  1. Free skiing in the Kawarthas N E of Toronto 4 times so far this weekend Water is warming up by the hour, low 60s today , air high 70s.......it’s been a long wait since October!
  2. Is it in Italy? I see that the Porsche has german Stuttgart plates.
  3. I skied on Gull Lake in Halliburton in the 70’s. There were several Js. They had virtually no wake and planned instantly. Various boats from 90 v4 through 175 V6....all super great , especially compared to my dad’s Humber with 65 merc
  4. I think our man Sebastian had a little too much Pilsner this year. Also, Never try to pass Verstappen....can’t be done!!!
  5. I had a sore forearm the last six weeks of ski season too. Three weeks into season end most of the pain is gone. At its worst I couldn’t hold the rope when on -side wake crossing (sore right arm, RFF). In fact my right arm was needles and pins when walking and my pinky finger was numb constantly! Probably had some rough pull outs and high side falls but nothing memorable. Time has healed things 99% but to avoid re-occurance I’m also wondering if my hands are still too high and my handle “death grip” are contributors to the pain. When exactly are your elbows pinned to the vest...at the beginning of the stack, at the white water or directly behind the boat? Photo is free skiing 51 Air. About the same water temp!
  6. Yes that’s miles of ice right now after the rain last week. It makes you want to try ice sailing. Ps who first discovered Ontario? Ans. A Quebecer was playing ice hockey on the St Lawrence River when he got a breakaway ......
  7. Seems like never but May is normal in central Ontario , ice out is usually last week of April. Water warms up quickly with the strong and long sunshine in May
  8. I agree @Ed_Johnson , Alonso deserves another shot. I think McLaren has the smarts....technology and personnel. I did own a Renault 10 many years ago, amazing what they got out of 1100 cc...... pretty much flat out on the Autobahn with one eye on the mirror at all times.
  9. Lots of emotion in both Ferrari and Vettel so that’s where my money’s going
  10. Still love my 2004 LXI 340. 1000 hours. Lucky Lowe’s old boat. PP ok to 28 off at 34. Never tried shorter rope than that. Doesn’t use a drop of oil but I had to replace the entire tranny a few years ago.... I should probably have changed the fluid earlier! (And the clutch plate). Next on the list is storage locker cover skins.....
  11. The shortest book ever written? “400 Years of German Humour”
  12. @WaterSkier12 ......divorce lake? Sounds like an interesting place! Vettel won it and WILL win the next one too.
  13. I skied a private lake for the first time. Thanks Kim and Andre, and Gwen and Brian! Oh and I love my 2017 senate graphite, it’s the best thing thats happened to my skiing in years (and years).
  14. Kimi for second place! Sure am glad nobody got hurt on the Mercedes team bus, but think of all those Rolex s.
  15. My money is on Vettel this weekend in Brazil. He’s out to prove he’s still got it and it’s a Ferrari friendly track.
  16. Thanks @jcamp,I’ll check both out and report back....
  17. Is there a ski school near West Palm? We’re heading down in February.
  18. My boat has been out for two weeks Done winterizing. The docks are winterized and the boat is stored. Now ontario weather has been better than it was in august!!! Six months to go before the season restarts. I'm looking for cheap property in Ecuador.
  19. I'm 6 foot and 195 and ski on a 67 " 2017 senate graphite vector bindings. It's the best ski I've ever had. Free ski at 34 mph. Course up to 32. It improved my skiing, two PB this august. No more sore knees from hard shell . Easy to get up on. Agonized between 67 & 69 inches as I'm at the top of the weight range for the 67 but I have zero regrets.
  20. I'm looking for a manual wedge for a 2004 Malibu LXI. Youngest daughter likes surfing as much as skiing!
  21. 61F and windy in Ontario today. Feels like October. I wish there were more spots to keep my coffee warm on the LXI !
  22. I totally agree @parkerc2112 This year I've been skiing behind several other boats as well as my own. We all seem to have different handle dia. and shapes (mine is slightly oval or D shaped). So far I have no bloody callouses, no sore wrists or shoulder joints. Last year at this point in the season I had ripped and wrecked callouses and couldn't ski for a week my forearms were too sore. I think changing diameters and shaped handles regularly is the answer to hand and arm care.
  23. I just went through this decision making process last week and bought the 67 in. Senate Graphite. I usually free ski at 34, -28. In the course 31-32 mph, mostly 15 off, 66 yr and190 to 195. So far the ski turns great and is really easy to deep water start. My face doesn't even get wet! No more agonizing about the 69 in. Had a PP mistake Sunday and skied 36 mph in rough open water, 28 off and the ski turned surprisingly well- just need to get forward in the glide.
