The best I can tell is the ground and the other wires are from the old speedo...which DIDN'T have the temp sensor in it (I don't know why, but I really wanted the water temp sensor in my perfect pass, (also not going to pay $150 just to get it))
Just tuned up the Gekko, put a new battery in, and I noticed that even with the new battery, when I turn on the blower, the lights, or the heater fan, perfect pass resets itself.
Not especially looking forward to this project!
I can't wait to try it...I did the upgrade the other day and am just waiting to finish up the other little projects on the boat to get it in the water!
I have noticed when I turn on any accessories the battery just can't keep up...and when I checked the battery today I noticed it is probably on the back 9. It could be as simple as that...just the battery, but it seemed to me if I was taking off the belt, changing the alternator was cheap insurance.
I have a 2003 Gekko with a Mercruiser Mag 5.7. I am looking for a tuneup kit, a recommendation on an alternator (this one looks original), and some instructions on how to change the impeller.
Thank you!
I wonder how/if this effects the online portion...
Another dramatic change to the outdoor retail industry
Minnesota-based retail chain Gander Mountain has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The company also filed for Overton’s, its wholly-owned subsidiary that sells boating and water sports equipment.
In a statement the company said that it will close 32 locations in its 162-store chain as part of its restructuring plans. Other Gander Mountain and Overton’s locations will remain open in that time, as the company attempts to find a new owner. Discussions with “several prospective buyers” are said to be currently underway. Gander Mountain said it expects to hold an auction in late April, with a closing by May 15.
It’s been a dramatic year for outdoor retail, with Cabela’s currently being acquired by Bass Pro Shops, sister company to Tracker Marine Group.
At the end of last season I inquired about an upgrade, and told them my season was about done. They took the order, and called me back later saying...you said you don't need the boat, we have another upgrade in the pipeline...do you want to wait?
I said absolutely!
A few days ago they called, said the upgrade was ready. Today they shipped it out. Can't wait!
I have a well used GTO-22, which is the open bow version. Nice boat...insanely great support considering I bought it used. Hope they are around a long time, as is Mark. The wake is a little hard, but I am not sure I have the best prop either. Unbelievable tracking...can't wait to teach my wife to drive it next season.
Hopefully it doesn't mean much. I tell you...I bought a USED boat from Gekko and every time I email Mark, he answers me with insight and enthusiasm. Pretty awesome.
Meh...windshield frame didn't rhyme.
Just curious what you guys are using for mirrors. I am thinking of getting one of the panoramics this winter. My only worry is that after using my friends wakeboard boat with it, it messed with my vision some (I get motion sick WAY too easily)...but it could also be the weird seating position in his boat.
