  1. My dad was a friend and competitor of Johnny- he tells the story of when they were at the Nationals "back when"- my dad's alternator went out and he had to be back in the dental office by mid-day Monday with a long drive. No repair facility could touch it for a week. Johnny dove into it, found the part and they both missed their practice ride on Friday but Johnny got it fixed. They both skied poorly that Nationals. That is some amazing loyalty and friendship, as Johnny would be wanting to win any Nationals he showed up at. Our best to the Matranga and Benzel families.
  2. Why is it so hard to find a schedule of events online with IWWF? Someone told us they had revised the schedule in the last few days. We plan to catch Thursday afternoon and Mist of Friday to Sunday
  3. I switched to getting up with one leg out for back reasons years back. I let the boat crush me into the ski fairly well and have never injured a hammy (and my friends will tell you I have tight hammys). For some reason the HO RTP works best for me to kick in tightly and reliably on shorter setup lakes, but I'm sure that's different for each person.
  4. In this age of super-expensive boats, to have a new or fairly new boat a sane way to do it is for 2+ lake/ ski partners to go in together on buying it. Especially if the number of partners gets above two, is there a best way/ structure/ company to insure the boat, with "best" including a cost perspective?
  5. One side of our lake is a dam- muskrats love cattails for food and that wasn't happy for the integrity of the dam. Depending on where the cattails are they can also block views of the slalom course from shore, and grow out to where its a hassle for the skier to walk out of the lake after a tournament fall. We have gone with 4-6 inch river rock in areas that are too steep for other options.
  6. I might need a different thread for those who drag a foot and have to kick into the rear toe before the course. Because of lower back reasons I went to that some years back. I had an old HO RTP that worked like a charm kicking in, but the rubber finally tore out and I haven't found a replacement yet that kicks in as reliably and holds the foot in place all the time every time.
  7. I look forward to a stop there whenever I get to Orlando appx annually.
