  1. Allow 10 seconds to pass between turning the battery switch on and punching in your ignition code. Also, when you are done for the day, punch in the ignition code and then hit the stop button. Allow the computer to completely shut down (blinking blue light), then turn off the battery switch.
  2. I had the same issue. I used 3M black weatherstrip adhesive. Worked great.
  3. I’ve had 3 different sets of Vapor boots. The 1st 2 sets lasted a little over a year. The 3rd set has lasted 2+ years. The only thing I’m doing different, is I take out the liners after every set. When I put them back in, I do it by hand, not with my foot in the liner.
  4. @PSM 2016 Vapor 66" Rossi Original - 29", 2.465, 6.940, 0.733, 9 Rossi Alternate 29", 2.460, 6.960, 0.735, 9 Rossi PM'd these to me after I told him I felt like the ski was sticking at the finish of my onside turn - 29.25", 2.455, 6.975, 0.745, 9 Rini - 29.25", 2.45, 7, 0.72, 9 I'm currently running these numbers, close to @SkiJay's numbers: 29 3/8", 2.455, 6.975, 0.732, 9
  5. @cragginshred I would guess your lean is insufficient. I agree with Rini's philosophy. I started skiing in tournaments last year and an observation I made was the better skiers (38off and beyond) have significant leans at 28off. More lean will get you to the ball early, giving you more time to turn with a tight line.
  6. A friend on my lake is selling this boat. He doesn't ski, so after having it for a year he's selling it to get a wakesurf boat. He bought the boat from Drew Ross. Direct all questions to him through the link below. http://orlando.craigslist.org/boa/5292436334.html
  7. I've got a green 66" sitting in the garage. If anyone is interested, PM me.
  8. I'm fortunate enough to live in the Orlando area and have been able to ski with Matt Rini on several occasions over the past year. His style of coaching resonates with me because he is able to simplify things so well. There are many great options, I'm a fan of picking 1 coach so you get consistent feedback.

  10. Anyone have fin and wing settings they like for a 66 inch T2?
  11. I entered my first tournament this year...a 3 round turn and burn class C for $55...free beer and pizza included. There are some sites and organizers doing it differently. Also, I agree with you @LLUSA regarding private sites. Fortunately for me and others in Orlando, there are still many courses on public water. Without them, I wouldn't be a course skier.
  12. Thanks guys. @Wish explained to me the box on the torque actually adds stiffness, allowing the tip and tail can flex more. With that being the case, I would guess the sequence plate wouldn't have a negative effect. I was under the false assumption the box was where the "twisting" was occurring.
  13. Does anyone know if the Radar Sequence Plate would effectively reduce the torsional flex of a Mapple Torque?
  14. @DefectiveDave Usually the next ski model comes out at Nationals in August. If Radar makes changes to the blue vapor, you'll start seeing used blues on ski-it-again in the fall.
  15. At your weight, I'd probably go with a 66 for the vapor or quest. I ride a green 66 vapor and I weigh 175lb. I've never skied on a quest, but I tried a nano one before I settled on the vapor. The nano one turns easy, but took more energy to ski on. I never felt early on the nano one.
  16. Video was recorded, but it wasn't streamed live. They have posted Freddie and Regina's passes from the finals on YouTube (search The Water Ski Broadcasting Company on YouTube). At the tournament they announced everything will eventually be uploaded to The Water Ski Broadcasting Company.
  17. @ShaneH, I raced bikes for a few years. I enjoyed the format and the competition, however my job relies on my upper extremities. Often, cycling crashes involve broken collarbones and/or wrists, so I no longer race. In contrast to you, I am skiing in my first tournament Wednesday. My mindset going into my first tournament is to run a certain pass, it's all about personal goals. I think it will be fun and exciting, but maybe it gets old. My mindset in my first Cat5 cycling race was, hang with the pack and sprint to the finish, maybe you can win. My point is I agree with @ShaneH, ability based formats foster a different mindset and are fun/competitive. I think they could be implemented in water skiing. That being said, tournament water skiing and USA Waterski, in its current format, gained a new member this year.
  18. So what does the I in IW/IM mean? International?
  19. Looking at the scores on waterskiresults.com I've noticed some of the men are skiing in division IM and Regina is skiing in IW. I'm not familiar with those divisions, can someone enlighten me?
  20. I owned a 2000 SN 196 and my ski buddy has a 2002 LXi. Both wakes are awesome. The LXi is bigger/roomier and has an open bow. I'm partial to nautiques, but you'd be extremely happy with an LXi. My 196 drove and tracked a little better than the LXi, but if you need the space @Ilivetoski is right.
  21. You can easily find a Ski Nautique 196 in that price range, especially the bubble backs. Awesome boat.

    SN 200 5.7/ 6L

@MISkier The 6L still uses fresh water to cool the heat exchanger. I would guess the shower would draw from that.

    SN 200 5.7/ 6L

@EF23 I asked the same question last year. I ended up buying a 6L promo, no regrets for me. http://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/10863/sn-200-5-7l-or-6l-for-34-mph-slalom
  24. @BRY You are right, they are excuses, but my posting them is to give a sense of what is holding folks back. Tournaments based on ability (like cycling) or handicapped (like golf) would reduce the intimidation and could make for better competition. Also, organizing them so participants don't have to sit around all day would help. All ideas that have been expressed in this thread and are appealing to a non-tournament skier like me.
