  1. Does the 2024 bleed speed in the pre turn well? I enjoyed the previous model quite a bit because it really shut down nice & settled deeper approaching the buoy.
  2. 67” DV8 with GTR graphics Nice shape , 3 tails $550 OBO
  3. @Horton, did you find any magical settings deviating away from Connelly’s recommendations? Thanks
  4. My 2013 is a walk thru open bow & yes, much more room then the older 2004 lx.
  5. I think hands down for 15 - 22 off regardless of speed Malibu’s are the best option. Really soft & flat. I encounter the same situation you mentioned with a female skiing the same range. We have a 2013 txi, she loves it. We had a 2004 lx, she loved it. The bubble back 196’s are awesome also, she skis one of those too & likes it. She doesn’t complain too much about the new Mastercrafts but cannot stand the 200’s. Carbon pro wakes tho smaller feel stiff to me and used to wreak havoc on my shins & ankles early season when I used to ski -22 a lot. They are all excellent @ -28 & beyond.
  6. Well, the cable probably does need a change, but not quite yet. The dealer I bought it from NEVER locked the cable down properly. On either side. So basically, it was not tight & in the wrong position for proper tension. Thus letting the cable sorta do what it wanted. Then there was just enough looseness in the tiller connection to let it twist a bit before the cable got direct pressure to it. Then it just got full lube & I weighted the passenger side with 100lbs. Seems to be about the magic # for us since we never have a passenger. I think the cable is worn much more than it should be after being driven like that for however long before I got it. I did go in the steering wheel but it looked like I needed a puller to go further. I think there is a small amount of play in there, but the wheel/rudder are not floating anymore through the course so I’m good for now. Driving like it should
  7. I just wanted to use my current phone/camera that has cell service to use both the wakeye & hudl app. I got sick of the extra step of using the computer over the years. Let alone editing videos for length. To get decent video for me, that meant experimenting with all sorts of stuff to find a worthy combo I could watch
  8. @buoyboy1, I found the woohot on Amazon. @blakeyates, to upload to hudl in your phone, tap the record button. then when the camera comes up, there is an icon that says import & it should take you to your video library.
  9. To conclude, I was able to remove the slop in the steering linkage and cable. I’m shocked, I almost don’t even have to counter steer now. It’s tracking almost as good as a nautique. Very Happy & quite impressed
  10. That pad is super squishy & sticky. I was able to fit it using the same bolt. They make it in 1/8 also, i was unsure that would be thick enough after all the shake I previously experienced. They also have different durometers. I used 50 I think. A bit sturdier
  11. Thanks guys, there is some slop sorta all over the steering system. I eliminated it near the rudder & also tightened the cable a bit & made sure all the nuts were locked down. I’d say this reduced the issue by at least 1/2. Now this afternoon I need to get Into to the rack to check that because it feels like the rest is potentially in there. Problem now is kinda stupid, I can’t figure out how to take the cap off the wheel to get at it and don’t wanna pry at it blindly. No, the 2013 should not have tracking issues, should be a dream to drive... Also, this thing is a baby, only 315 hours & Only 115 were straight water skiing.
  12. Ok thanks, good to hear. I’ll go over the steering cable & connections
  13. I like using the iphone because I can instantly upload to the Hudl technique app to watch my crappy passes however slow-mo I like
  14. I did record using Wakeye app with stabilization ON
  15. I literally just went through this. Horrible shake with iPhone 7, totally unwatchable. BUT I got solid video after some work. Just sent this to the people at skidoc today & they appreciated the feedback. I bought a “WOOHOT” Camera mount to use and a small square of 1/4” sorbothane (anti vibration pad) Installed in between orbit and Camera mount. Also put it in the back of the phone mount. Changed iPhone 7 camera settings to record 1080 JPEG when using selfie camera. Here is a pic of the mount & below a video of fairly rotten pass that in my opinion came out pretty dang good on video considering. https://www.dropbox.com/s/c72zu150qbcd8v4/orbit.MOV?dl=0
  16. Hi all, I’m trying to figure out why my ‘13 txi doesn’t track as well as my old ‘03 LX did. Seems crazy to me but No matter where I level & weight it or how Much I load the rudder with the tab (or don’t) I nearly get the same result. The boat wants to over steer both directions when you counter and drive a serpentine path through the course. It’s a hair easier to drive going 34+ but it takes an a good deal of concentration and to drive this boat well from gate to gate. It seems lots of tournament set up txi’s get a small amount of rudder grind so I’ll be figuring that out at soon. I expect this could help the lack of steering tension I’m feeling when the skier is free of the boat. I thought this through a good amount today and it just dawned on me that there is a Malibu wedge plate on the back (no wedge). My ‘03 though a completely different hull, did not have this. I’m curious if anyone could shine any light on the possibility of this being a culprit adding to the inconsistencies in tracking through the slalom course. Thanks for any insight
  17. http://oahuwaterskiclub.com Skied here a while back but the members I met have since moved to California. Its an incredible site when its calm. Hopefully you can get in touch through the website. Good luck
  18. From a 2006 Nautique 196 Has an added nose strap Nice shape with hardware Asking 150 shipped
  19. Yeah, the woodwork/inlays are sweet. @bogboy, there is no fin on this. I found it blank, figured I'd bring it back to life, little spit shine
  20. thats funny. Its way too cool for that, ill post a pic of if it when im finished
  21. This ski is OLD, def not a remake but those dealer skis sound pretty cool
  22. im an oneill fan. Really warm/durable. Had a heat 3:4 last me 10 years. Just picked up the new hyper freak 3mm. New tech is incredible. Mobility and super light design for is awesome for skiing. this thing is quite warm. Personally, I could do 45deg water no prob in it but im pretty resilient to cold water. Definitely worth checking out! https://us.oneill.com/products/4972-q76-hyperfreak-fz-3mm-fl?variant=81810849807 Front entry is weird at first but this suit is SUPER stretchy. The psycho is also excellent and its rear a zipper with sealed seams. I just didnt feel the need for a warmer/higher end suit with a hair less mobility for more $$. If i still surfed all the time, id have bought that. for slalom, i think this hyper freak is excellent
