  1. Nautique still sells the Tournament Loveseat Extension. Your dealer can use your HIN and order the seat with matched upholstery per your build. I just ordered one over the weekend.
  2. As a different approach, has anyone tried the 3 blade version of the 654? That would be the acme 470. Same diameter, pitch, and cup. May be marginally faster too?
  3. TTT - there is a current Overall World Champion that invents flips left and right….he may be working on this double to claim a first.
  4. Hello, I’m looking for a Ski Nautique 200 factory tower. Preferably black in color. Anyone have one they are looking to part ways with? Willing to drive for pickup. Thanks!
  5. If self tracking/autonomous steering boats were approved in the next few years in the AWSA Towboat Certifications - why would we continue to need boat guides? Perhaps this technology pairs well. Many will miss the trick wake, but a heck of a nice table for toes.
  6. @Andre - agreed that the nautique hydrogate in slalom mode makes a really small wake, not good for tricking or other recreational wake skiing. I guess I just would have anticipated a similar solution from the new Prostar, or at a minimum the integrated ballast option that seemed to appear in 2020 and now isn’t being mentioned for 2021. You can’t tell me th ballast tank is a big cost adder; especially if they are sourcing the parts for the passenger balance tank already. BOS members have tapped into that for their own weight systems. Why not make the ballast tank an “option” in order to not impact the base price we all like so much? Don’t get me wrong the new Prostar is a phenomenal package - but we are missing the 3rd event here which has been a known hull shortcoming for 6 years. In those years, we kept hearing “mastercraft is working on a solution”. Has that performance requirement has been abandoned?
  7. Wasn’t the trick tank an option on the 2020s? Do we know why it isn’t on the 2021 configuration options list? From the 2020 awsa tow boat evaluation: MasterCraft Ballast/ Weight System – Tricks Only TheMasterCraftProStarwastestedandapprovedforuseintheTrickeventwiththeuseofanadditionalballast/weightsystemas configuredbyMasterCraft. The ProStar can be used for tricks both: 1) with the ballast / weight system; and 2) without the system. IF the boat is used with the ballast/weight system, it must be configured as it was tested and approved. Specifically, the MasterCraft ballast / fat sack must be installed in the bilge; under the floor compartment which is under the middle seat. The sack must be completely full when used for tricks (no partial fill). In addition, 75-pound weights as configured by MasterCraft must be installed in each of the rear compartment trays (150 lbs. total). Storage compartment trays are located under the access doors at the stern. The ProStar is not approved with any other configuration, in other words, a user cannot simply put a ballast / fat sack or weights on the boat floor.
  8. Looks like Correct Craft has the hydrogate exclusively until November of 2025: https://patents.google.com/patent/US7246565B2/en Trick solution aside, this new cost reduced Prostar hits a ton of the targets, and caters to the mass slalom market really well.
  9. @elr -There was a lot of speculation that this new boat would get a “trick tank,” such that manual weights wouldn’t have to be put in the trunks or in the walk through in order to give the wake decent lip/curl. It doesn’t look like that happened based on the presented information. I do see the MTS ballast in the spec sheet but I think that is the passenger side ballast for skiing without a spotter.
  10. Here is the thread with the service bulletin embedded from PCM regarding the change from 15W-40 to 5W-30. Apparently it’s mainly due oil pump failures: https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/22487/pcm-6-0-oil/p1
  11. What percentage of your hours are at idle? That is where fuel dilution comes from in the ski boat application with GM low tension piston rings, and it’s not so good for oil lubricity or viscosity. According to indmar, it’s a reason to change it earlier than 50 hours if you are a hardcore 3 event / private lake slalomer (stops after every pass, all the time). 13. Illmor 6.0: 373 hp PCM 6.0: 409 hp Why did they design a brand new motor that is 36 hp less than the direct competitor? Thats almost 10% less.
  14. Your wet sanding and rubbing compound/polish appears to be extremely successful- great job! Did you have experience doing this before? Also, how did you blend the area you polished with existing gel coat? It would seem doing the whole gel coat might be needed for consistency? I’ve got the same boat with similar oxidation on the transom. I also want to do the domed decal upgrade from domed numbers in the future as well, including the side “Malibu” with the background sun logo. They quoted me a lofty price for those but I think it would really pop.
