  1. @YoKo No worries. Good to hear peoples experiences etc. Thanks for everyone's opinions, with the high end vs mid range ski choice. From what I've taken from people's comments, it's worth to demo a few skis before buying I reckon.
  2. Guys, I've heard experienced high level skiers online talk about, 'Try to ski on the highest end ski you can afford, not to suit ski ability level'. With only a few years experience myself, I've always thought it's best to ski on a ski to suit ability level. A little more width and weight on a ski will give you more stability and control if your technique isn't quite up to scratch. Right or Wrong!??? Be great to hear everyone's thought's. Thanks in advanced.
  3. @Clydesdale, Thanks for the info. I agree, won't know until you demo a few. I'd like a stable ski which performs well. If my body position or technique aren't great, need a ski which would help me out. Hence why I'm leaning towards a higher end ski with more width. Some guys say, to ride a high end ski if you have the $$$, as rather than a ski which suits your ability level.
  4. Very interested to hearing people's views and feedback on the 2021 HO Omega Max. I currently ski on 2016 Senate Graphite and would like to upgrade my ski. Skiing 30/32mph 16m. Hard to say, but what Senate line would you compare the Omega Max too? Pro? Lithium? Omega Max looks a great ski for a more reasonable price. Thanks in advance
  5. Thanks for the feed back guys, looking forward to the next learning curve.
  6. @Dacon62 Thanks for the link. I've checked this out today and did a few measurements without changing any settings to make sure I'm getting the same measurements from Radar. Just want to use stock settings, to check it now and again to make sure the setting's haven't changed. As you've said, it's not hard to check and adjust. A few YouTube videos help too.
  7. From what everyone's saying, I think it's time to purchase a caliper measuring tool and learn how to set my ski or any new ski in fact to stock settings. Thanks guys
  8. @jjackkrash, totally understand where your coming from. I want to learn ski setup and tinker. I can reach out to high end skiers to help me. I just wanted to see if there's particular higher end ski's which take less technical ability. Cheers
  9. @Horton, thanks for the tip. Can you recommend a high end ski which is easier and takes less technical ability to ski on? Cheers
  10. What's the easiest high end ski straight out of the box for an intermediate course level skier. Only ski a set a week maybe two on a rare occasion. As I don't have too much time on the water each week. I'd rather not tinker with fin/wing settings and boot placement. Currently skiing on a 2016 Radar Senate Graphite since new. Max speed 34mph. Be great to hear what peoples opinions are........ Cheers guys
  11. Guys, Interested to know what people think of this setup for your rear binding? Anyone ski with one? Currently skiing with a Radar Profile binding front and HO fixed rtp. Have always been intrigued to try a more of a fixed hybrid rear binding. Looks super comfy, flexible, supportive and will let your foot move around inside. Any reviews/feed back would be awesome. Thanks in advance.
  12. @jhughes I'm wondering the same thing. My biggest query is, why isn't Whitney McClintock-Rini running on a senate pro if that's made or 34mph?!!!
  13. You paying top $$$ for senate pro, when you can buy so called higher end skis for cheaper. What would be the advantages of a pro over say Omega, GT-R, D3, KD Platinum? Any feed back would be great.
  14. Thanks @Windsurfnut and @Gasmanscott for your experiences and advice. I've bought a set of combo Vortex in the end. I'm in Australia, so the boy will be on the lake hopefully next month.
  15. I'm looking to get my son (6, average height) a set of combo skis. He's currently skiing on something similar to a HO Hot Shot Training ski 46". I'd liked to get him a set with a RTP for when he'll try slalom. I want him to feel safe and confident. We both only ski a set a week and want him to enjoy it as much as possible, but still want him to keep improving slowly. My question is....... What size combo set should I be looking into getting? Or an alternate? Someone suggested the O'Brien Jnr Vortex combos 54"? All advice and recommendations would be great. Thanks!
