  1. If I recall it was around the beginning of April 2019 that the rollover error occurred. Mine was a disaster, long lock times, surging, odd performance. After the upgrade (Garmin v4.20) it not only corrected all of the above issues, but I believe that the performance and pull of the system was much improved. There were a couple of other minor version changes shortly after, and I think I landed on v4.40
  2. You can upgrade the puck yourself if you are comfortable building a serial interface. The software is available (and pin out instructions) are available on Garmins website. At the time, there was a GPS week rollover that messed up puck. V4.2 fixed it. it changed the behaviour significantly in terms of lock on time and reliability.
  3. Exact same problem this year. Chased it all summer. Once I jumped the boat, it would operate fine all day, even for a few days.. then dead. I reterminated cables, checked draws.. nothing came up. Battery would charge up on a smart charger fine..but quickly. That was my first tip off. Turned out the battery was failing and would behave irratically. New battery, and no longer any issues
  4. That's pretty good! If I was to make a suggestion, it would be that the slow ball 6 to gate is the boat trying to correct for a slightly hot entrance speed. Lower the crew weight a bit if you can, or lower your baseline slightly.
  5. That looks like a good solution. Ours has been very difficult to keep consistent distances. Whether its boat levelling or scrambling and pulling the boat, it seems to always fire a ball or 2 too far in a set. The narrow SN196 isn't helping, it seems particularly sensitive to weight placement.
  6. @chalouxWe're in the same market, and these just don't come up that often. I think its a good deal for what it is. Plus, Zbox is pretty impressive for low investment.
  7. I would be inclined to leave it and lower the baseline just a bit and retest.
  8. 67". Changed to the 2023 Long/Shallow settings and LOVE IT.
  9. What about LFF at 32 MPH on a '22 Vapor Pro?
  10. Our SN196 suffers from the same issue. Sun beats on the back and oxidizes/fades the blue gelcoat. Had it buffed and graphene coated last year and it looks like the day we got it back after a full summer and winter storage. A regular wax job never lasted a full year.
  11. How do you use the boat? Start/stop all the time only or hang out with radio running? Aftermarket stereo, subs? I've had a Blue OPTIMA Starting battery for years (8?) that is a bulletproof starting battery. For a ski boat that starts and stops all the time, and doesn't run accessories while off that have large loads for long periods, its been the best option. On another boat, that often sits at the local sand bar with tunes running and big subwoofers, I use the Exide Dual Purpose AGM batteries. They take a beating with heavy loads and deep discharges and still start the 502ci engine. These have been WOW batteries for me, never had I such long discharge times and good recovery. On the same boat the OPTIMA Deep Cycle batteries did not last very long.
  12. I got to mine by contorting myself upside down and sideways in the rear locker.. it sucked.
  13. I prefer to wait till its up to operating temp before taking off, however once I see that temp gauge coming up I often ease it up on plane. Note that we have a bit of a ride to get to our ski course, so either idling or easing up plane once its "warm enough" gives us time to finish our coffee's on our ride.
  14. My interest is in a finished product as well. Would be great if someone was able to create the mounting hardware as well, but as @Jaypro mentions, can prob make something up.
