  1. Ski? Bindings? Fin settings? Or just pure ability?
  2. The first entry for each skier in the H2H column is the same, so a tie: 3.5/58/10.25. Then the tie break scores below that in brackets - FW 3.5/58/10.25 and CB 3.00/58/10.25.
  3. First two rounds to reduce the field to 8. Thereafter H2H. Rounds 3 and 4 were H2H pairings (ie quarter-final, semi-final), leaving the final as a H2H as described.
  4. My wife and I have just returned from our second visit to the Boarding School. We are both somewhat older than you. One of us runs the course, one not quite. We both managed 3 sets a day for 5 days. Travis and Freddie could not have been better. Freddie gets genuinely excited about a skier's progress at any level and both his and Travis' input is fantastic. I am sure you could make some major improvements if you spent some time at the Boarding School.
  5. I was in touch with Mike Mapple from the UK about a second pair of Ryan Dodd Stealth Gloves, so that I could collect them when I was skiing at the Boarding School in Florida. Mike was in constant touch, got some in, and kept them for me. When I visited to collect them, Bill spent time chatting with us, and unsurprisingly I bought more kit. I have bought various bits of kit from Performance Ski and Surf over the years and the service has always been personal and excellent.
  6. Straps look similar to my adapted Radar RTP after one of the loops for the Boa cable wore out.
  7. Robin Hood Watersports. Reliable and helpful. I deal with George. They may need to order it for you. PM me re what you may need to order. I use the boot on a Radar plate with my Reflex front loop and 840 release. I had to order a Radar plate as I take a US 11 boot which does not fit the Reflex plate, although a US10 would. If using a mechanical release you must change the top bungee for a lace. Whether you use a mechanical release or fix it to a plate, it has a flat sole and sits flat on the plate and is unbelievably comfortable.
  8. @brooks I am sure you are run off your feet, but a sizing question it you can spare a moment. Weight 76kgs, starting speed 30MPH into 34MPH. Looking for a little more stability. Should I be on a 67 or a 66? [or on a Senate?]
  9. I thought you said there were no gators in this lake
  10. There is no driver in the boat in the photograph. The 'driver' looks ready to go skiing.
  11. Women's Carbon Omni or Women's Omni. If your wife is after performance, the former. Pretty sure with the wider ski she will only need the 65. Check the tables on the HO site.
  12. As far as I recall I just used two screws with the aluminium plate top photo. I went back to look at my other photos of the one with the all black bindings [lower photo]. That photo was when I was using the carbon sequence plate, and I just extended [cut] the centre hole. I did use the aluminium plate with only two screws, albeit with a Radar screw plate [the sort of moon shaped piece that comes with the bindings]. I used an HO screw plate later on top for added security. See this photo.
  13. Wearing a pair of nitrile gloves when putting on prevents the finger nail cuts - easily kept in the kit bag. Gripping only with the pad of the thumb and second joint of your forefinger does the same when taking off.
  14. Sorry, both with aluminium frame NOT feather.
  15. Lace up and Boa HRT fitted on my Omni.
  16. @skidad @garn Thank you, I think one of those may have to be the solution going forward. @vtmecheng Thank you. Nice fix! it has not got as bad as that yet, just a very little flaking of the top surface. @BraceMaker Thank you. Hopefully it is just forward enough and if I can catch it now there will be no real effect on that edge. Now on my start I try not to have a strong contact between the rope and the ski, although I used similar handles and ropes with my previous skis - D3 and HO Omni without any issues. They both appear to have a slightly different 'finish' on that top edge.
  17. @Deke sure will, thanks. You might have seen Corey's rope break in the "This is Why I Love the Internet" thread here peaceloveandwaterskiing
  18. I would be very grateful for any advice to help me solve this problem - the handle rope is wearing the topside of my ski, no doubt caused at the start. RFF HO Syndicate Pro. Handles used: Masterline Custom and InTow spectra. It appears that the very top layer of the ski is lifting - only very marginally. I have seen suggestions for using epoxy or nail varnish to repair chips and dings. Would that work here? Can I sand off any residue without damaging the rest of the top surface? Finally, how can I stop this happening again? Many thanks.
  19. My wife is another vote for the Women's Carbon Omni. It gives her confidence and it looks pretty good too.
  20. @luzz @blagrata @BraceMaker @skibrain @Greg Lukin thank you all very much. I think the decision may be to go for the CBO because of the modest speed and desire to release. All really helpful input which is much appreciated.
  21. @Luzz thank you - this is for a front binding [apologies, I should have made that clear] - the snug but not too tight feel sounds good.
  22. A gentle recreation skier 100-110 pounds skis at around 23-24 MPH rounding a few buoys on the way. Personal choice is a wrap style rubber binding. CBO or high wrap? Any comments welcome, thank you.
  23. @UWSkier if that is what you think at the end of each pass what do you think when you miss a gate? ;)
  24. Fulcrum Skis FS for the graphics with separate names for each different model. Meaning of fulcrum: the point against which a lever is placed to get a purchase, or on which it turns or is supported. A thing that plays a central or essential role in an activity, event, or situation.
