  1. 2004 SN Limited. What are your thoughts? When I winterize I always have done it in my driveway but the engine never really gets up to temp while idling. We are going to pull the course this week and I will drain/change the oil at our site so it is good and toasty. Now, I won't winterize for another week or two hoping for one last ride in the large body of water (Sandusky Bay) if we get a warm day. Is it OK to run the boat for one last hour or so then complete the winterization process. Maybe a stupid question but just had to ask. Cheers. Tom
  2. Thanks for all the great comments so far. Just spoke with Brooks Wilson and he suggested I make some tweaks to the ski. Move bindings back a bit and add more fin. You can't beat Radar's customer service. Said to let him know how it goes. Class.
  3. It could be that time. I am turning 71 this year and have become very frustrated this season. I love this sport it but could be time for a change in gear. I have always had very bad body position on ball 2 and 4. Breaking at the waist, looking at the buoy, left foot forward. You get the picture. I ski at 30 mph and on occasion gotten into 28 off. Not even close this year. Because of health issues, I have gone from 184 pounds to 189. Medication. I have been skiing on a 2017 67 inch Radar Senate Lithium and I love that ski and the company. But I am even blowing deep waters more than ever. The Radar Union looks interesting but not sure if I am ready for that move. I just want to enjoy the sport again. Thoughts.   4. I might try the fiberglass route. Also considering two marine grade chrome hinges. Pulling off the vinyl scares me a bit. And, not sure where I can have that plate fabricated. Ging to under this for a day or two.
  5. 2004 Ski Nautique has given me zero problems since I purchased it in 2004 except...hinges and shocks. I replaced the knuckle crunching glove box shocks and the observer seat shocks but the screws have pulled out of the fiberglass on the motorbox. I certainly do not want to drill holes in the vinyl to attached it again. Any ideas? Thanks, Tom
  6. I like to know how things work. That being said, I need to stop tweaking PP, but just a few question that I am sure folks on this forum can easily answer. I have been using Classic Mode for a while and like it, seems a bit easier. Classic Mode is RPM based so why would crew weight and skier weight make a difference? Doesn't PP just try to maintain that RPM? Also, to get times in Classic you still have to autocal the system then map the course, correct? Using Classic I am getting an entrance gate beep and a beep at each ball so it is using GPS for that, right? Sorry for all of the questions but I am certain you guys have all the answers.   10. After many smashed fingers and knuckles it is time to install a new shock on my 2004 SN. It seems like I replaced it years ago but the problem still exists. I have tried local auto parts stores with no luck. Where can I find the most powerful shock absorber? My boat has been flawless all these years except when it comes to the design of not only the glove box but the motor box as well. Those shocks broke years ago. The mounts ripped from the fiberglass and bent on the carpeted clamshell. Now the motor box hinge broke. Great engineered boat except for that. So... looking for the glove box shock and any ideas how to fix the motor box issue. Thanks to all.
  11. Thanks to all for the tips. I did move the bindings back one hole and it worked. Feeling a little better on the off-side. Now if I could only keep that stacked position. Once again, thanks for all of the comments.

  15. I have been dealing with this for years. I have a 2004 Ski Nautique 196. I have been using a fluid transfer hand pump and it is always a hassle. Trying to get a little hose all the way into the transmission, then hoping to get it all out. What a pain. Is there a better way? Thanks for any insight.

  18. Thanks to all. What a great forum. I ski on a 67" D3 Nomad behind a 2004 Nautique 196. I have run 5@32 at 34 MPH a couple of times. Using the "one foot in" technique has always worked but lately I am getting pulled way over the front of the ski when I get out of the water. That is where the hamstring problem has been starting. Should I try to perfect a "two in" deepwater or fix my problem using the "one in" start. Obviously I use a rear toe piece and don't see my moving to a double boot. Thanks again. Tom
  19. I am an older skier (64, Ouch!) and have been skiing over forty years. I have always kept one foot out on my deep waters and now I find myself getting pulled forward and giving my hamstring fits. I am getting very concerned. It is time to keep both feet in but I find it impossible. Old dog new tricks situation. Any thoughts or tips would really be appreciated. Thanks, Tom
