Yes they make an extension bracket that goes between the supplied bracket and the mirror. It’s maybe 3” long. I use as a “drop bracket” instead of extension. As with the mirror, it’s expensive. Maybe like $100. Seems crazy but must have for me, otherwise mirror was too high as you mention. it still folds down fine to cover boat w the extra bracket on. sorry, don’t have a picture. if they made a shorter bracket, I don’t thing the fold down feature would work due to how the mounting is.

How deep is the river? Maybe just leave the jugs full and “sink” it 5 feet above the bottom by using cinder blocks or something heavy and 5’ of rope at each buoy location? You would be dropping something to bottom of River, but it would be cinder blocks and vertical rope vs horizontal pipes and mainline etc. should reduce odds of getting caught on trees branches etc you would need 12-15’ of water for this though. If you have less, tie the jugs closer to the pvc. If that makes sense?

Sounds fun as long as you pick the right hull, especially if you are getting back in the game and will be at longer ropes / slower speeds. Unless you are gonna start at 32-34mph 28-32 off, and shorten from there… To put a lot of work and $$ into a hull that doesn’t ski as well for your needs just leaves you with a hot rod boat. Cool, but not necessarily a hot rod SKI boat. 91-94 Prostar is good for longer lines, slower speeds for the era. 91-93 are carb. I think the good nautiques started in ‘97, most were FI already. The previous nautique hull wasn’t great as slow speed / long lines in my experience, others may differ. Malibu also good 97+, not sure about before. Not sure on classic 80’s boats, but I presume not as good as the newer ones… Maybe some other guys can help you with a list of target hulls to look for. post pics!

@rawly Are there really 11 ski lakes in a row there? Wow. Lot of skiers or a lot of open lakes?

Do you really need a positive stop? Can you use a visual? Like the backrest of the spotter seat lines of with the lift corner post? Or even out a piece of tape on the hull or window frame to line up with lift corner post if you need to?

Nothing there, but other options maybe. Front hitch on truck. Or borrow small suv from Neighbor. your number is more like 4,500 lbs if it matters. Extra deep garage. Good problem to have!

Call a dealer or MC to confirm, but about 4 years ago I think the std warranty was 500 hrs and covered a lot of stuff. The commercial warranty was like 480 and covered less stuff, no vinyl, maybe less gelcoat etc, but power train was still there. You are looking well past that for hours… keep in mind ski school boats are lots of hours at idle. End of course, instruction etc.

Great job! I think the 91-94 is in the top 5 best looking boats list. It’s hard to part with something that works great…

Another mental thing. Imagine squatting down on land and someone sitting on your shoulders. Your legs would be compressed / knees bent, but “strong” and holding the person on your shoulders. This is what you want to do in the water. Keep your knees bent but hold them that “strong”. As said above, you can pop up and ski in a little ball without standing up. Another thing I sometimes tell people is to count to 10, then stand up. The key is to wait… good luck

Can you just put a novice course buoy on to keep the pipe horizontal if turn ball comes off. Maybe like 10’ in or so?

I’m pretty happy with GoPro9 at 40% zoom, although we do handheld. Also, I’m looking at on computer screen, which is surely helpful vs a phone. Also x2, use “shotcut” free software to make slow mo videos for fun. 0.3x is pretty nice. 60fps seems to be enough for that.

MC did a anniv edition option for the 93. Metal flake (blue or red, for the most part) and stars. They are hard to come by, but that maybe would get you optimum wake and still have some retro feel. Another option would be to buy any 91-94 Prostar and add stars or have it wrapped to clone the ‘93. The 80’s boat wood for sure be cool though. Most folks are saying wake is better 90’s and newer. My concern with the 80’s boat would be you would put some (or a lot) work into something, get more serious about skiing, ski something else (friend / ski school / etc), and then want a 91+ boat. Coming from the nautique wake boat they will all be nice. Just a matter of time. For now, the 205v (empty) would surely be better than the nautique if that is convenient. And, welcome back (to skiing)!
