  1. I would most likely think they are need to be at 28" . What length are the skis?
  2. The rounded edge is the inside edge if I remember
  3. @perfski are superb in their knowledge of jumping, they'll for sure point you where you need to go. I think the visors are removable if your not comfortable wearing them. Some people use them though.
  4. Hey, bennetts is always a good source for all things jump. If they are out or don't have helmets they'll try to source some. I think Cole Kalkbrenner may be doing helmets also, but not 100% sure on that. We did do helmets but the company we got helmets through stopped making them. The best helmets to go for are the cookie G4 or G35 or anything similar to that
  5. Hey Kong, We have L's and XL's available but will be back in stock with all sizes from beginning of June. Their are few options out there for jumpsuits and Waters is certainly a good choice if you go that route. The only color we have right now is the grey upper body. https://www.stokesskis.com/product/elite-jump-suit/ Good luck with your search and hope you get plenty of time on the ramp this year. Make sure you post some pics of you going over the jump. Always good to see someone jumping. Cheers Thomas Asher Thomas Asher Managing Director Stokes Skis LLC Email: tom@stokesskis.com
  6. Hey @bananaron While it is important to prioritize safety when participating in slalom skiing, we understand that slalom skiers may prefer the fit and feel of a non-CGA vest. It is important to note that these vests may not meet the same safety standards as CGA-approved vests, and should be used at your own risk. That being said, many customers have had positive experiences with our non-CGA impact vests, and have appreciated the unique features and benefits they offer. Our vests are made with high-quality materials that are both durable and comfortable, and come in a range of styles and designs to suit your personal preferences. We offer a range of impact vest designs to choose from, so you can find one that suits your personal style. Whether you prefer a classic look or something more bold and colorful, there's an option for you. Stokes has a strong reputation for customer satisfaction, with many happy customers who have experienced the benefits of our impact vests firsthand. Plus we are skiers also so use the products everyday. The vests do fit true to size although some people do tend to find them run a little small, if your on the cusp between sizes I would size up. Thanks everyone for the fantastic feedback on the vests and also the suggestions that we may incorporate into future vests, cheers all. If you have any questions at all don't hesitate to ask Thanks Thomas Asher
  7. Hi @MickeyThompson we've had good feedback on our vests for the exact reason your looking for a vest. 8. @Danogreat you love the rebel star vest, good to hear. Hope it serves you well for many years. Their are small differences between our vests, but all our vests are made with the same padding pattern. The VelocityX does not have a hemmed waist, all our other vests do. The VelocityX also has a slightly different Neoprene for a base layer. Otherwise all our vests are very similiar. Cheers @epnaultwe really wanted a material that would hold its shape for a long time. Glad your getting the same fitting vest every set. Hopefully get another great summer coming up.
  9. Hey @steeliejunkienot sure on the comparisons but I know for a non CGA vest ours floats very well. We have good amount of padding around the shoulders and upper torso so provides a big more buoyancy, also not holding water helps significantly as well. @wawaskragain i'm not sure on the comparison. I just know that i've heard positive things regarding the flotation our vests provide. Thanks Thomas Asher
  10. Hi All , Yes the VelocityX is the new vest we have, its a hybrid of the NITRO vest and EVO2 vests that were so popular. The NITRO had a very nice base Neoprene that we used for the velocityX and then used the design i.e. padding jacket length of the EVO2. So far we've heard good things, Stevie Island has been wearing for 2 years now with no visible issues and still the same fit as when he first started wearing it, so no sagging, loss of elasticity etc. If you have any Q's on the vest feel free to ask. Cheers Thomas Asher
  11. thanks @6ballsappreciate the love for our vests. Thanks John and Reagon for hihglighting our vests in the video. If anyone has any questions at all about our vests, tops etc you can email or call. Contact is on stokesskis.com. Thankyou Thomas Asher
  12. Hi @Andre, Sorry yes I am a large. I am on the edge though between a large and a medium. If you are on the cusp between medium and large, I would size up. Thankyou Thomas Asher
  13. @AndreI am a firm 185-190 in winter and 180 in summer. my height is around 5'9"
  14. This is probably as good a compromise as you can get without the vest being heavy and cumbersome. I like to take a breather at the end and gather as much oxygen back into my system as possible before the next run, and I can happily float without needing to paddle around. My shoulders stick out of the water and I wouldn't say I'm feather boned, ha. But ask around, I think there are a few bos posters who have our vests who may provide some feedback on that also. Thankyou
  15. Hey Jibbo, The base layer of the suit and the padding are the same on all our vests. The Logo Vests are hemmed at the bottom and the EVO2 and VelocityX does not have that so has a little more forgiveness around the waist. We stuck with the padding and base layer as this has proven to be popular with a lot of skiers.
  16. Hey, We have added more padding in the most common places for injuries in slalom. We also made the padding quite high density so it can absorb more of the shock at immediate impact. We've had lots of good feedback from skiers that have taken those rib ticklers. Attached is an image of our new velocityX vest. The padding contours around the rib cage and we also put the padding higher on the shoulders to protect collar bones at that point. We do have people using it outside of skiing, we have an mma fighter who uses it to spar in and also an elderly lady who uses it to protect her from falls. So the padding has certainly helped others outside of its schemed design.
  17. Hey Guys, totally understand the need for numbers, I just got my insanely expensive calipers ready for the 2023 season, we are all micro engineers I think, ha. So the slalom vests are designed to take on very little water when out on the lake, being neoprene they will take some on, but the type of foam we use in our vests means a minimal amount will be absorbed into the vest. attached is a link to dry vs wet. Take a look and keep the questions coming. Cheers. Thomas Asher https://www.instagram.com/reel/CnzZYwVLYK2/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
  18. @neon204 I would be careful about jumping on 90" skis given the hiatus you have had and the distance you jump. Ski length though is determined by your height and weight also not necessarily just distance. If your 6 foot plus then you could go longer. Their are plenty of skis around that people are selling, ski-it-again is good. Scot Ellis has a few for sale I think. If you let me know your weight and height would be a better indicator of what length you need. Longer skis don't always mean they are better. You can private message if you like to help with the search, always happy to help. Thanks Thomas Asher
  19. Very Safe to do, I shortened a pair of 91" to 84" and worked great. Just make sure you have a strong jigsaw blade and make a template of your tip to apply the same shape to the cut. Once cut use a metal file, and you can fill/mold with body filler or bondo. Once the bondo is dried then paint over. Obviously finding a pair of 76-80 would be key but they are like gold dust now.
  20. malibu killing it also in stocks. Good sign for the recreational boat market doing great. @usaski1 forget NIO or TESLA go with MAGNA. Thats your EV car play
