too much weight in the boat!

I will be honest...I am skiing this weekend for the first time in Florida and have similar concerns :)

Hell of a game. I think I just witnessed the last gasp of an awesome run. Wish it would have ended differently though. Oh well...now bring on the only sport that matters........ CURLING!

Love WSK. I loved the pics, the articles...Coxy Smooth changed the way I looked at skiing. Every time it showed up on my door step, it made my day. Mark my words....newspapers, magazines and books will be the next vinyl records. At some point Millenials will want that tactile experience that you can't get from a phone.

For anything other than skiing at 4am and making great friends...my lake sucks. Webster lake is home to every jackwagon who can scratch together $300 for a boat or wave runner and may as well replace the throttle with an on and off switch. It is home to every tuber who thinks the slalom course looks like an obstacle course. It is home to every fisherman who thinks catching you is more fun than catching a fish. Home to every wakeboarder who doesn't understand the point of driving back into your own wake. Finally, it is home to even slalom skiers who dock start from their homes and rather than go parallel to the course, dissect it and then drive the lake in circles. Yup...my lake sucks....except for these people: We took my bus up to Bretton Woods last weekend...lucky before the rain and shred the mountain. It was a great time with great people. https://facebook.com/keith.menard/videos/10157671435337524/ Sunday River may have been -15...we may have used enough heating packs to warm a Newport Mansion...but I got my first ski with my entire family as my 6 year old who is deathly afraid of waterskiing hit the slopes...hopefully I can parlay this into waterskiing next year :)

@Chef23 Ice on a board does suck...and lord knows I get enough of it at Wachusett. Heading up to Sunday River & Bretton Woods soon...hoping some good stuff up there!

@oldjeep No one hates me more than myself :) I broke my leg skiing when I was 15 or so...went back to it a few times, but finally just swore it off, I didn't enjoy it any more, I didn't like the equipment, it just wasn't fun. Then my brother told me I had to try snowboarding...at first I said NO WAY...SNOWBOARDERS ARE TERRIBLE PEOPLE! I tried it once and when I felt the glide...holding that edge...it was the closest to feeling like I was on a slalom ski. So...now I am a terrible person :)

This may be a controversial option but... Switch to snowboarding. I have heard very good things about the heated socks...but as a snowboarder...I don't need such things because our equipment is SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE!

@Chef23 Providence RI...its at a place called the Parlour. It is loud, so she may hate it...but I tell you...the food is really good. I LOVE the Stuart Foster sliders and the craft beer selection is fantastic as well.

This is the silly season in between water skiing and snowboarding where I get stir crazy...luckily, I also play guitar and the band I play in just released our new CD. https://thelincolntunnel.bandcamp.com/ So that's kind of cool...we are getting drunk tomorrow night in Providence...errrr...having a cd release party :)

I can't even tell you how much I look forward to curling in the olympics. Far and away my favorite sport to watch.

@Booze I am a Sun Devil Alum...so really...all we have right now is tasting the salty tears of perennial power houses when they falter. I mean hell...the finally fire Todd Graham...and UCLA hires Chip Kelly! At least we beat UofA though :)

We have an air chair at our club...this looks like infinitely more fun.

Is there much difference from the 2017 to 2018?

@"Pat M" It is so true...BUT if you can ski here, you can ski any where. I am trying to book a trip to Jay Peak as we type. I will also do Smuggs and Bretton Woods this year. A few years back I did Eldora in Colorado...old school skiing at its best and lots of access to places like Avery brewing :)

Where does your ski go in the winter? I was fortunate to get the Pro at the end of the season...now I need bindings...and spring!

My daytime job is motorcoaches. ZF came in with catepellar a bunch of years ago and was going to REVOLUTIONIZE the motorcoach industry. You literally can't give those buses away now.

@Bruce_Butterfield That could be useful for keeping wave runners off public lakes. Thankfully marijuana keeps the wakeboarders from waking up too early :)
