  1. No other MC will ever be as cool as No. 1. The Orange hull, the significance, the history on how it came about and who was there. The impossible to find reverse mph/km white face Airguide 712. Being an antique ski boat nut there’s nothing like seeing it in person.
  2. 2 courses on Dora chain in Central Florida. Typically good water on 1 of them. Just nobody skis there.
  3. Im confused, you’re worried your engine runs well below normal and ideal temps?
  4. C and S wasted my time. One sample per color and that was is it, wasn’t even close. Wrong shade, wrong sheen, wrong texture. She said that was best she could do.
  5. @lpskier better weather I agree. Better peeps to ski everywhere else. @SkiNautique7 unless you can drop ~$40k annually & -39.5 to ski, finish up school in Florida and get the hell out.
  6. Do yourself a favor and move the heck out of here. Florida is a glorified port-a-potti fire when it comes to slalom.
  7. Kids are falling out of skiing because of the skiers. Unless mom and dad ski, there’s no opportunity for the high end snob private water skiers to allow a guy to bring his 2-10 yo kids and teach them to ski and get them introduced to skiing.
  8. Evidently his kidney, heart, and liver went to new families. That’s awesome, 3 new lives got to live a little longer.
  9. Sad. You don’t realize how important being an organ donor is until you or a loved one is put on “the list.” Being an organ donor, Marc just won the biggest tournament and he really “passed the handle on.”
  10. Around here these guys slob over 90’s era Mastercraft. Much like you I’m still trying to figure out why?
  11. Talk to me Goose. You guys are mega slackers, took 6 posts for a Top Gun reference, pfffftt.
  12. I was passenger in a boat when a skier went down coming out of the ball. Rope sling shot and wrapped around drivers neck and chest and managed to catch the throttle as well. Boat went into reverse and the transmission broke instantly. Boat didn’t have a chance to do anything crazy. Never could talk those guys into a shock tube.
  13. That was a funny storm. Storm passed us Saturday 9/12 at my fish camp in Homosassa, FL. If it wasn’t for TV I would’ve never known there was a storm bc weather was fabulous on the Gulf. Yesterday Thursday 9/17 the storm surge finally came and we got 10” of water across the land. Tide came in and 6 hours later it forgot to reverse and still kept coming in. I kid you not, I drove my boat to the trailer instead of backing truck and trailer down the ramp. Kinda unusual for us.
  14. Nice having ya. Hurricane? Oh you mean Yankee Relocation Program.
  15. Fantastic Finish Marine in Ohio is your best option. Very user friendly. Pretty much no swap options.
  16. @MDB1056 I hate to say it but now you took the foam out, Insurance has strong leg to stand on to not pay you. If it’s an older boat with no electronics, no EFI. Pull engine open and clean it and oil, tranny too. Wiring harness was likely becoming toast at this point anyways so just start over with a new one. If it’s got foam, start cutting it out. I dont see how this would be a total loss no matter what year boat.

    Re-power?

Last I checked a 5.7 repower was $14,500. 5.7 availability is becoming slim as a brand new motor.
  19. No Kris says there’s a lot of big skiers out there. He says more demand for 68 than 65. I would’ve thought opposite.
  20. Sounds like you’re on the right track. I’d like to see idle lower. If engine sounds happy with current mixture settings I’d keep it. I always like to put fresh plugs in once I feel carb is set and adjusted. Then pull plugs after a few hours run time. Plugs tell a lot. As jhughes mentioned choke isn’t necessary but I’d keep it. Two pumps on cold crank is all any properly tuned carby needs to crank.
  21. @ALPJr nope, still no 68”. Molds were made 1 at a time, the 68” mold still being manufactured. Not sure why such a hold up.
  22. @svxwilson biggest problem? That’s not what she said. Lol. Stokes has been my next go to for skiing. Hard to go wrong with O’Neill. My pockets can’t afford two suits per trip.
  23. @svxwilson lack of crotch space... ??? what’s that like?
  24. @Cnewbert throughout college I was a dive master on numerous dive boats in west palm, keys, and Tortugas via Ft Myers. Rarely did I use more than an upper rash guard as I didnt find 10 dives (sometimes) a day to 120’+ strenuous. Winter months I’d use a shorty, rarely more. For a while I dove almost all the caves in Florida, sometimes within 3600’ penetration if possible. I’d like to think that was pretty freaking strenuous as often I had to strip down of all my gear and scoot on my belly. At 68* (despite the common misconception of FL aquifer being 72*) O’Neill 2 piece was my go to. In 12 years I went through 2 suits. Unbelievable maneuvering, stretching and dragging across rocks. I gave up cave diving and diving all together and took up water skiing as I decided I was going to die underwater while diving..... frankly not sure I made the right decision. In FL skiing with a Camaro it’s 1-2 per incredibly short season. Great performance from Camaro, shit life.
