  1. A very nice gentleman named helped me out... thank you, Gale. I closed the deal yesterday and will fly up at the end of the month to collect the boat. Looking forward to my first ski behind a TSC3 196. Thanks!
  2. Found a 2005 SN 196 I'm interested in, currently not listed anywhere. I have a few days to make up my mind. I live in San Diego and can't get up to WA for at least a couple weeks. Wondering if there are any Ballers up in the PNW that might be willing to look over a boat? Please PM or text 602-326-4708 TIA, Todd
  3. Buy a cheaper boat on your own. Too messy.
  4. Looking more and more like I need 2 boats. I liked our 216 but I'm a little afraid of buying a nice boat that doesn't do anything exceptionally well.
  5. Ah man... I'm flying up there to get my lake cabin ready in 2 weeks. I might have to have a look.
  6. Okay, sold my 1997 SN closed bow to get a little more space and versatility. I'm just a recreational skier, no course near my lake, and kids do like to board/surf a little but only at novice levels. We have friends up and do some lake cruising, swim off the boat, etc. I was thinking of trying a Malibu VTX but 1) they are expensive and a little hard to find (2012-2015 for best wakes and ability to have surf systems) 2) I'm afraid I'll be disappointed coming from direct drive boats. I have a chance to buy back my old 2008 216 which I sold around 8 years ago. It was a nice boat with a PCM 343 and Zero Off plus the tower/stereo that the kids like. I don't remember the ski wake very well but don't recall it being bad for my purposes. Probably wouldn't have to pay much in taxes on the deal since its a friend. I'm also intrigued by a 2014 TXi that I have found. Boat looks squeaky clean, low hours, newer and a little more space than the 216. But the boat is 20k more plus taxes (dealership). Is it worth spending 25k more for the Malibu? There is also a 2014 SNOB priced similarly to the TXi, a little over 50k, but as nice as it is, that boat is not all that versatile. Sport Nautique 200 also looks nice but it doesn't really get you the ability to surf, only more space for friends. Any thoughts or other boats to consider?
  7. I contacted the seller last week and was told that boat is actually $58k now. But I'd reach out to the seller to confirm.
  8. Long shot but thought I'd see if anyone is in that area that could lay eyes on a boat I am interested in. TIA. -Todd
  9. I guess I should have mentioned, the boat is currently at my home in Encinitas, CA where I have stored it during the offseason. Past freshwater use in NorCal, Canyon Lake, CA, and at my lake cabin in WA state.
  10. I purchased this boat last year to compliment our Super Air 210. We have decided to go back to only one boat and selling both to get more of a crossover. I POURED money into this boat last year getting it sorted out. It has the optional 320hp Apex PCM motor with a little over 600 hrs. Boat has working Perfect Pass speed control. Freshwater boat. Maintenance after purchase last May: New battery Oil and impeller New alternator New fuel pump New plugs plug wires New steering cable New ACME prop Replaced prop stut bushings Inspected manifold and risers, repainted New "Ski Nautique" decals New boat cover (already has a couple tears from bimini mounting screws during towing but keeps water out) Dual axle trailer - axles greased and 5 brand new tires (purchased a spare wheel/tire) last summer Hull is very clean, interior vinyl in very good condition for its age and not sun-baked, carpeting is just okay but very serviceable. Bimini has a hole in it to pass a pylon extender but is fairly new. Realize most of the skiers on this forum want ZO boats but this hull skis really well. I have it listed on FB marketplace for 19,900 but there is room to negotiate. IMG_7044.heic IMG_6746.heic IMG_6741.heic IMG_6740.heic IMG_6742.heic
  11. Where in SoCal? Sounds interesting.
  12. @Horton - Are you planning to buy something on a ski lake up north?
  13. I will try to drive up and see the condition of the '97. Another boat, a pristine '98, was brought to my attention as well. More money than both but looks stunning and I don't think ANY deferred maintenance.
  14. Found a couple boats I'm considering... 1997 SN with APEX Fuel Injected PCM, 596 hrs. Fresh water. Perfect Pass. Dual axle trailer. Looks pretty clean. Haven't seen it yet but planning to go tomorrow morning. Probably needs tires on the trailer. and 2006 196 Excalibur 330 with 660 hours, Perfect Pass. About 160 hrs of salt water use always flushed and wiped down. New manifolds and risers 2 years ago but sat for past 2 years after one use. Freshly serviced by my preferred mechanic but needs a prop and strut bushings done. Looks pretty good except for some vinyl issues on rear bench seat and lockers. Trailer dual axle has some rust, needs new wheels and tires, maybe bearings, etc. Very close to me. Pretty good deal available on both of them but I'd be into the 2006 boat for at least $10-12k more. I'm a free skier and have been skiing behind 2006-2008 SN 206s for the past several years, which I have loved. I only use my boats on fresh water. Don't think I'll ever be a big course skier but I am trying to improve. So, weighing the option of less money up front and, at least potentially, fewer issues vs. a very desirable and hard to find TSC2 that needs a little love I think would come out nice with a little work. Opinions, thoughts appreciated.
  15. I would consider shipping but sounds like it has already found a new owner. But, yes, beautiful boat.
  16. I plan to take advantage of this in WA this summer. Wish I had known about it sooner. https://www.dol.wa.gov/vehicleregistration/docs/BoatFuelTaxRefund.pdf
  17. Agree re: U-ship, I have used the site several times for vehicles and boats. Bruce sounds like he has a buyer already, which is not surprising. Hoping a nice bubble butt or TSC1 similar to this nice boat will come up a little closer to me. Since I am used to skiing a 206, how do you guys think I would find the NWZ hull? Several 93-96 boats out there, certainly less money.
  18. @Ronny61- That boat is absolutely perfect, with the exception of the fact that it couldn't be farther away from me unless I moved to Hawaii. It is also listed on BoS. I have toyed with the idea of trying to get a quote for shipping on U-ship but I think that would just be depressing. Thank you though.
  19. I appreciate all the comments. We have a 2012 SAN 210 for "wake" stuff, so I'm going to stay focused and find a pure ski boat. I really want a closed bow, TSC hull boat. Considering a NWZ boat just because I think they look so cool. I'm scouring the market daily.
  20. foxriverat- I have been in touch with that seller and 2 other boats in Discovery Bay, yes. Has TBI motor which isn't my first choice. Found a 1999 in the same neighborhood that looks really nice but doesn't have a trailer. Going to work that one. Pic attached:
  21. There's bananaron! I found a 1999 SN with a GT40 that's much closer. No trailer though. Think I will go down that route first as its all I need and a boat I'd rather own. The Response seller hasn't sent me a video anyway, so....???
  22. I believe this is based on a TSC hull. 21' and a little heavy but I could strip it down. Would this be comparable to how my old SN 206s skied? GT40 with 500 hrs. $25k ask.
  23. LoopSki- $30k. Which seems like a good deal but when I start factoring in transport, taxes, deferred maintenance, etc., maybe it ends up being a $45k boat and not so appealing. Those pics are a few years old, however, and the seller said he has replaced carpets and seat skins.
