times before we were successful. The Boatmate trailer is built of good quality, but the load and unloading is of poor design. Especially with the winch mounted on the boat side of the crash pad. When I spoke to Boatmate about my situation, they told me that their design was approved by Correct Craft. If that is the case, Correct Craft have some dandy engineers.
  5. Thanks to all of you for your input.
  6. It was never reworked. I hate to purchase another prop only to find the same situation. That is why I was thinking of another size prop. It is my understanding that the 668 is a .150 cup while all others are.100 or .125. Please understand that on a normal pull, it does not vibrate. Thanks for your input. It makes a lot of sense to me.
  7. I have a 2016 Ski 200 with the 6.2 liter engine. It came with a 668 ACME. I notice a little vibration on a very hard pull with a heavy skier. However it does smooth out when on plain. Is this normal, or would a different prop eliminate the vibration. Shaft alignment was done and everything else was checked out at the dealer. My friend has the 343 engine with a 422 and that boat runs very smooth.
  8. I will be selling my HO 69" Omni Carbon ski. it is 2 years old.No bindings. Make me an offer. Dan
  9. I know it is to deep; but we have no choice. It is either loading this way or tearing up the spray chines
  10. I can't seem to load the video. That tells it all
  11. This is what happenes when we float it on and off. If we don’t sink the trailer in that far then we tear up the spray chines
  12. Yes, my winch is mounted on the boat side of the crash Pad. When floating the boat on the trailer, the nose of the boat is below the crash pad. I will be posting a video if I can figure out how to do it.
  13. I also tried floating the boat on and off the trailer. The first time I used the trailer, the bow of the boat came down and smashed into the winch, and broke the winch cover and chipped the gel coat. Then we tried floating the boat on the trailer. the nose of the boat comes in below the winch. I have the crash pad set up. Floating on and off saves the spray chines, but does not work with the crash pads. For years I used Ramlin Trailers. Never had any type of trouble. So simple on and off. Hook up the turnbuckle and pull out. I wish they would start up again.
  14. That picture is from a Ski Pro trailer. It has a completely different bunk arrangement. That has 4 bunks. The regular ski 200 trailer has 6 bunks. I had the 4 bunk trailer with a roller. Yes the roller was good for trailering and an almost level launch ramp. The roller does not work on steeper ramps. That is when all the damage is done. So I sold my Ski Pro 200 trailer and bought another boatmate with the 6 bunk arrangement. The only difference now is that the spray chine is being destroyed in a different area.
  15. Yes I have tried the roller. You can adjust the roller to keep the chines off of the carpeted bunks while towing; but when launching and loading, the roller is not in contact with the boat. Again, it depends on the steepness of the ramp. Our ramp is 20 degrees; most ramps are at 12 degrees. Remember, the trailer does not float; It is on the bottom of the lake/ramp, and the boat is floating level, how could the roller be effective? They are to far apart. There is no contact between the roller and the boat.
  16. I know about the center roller. It does not work, and here is why. The trailer lies on the bottom of the ramp and the boat is floating level. Depending on the steepness of the ramp, determines how far apart the center roller is from the keel of the boat. Remember, the boat is level and the trailer is on the same angle as the ramp.
  17. I have a Ski Nautique 200 with a Boatmate trailer. My spray chines are all torn apart from loading and unloading. Is there a better option out there for a trailer? We don't have the luxury of a boat lift; subsequently we trailer the boat to and from the lake at least 1-2 times a week. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.
  18. Where is the best place to get a dry suit repaired? I need new seals; neck, arm and ankle. Thanks; Dan
  19. I have an F1 but just the blank. I think it is a 69.
  20. I tried that handle. Did not like it. Randy's had a better grip. I think he used a softer rubber. The master line was very slippery. But thanks for the reply.
  21. Does anyone know about Randy from US Gear Handles? His website is off. Did he sell the business? If so, who took over? I need some new handles. Randy's handles were the best. Dan
  22. Wiley's are an asset to the sport. Their service is spot on.
  23. that is the plan, if I do not sell the trailer
  24. I have one. How much is a used one worth? Mine is a pro ski model. 2018. Cannot use on a steep ramp. I need pole guides. I have the short guides behind the wheels. I can PM pics
