  1. I know this is a ski forum, but the Michigan bill is bad for anyone who uses a boat for water sports. Anyone who thinks otherwise or that this will end surf boats is kidding themselves. The language doesn’t need to be changed the legislation needs to be killed.
  2. 67. You’d probably be better on a 67 senate over a 68 vapor. lf you’re skiing the course I’d go with the Pro, it’s definitely an upgrade over the lithium and all the other builds seem more designed for open water.
  3. I’m about 190 and ski 22-28 off at 32 mph. I’m on a Senate Pro and it is an awesome ski. I’m a radar fanboy and I’ve had 3 lithium versions of Vapors and 2 versions of the senate in the last 8 years. My skiing has been much more consistent on the Senate than any version of the Vapor, If you’re skiing 32 mph or less you shouldn’t be on a Vapor Pro. The Senate Pro is a high end course ski with just a touch more stability than the Vapor, it’s capable well into short line.
  4. My 11 year old son has a radar TRA and loves it, he’s learning to run the course in it.
  5. I have skied a number of these boats. If you are comparing it to a 196 in tracking, wake, and fit and finish, the 196 is better in all areas. They are a little roomier than the 196. You can usually find them cheaper than a Nautique of the same vintage. One other thing that might not matter to some people, but if you don’t put a turn down exhaust on them they are LOUD. We have a few on our lake and when people ski with them early in the morning they are considerably louder than the Nautiques and MasterCrafts.
  6. The canopy you are looking for is $870-1800 depending on the material at https://www.boatliftanddock.com/productgroup/183/shoremaster-canopy-covers-all-sizes-4-materials The $2400-4000 you’re being quoted is robbery, even in Loonies.
  7. I have a baggy O’Neill Boost suit, it has multiple leaks, mostly around the area where the suspenders attach. Really frustrating as the suit has probably been used less than 20 times and it’s about 3 or 4 years old. It started leaking at less than 2 years old. I’ve tried patching it and it can’t get stop the leaks. Any suggestions?
  8. @lpskier we just use a 2 foot long piece of PVC with caps on the ends and zip tie it to the PVC arm. We also have trainer bouys for the kids, so if we have those on the pvc doesn’t sag at all. We used to drop the course on the weekends on our lake, but have left it up all summer the last 2 years. We lose a few balls here and there, and occasionally someone snags the mainline with an anchor and we have to pull it straight, but that only happens maybe twice a year. The course has been on our small public lake for 20+ years so everyone is used to having it there and so no one usually messes with it.
  9. It looks fun, it also looks a lot different than skiing behind a boat. I’d give it a try. Are there even any sites for cable skiing in the US?
  10. They still seem smarter than bass fishermen.
  11. The bubble butt SN is a great boat, that would get my vote. Those wakes are butter.
  12. Do you have the rudder tab adjusted properly? If those screws loosen up it will go to center and will be tough to keep straight because there’s no resistance against it.
  13. Radar Boa K inside out, simply the best gloves. I used to go thru 2 pair of gloves a season - 41 tails were my go to. These gloves last 2 seasons, and they are comfortable and the boa is awesome to tighten them up after they stretch a little on the first pass.
  14. You want a high end ski to ski at slow speeds get a senate pro. It’s just a touch wider than the vapor with the same core and layup. A vapor will sink at slow speeds, the senate will ride higher in the water and be easier to run passes. I’ve heard of guys running senate pros deep into 38 at 34 mph, I ski one at 22-28 off at 32 mph.
  15. These dudes are animals, my back hurts just watching that.
  16. On a related item, a while ago the neutral button on mine stopped working. I really don’t ever have a reason to rev it up in neutral, but I don’t have the ability to do it anymore. It makes a weird nose but doesn’t stay in neutral when I push it. Has anyone ever replaced that neutral button on, it’s a 2015 200
  17. What speeds is everyone at for learning the course? My son is on a TRA, and I’m trying to dial in the right speed, I’m thinking 21-22 but want to see what others have done. He’s 10 and about 60 lbs.
  18. Go on boa’s website, they’ll send you a replacement Boa assembly for free, had this happen a few years ago. The Boa dial is IP1, make sure you know whether it is left or right or just order both in case. The warranty kits are part #100176 (left) and 100177 (right). It also says CS1.
  19. I think you’re overthinking it, the plastic clips are pretty easy.
  20. I tried them for the better part of a season, I don’t like them. Unless you have a blister or something on your hand, Or other hand issue I don’t recommend them.
  21. I actually really like surfing, it’s super fun thing to do in the afternoon with a few beers and boat full of people. We ski early in the morning and they don’t come out then. That said, I was out a few weeks ago pulling my 8 year old skiing on a calm evening and we were the only boat on the lake until a surf boat came out. The waves got so big I had to be careful not to swamp my 200, and my son had to stop skiing because of the waves. Tubers, skiers, wakeboarders, usually not a big deal at all when pulling him skiing, but these 4 foot rollers ruined our night.

    Heaters

If you have an existing heater, does adding the circ pump make it better at slow speeds? When you idle the heater cools off pretty quick when the engine isn’t pushing a lot of water. Do you just put it inline and wire it to the same circuit as the heater fan?
  23. I have a 20 Senate Pro, and it’s a great high end ski, creates a lot speed and space without a lot of effort.
  24. I’m on a 2020 Senate Pro. I ski 22 off 32 mph, and it is an amazing ski. My last ski was a 2017 Senate Lithium and the senate pro is a pretty big upgrade. It creates speed with much less effort and is more refined.
