  1. Do all the juniors ski again today or is it just the top 8?
  2. Disappointing that Charlie Ross skied with no commentary. Not sure what happened there. It would be helpful if the speed and line length would show up on the screen so we could at least know what's going on. I guess TWBC has us spoiled.
  3. I agree with @MattP It would be great if there was an option for visitors to ski who aren't competing in nationals. Maybe some of the owners on the lakes that aren't being used will pull skiers? My son will be competing and if I come there to watch in person, I sure would love to get a set (or 2 or 3) in while I'm there! Happy to pay for gas or work in exchange for ski pulls. :-)
  4. I have found that flex tape can fix anything. It works great for binding repairs and holds up really well in the water! https://www.amazon.com/Flex-Tape-Rubberized-Waterproof-Black/dp/B01N5Q3G8H/ref=asc_df_B01N5Q3G8H/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198096571354&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=18254013090230581059&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9028256&hvtargid=pla-348805449026&th=1
  5. @bojans I am curious about the same. I still think it's incredibly sad how Nautique treated Jacinta Carol when she broke the record behind a different boat. I think all athletes should try their best on any given day no matter who they are sponsored by and the sponsors should support the world record-breaking accomplishments of their athletes no matter what. That's my two cents.
  6. My son attended an A&M recruitment weekend as well and he thought it was awesome. I see more schools are offering this opportunity now so he plans to attend a few school weekends before making a final decision. So far he has only attended the A&M weekend but he was highly impressed and is leaning towards going there as a result. He loved everyone on the ski team, as well as the university so it gave him a really good glimpse into what college life is like there.
  7. @EM_. Thank you for this insight. My kid wants to go pro and is asking to go to all these various record tournaments around the US and in other countries and I am not able to afford it at this time. The talent and scores are there, but the money is not. Hopefully, all the new social media coverage and Youtube coverage of the sport will bring in more sponsors. I've never been outside of the US (outside of Canada) so WOW, $70 flights? That at least sounds promising.
  8. I too would like to understand how these athletes can afford all this travel. Are sponsors paying for any of it or do they literally have to absorb all the costs and pray for a win to at least get a little bit of money back?
  9. Chelsea Mills needs to be added to the list as well!
  10. https://www.youtube.com/live/1_zPzPZCC6k?feature=share I found the tournament and it is on a different channel than last year in case anyone is interested.
  11. Will this tournament be live-streamed? If so, can someone share the link? I'm hoping it will be on the same Youtube channel as last year, but I can't find mention of it so far. https://www.youtube.com/@juniorcanadianopenwaterski
  12. Where is the link to the live feed? The link on the waterski pro tour page is not working.
  13. I loved it and wished it was longer and went into more detail! I do agree with the above comments that a quick montage of all 3 events and some wild crashes, in the beginning, would get people's attention right away. Excellent job and I can't wait to see more films like this.
  14. Everything just keeps buffering and buffering and buffering. Then the volume is low, then really loud after silence for a while. It is very frustrating. I'm trying my best to be patient. I can't figure out how to go back and watch all the women that I missed because it keeps freezing up.
  15. So frustrating. I missed all of womens slalom because the feed just keeps freezing. 😞
  16. All great ideas. This way there can be different groups or "channels" that you can subscribe to just like slack. Advanced searching would be helpful as well. Sometimes I have trouble finding an old thread on a topic but I know it's there somewhere. Usually someone can find it and repost if necessary.
  17. I agree with @Bruce_Butterfield also. I see a lot of parents pushing kids to do one thing and I see a lot of kids unhappy about it. I also agree that having other kids involved makes it way more fun. My kid loves skiing and the whole thing was his idea! I don't push it at all, and never have. We are not from a ski family and I discovered this sport when I was 40. I grew up in a cold climate and did not discover the sport until late in life. My son saw me skiing at 5 years old and said "I want to do that". We haven't stopped since. He's almost 17 now and we ski at least 3 x's week. It's a LOT of time and sacrifice for sure but he is fully committed so I do call I can to support him. Many times it's just him and I, but we have taught several other kids how to ski, and that certainly keeps everything more fun and helps to grow the sport. I think kids just need to be encouraged to try a little bit of everything and then be free to decide what makes them happy.
  18. Thank you Drew. Good to know that someone on here has actually been there before.
  19. @Jmoski Thank you. I did see Club Med mentioned and I wondered if they really had a course. I appreciate that update and I'm glad you caught it and were able to change plans. :-)
  20. I tried to search for any threads mentioning Cozumel or Cancun and didn't find anything. My son found this link for something in Cancun. https://www.waterskicancun.com/. Not sure how valid it is, but this is our only lead so far. Ski Paradise in Alcalpulco looks amazing but is totally out of the budget at the moment. It's on the bucket list though.
  21. I am looking for a slalom course and ski school options in Mexico. We are most interested in a slalom course near Cancun or Cozumel. My son is skiing into 35 off and has a chance to visit the area so we are looking for options he might be able to check out.
  22. I am the mom of a 16 year old junior who wants to go pro so I'd love to join in any sub group so that we could help support each other. He wants to start doing some of the bigger tournaments abroad and our family can not afford to go. The only way I could probably make it happen was if I could partner with other families and maybe take turns taking the kids various places? I'd love to host some kids here in Texas at anytime and have them ski with us for a week or so at a time, and I'd love for my son to have the same types of opportunities in other places.
