  1. I'm looking at venturing out next spring to a waterski resort for a vacation. I've heard of the one in Mexico, and Costa Rica, but wondering if anyone has been to a nice resort in Europe with slalom course facilities? I'm not counting out California or Florida either.
  2. Personally, I would never trick ski without a trick handle and toe piece in it. It will help protect you from a F-B fall and your arm going inside the handle.
  3. Interesting, Okay thanks. I might pop over to Teamtalk and search through some posts.
  4. Thanks for the replies! Here's a pic of the dash, with key on, engine off. I have replaced the speedometer with a brand new one. And same thing. The cluster gauge with oil, temp etc all works. I replaced the RPM gauge with Stargazer, so the boat is usable, just hate having one gauge with a dead needle. And I could put the RPM gauge back in to replace the speedometer gauge, but then I lose the little LCD screen that shows the depth, hours etc. I do also have the 2 rocker buttons by the ignition switch (one to change the LCD display info, and one to slightly adjust the speedo needle up or down if it's slightly off) I wonder if those buttons could somehow disable or set the speed needle to zero, or disable it somehow by holding it down? Maybe I played with it one day and accidently did something?
  5. Hi ballers, I have a 2003 Malibu Sunsetter LXI and I'm reaching out to you hoping anyone with a boat with a paddlewheel speed sensor came across anything similar. Malibu or otherwise. I've made a post to themalibucrew forum HERE. You may have already read it if you frequent that forum, and it has more details. But here's a quick summary: Original owner, speedo always worked until it didn't a few days ago. Just reads zero. Confirmed the paddlewheel spinning by hand does send a change in voltage from 0 volts, to 12 volts with a quarter turn of the wheel. Paddlewheel has no visible damage. The MDC computer under the dash is getting this signal as the connectors and wires all look good. Tested with Multi-meter. Tried different plugs from other gauges and eventually even replaced the gauge with a brand new one. Same thing. Have not tried a new paddlewheel yet. My last hope is that either the paddlewheel itself is sending to high of voltage (0-12 volts {engine off, key on} and 0-14 volts while engine running) as the wheel spins and the MDC computer won't compute that properly, or that the MDC itself has a failed component inside related to the speed signal. All other functions of the dash work normal. Anyone have a similar issue? Thanks.
  6. LOL, Yeah, I was thinking of that too. I can understand suspensions because there is a "tour" card which players earn. And then to play in another league would violate their card status. And to be honest, I'm not sure what happens if a golfer violates pga tour rules at an event. Say they lose their temper and throw a club at someone, or push another golfer into the pond, or swear on National TV. Do they lose their card for a month? a year? It's just frustrating not really knowing what happened with FW.
  7. This whole thing is disturbing. What other sport does this? If a player is out of line, they usually get fined. Or.. they will get suspended (for a set amount of days) for physical actions against another athlete or an official. But waterskiing isn't really like that, it's more like golf. The athlete vs the course. Did he punch someone? Did he just say something? So... how does the governing body "uninvite or ban" someone to an event?
  8. What do you mean by "not in the other direction"?Lose GPS?Speed not correct?
  9. I believe our sport is "head injury" safer than Olympic figure skating. And it's not the NFL, and it's not NASCAR. I can see it for jumping and wakeboard as there is high impact on height to a fall.
  10. Bravo to those for fixing an old display and make it work! ?But I don't think I could deal with the numbers upside down.Save up a few bucks (ask for xmas presents) and upgrade to the GPS model.
  11. Just wondering for long term storage... should the shell be out?Or is it okay to leave the boot in? (Thinking about the spring mechanism)I'm guessing it likely won't make a difference, but just thought to ask.Thx!
  12. The fiberglass swim platforms are super nice, but man... that wood platform is stunning.
  13. What does Radar recommend for bindings for the graviton? I was thinking a pulse boot and the trick RTP. Does the pulse boot also need a plate to mount? Can the RTP be rotated for different front feet?
  14. A good tip that helped for me was to keep the handle on the tip of your fingers during pull up. Also, don't take a hit. Throw the handle if you get slack. Smooth skiing = smooth hands.
  15. @Broussard Thanks for that! Too funny, click on the vapor pro build but select the blue/white one. Then click sizes and there is an html error. So I wasn't seeing the nice graph. It works for the black one, and the other skis. ?
