  2. It is that time of year again when I ask the folks in the know. On a fuel injected engine (Excalibur 330) is it necessary to fog the engine and pull the plugs and squirt oil in? It seems to me if oil if squirted in, it is just going to lay on top of the lower portion portion of the piston even after turning the engine over a few times anyway. Thoughts? Cheers. Tom
  3. Wow, thanks for all of the responses. Since ski season is pretty much over here in Northern Ohio, I plan to winterize soon. One last trip out to "The Pond" to pull the course, so once winterized I will take the "new" battery to the parts store and have it checked, then over the winter, snag a voltmeter and begin troubleshooting using all of the info presented here. I do have one last question. If I jump in the boat now (in my garage) and turn on the battery switch then the ignition switch, what should the in-dash voltmeter read? 12 volts, right? Any lower then I know there is a drain somewhere? Again, Thank you for all of the great info. Cheers. Tom
  4. Thanks to all. I will find a multimeter and check it out. I did notice an additional wire on the positive side. I will look to see where it goes. I did have a new radio installed a few years back. Hmmmm. @MNshortliner. I purchased the boat new. Again, Thanks. I will update when I find the culprit.
  5. @skiinxs I believe you are correct. The all off means just that, all off. So why would a new battery become drained in one week. I will know more once I take the battery back and have it checked.
  6. So, purchased a brand new top of the line battery. No problems all summer. I have not had the boat out for over a week, went to start, nothing. Luckily, another club member gave it a jump. Here is what makes no sense. The master switch has been in the off position all week. If that switch is off, what can be drawing juice? I will take the battery back and have it checked but I don't think that is the problem. Any thoughts from the BOS folks in the know? Cheers. Tom

  8. Just curious. I recently had to send in my GPS puck to Perfect Pass because version 9 was not seeing the GPS. So we are using classic mode. Been a while since I have used it. Question: Once it is locked in on the baseline RPM, does PP increase/decrease the RPM while pulling a skier or does it just stay at the RPM set for that speed? Just wondering? I will say this, Classic mode sure does make running the course a bit easier. Cheers. Tom
  9. Update. It was the Tstat. All is well. Thanks to all.
  10. Took out the Tstat. Getting a new one tomorrow. Went up to 180 rather quickly. Got the warning light. This a 2004 Excaliber. I got the entire Tstat housing off. finally. Will check the trans cooler tomorrow. Thanks to all. I bet it is the Tstat.
  11. So, end of season is getting close here in Northern Ohio and now is not the time to start having issues. Went out the other day and overheated. Got back in and replaced a beat up impeller. Started in driveway with hose. All systems go. Went out today, 80 degrees and butter, engine over heated. Should have changed the thermostat, I know. Back home, cannot get the housing off. Any tips? With my luck lately I'll break the housing. Thanks. Cheers. Tom
