    where do you buy one of these camaro wet suits? I am having a hard time finding them.

    Hey ballers, I am about to enter my first full season of skiing and I need to get a full wet suit. Does anybody have any advice as to which suits seem to work well and which do not? Right now I am leaning towards the Body Glove Siroko 4/3mm. Can a wet suit keep me warm all year long? I will be skiing in South Carolina. I am trying to stay away from dry suits since they cost so much.

    I worked renting boats to people last summer and I have to say direct drives have more room than v drives. We rented out stern drives, which are like v drives and it is difficult to fit skis and cooler in them, where as on my direct drive I put my skis in the locker behind the rear bench and in the hull ski locker and I put my cooler behind the drivers seat. I would look for a large dd before I would look at a vd. Looks can be deceiving.

    thanks for the imput everyone. I am definitely no rush to buy a boat right now, I just want to be informed. I will probably look for a nautique or early mastercraft. I have skied behind a 2003 malibu and was not impressed and just from riding on their wake boarding boats I have to say their build quality seems sub-par.

    @Orlando76 I have skied behind a 1991 SKi Nautique and liked it pretty well. What year did nautique stop putting wood stringers in their boats and what is a composite boat? Also what changes occurred after 2001?

    I am thinking it is time for a Freddy Krueger edition prostar. One with the same power plant at this boat, but with black and green nightmare colors.

    I am thinking about buying a boat and am wondering if some of you can give me some pointers as to which ski nautiques and mastercrafts have the best wakes and which ones to stay away from. I mostly slalom and my best right now is 15 off at 32mph (so not that great). I am looking for a boat that is great at all speeds and is relatively cheep, basically a slalom course mule. I also mess around with the trick ski and kneeboard occasionally.

    My point is that there are other boats for around the same price as a 2001. It just seems so dangerous and stupid to do something like that to a boat of its size and purpose.

    I had the same problem on my 350 tbi indmar. It turns out the lower pressure fuel pump went bad in it.

    I work at a marina and see a lot of interesting boats. One thing that I see that kind of annoys me is people who take a Ski Nautique 2001 and try to turn it into a wake surfing boat meaning, they will put a tower on it and add fat sacks and six to eight people to weigh it down and then actually try to surf behind it. I do not understand it. They are taking one of the smallest boats out there, designed to create the flattest wake and are trying to turn the thing into a battle ship. Nothing about the 2001 is designed for this. Just a couple of months ago I saw the cleanest and nicest sn 2001 being used for this. The owner said he had bought it off of a guy who had just restored it. The thing was immaculate. I do not get the appeal besides that fact that they are cheap. It seems to be that they could easily find an old supra, sport nautique, or malibu sun setter for the same price and with a lot more space. I've added a photo to showcase what I am talking about.

    Thanks for the input everyone. I talked with some club members the other night and we are now exploring other insurance options besides USAWS.

    @LeonL So like I said I am still new to this. All of us club members are required to purchase a USAWS membership, but I only has to be a grass roots membership, since many of us do not compete or jump off the ramp. We ski on a public lake, with an inflatable course that the club owns and has permission for by the local government and proprietary owner.

    I have a moomba outback ls. Its wake is no where as good as the new nautique 200, but it is a great family boat.

    Hey ballers, got a quick question. Are grass root water ski club drivers required to be USAW certified? I just recently joined a local water ski club, where our meetings consist of somebody volunteering to drive their boat through the public lake, course and give us pulls. We do not host competitions, do any trick skiing, or jumps. We only slalom. A week ago I went to the regular course expecting that the rest of the club would be their and somebody could give me a pull. I went and was greatly disappointed, because nobody was there, because "We did not have a Volunteered Driver." I saw a veteran club member, who was in his ski boat and asked him why we did not have a meeting if he was out skiing with his boat. He explained that he could not pull us because he was not a USAW certified driver and that club president had made a new rule that only certified drivers could drive the boats. He told me that in a small club like ours, that relies on volunteers needs to make volunteering easy (not require usaw driver certification) to allow the club to grow and not shrink. I have to say that I agree with him, and I was wondering your opinions or thoughts on the matter. Is this something that is a must have requirement or is it a nice liability safety net for the club?

    @Daddyodaman My $.02 if you bought a $1000 ski you probably want to get pretty serious about skiing. A boat that big is great for the family, but will not give the best skiing wake and a carbureted boat with only 310hp is going to be sluggish and have a hard time moving that much weight at 34mph. If you are into wakeboarding too I would look more serious at it, but for serious skiing I would look a fuel injected moomba outback, a nautique 206, a malibu response open bow or even a prostar 214. I have a 2001 moomba outback ls throttle body fuel injected at 320hp and I can ski and wakeboard with it, but it is more of a skier's boat. If I could change anything about it I would probably want it to be more skiing oriented and have a smaller wake. Point is the sunsetter is a really great multisport boat, but if you really want to ski I would look for something smaller and more powerful.

    I've got a question for all of the CP owners. How do you deal with no rear bench? I am in no market to buy a new boat, but looking at my current situation, sometimes I have to travel a half hour to a good ski spot and I usually ski with 3 to 4 friends. It just seems really inconvenient to not have a rear seat, especially if you want to use the boat for something other than skiing. I love the boat and I get that it is no PS214, but I really wish they had a rear seat option.

    Can somebody explain how paypal works? Does the seller not receive the payment until the product is shipped? How does paypal ensure that the buyer and seller are treated fairly? These are all good replies, thanks for the help!

    @oldmanskier I have also heard that they went from dual exhaust to single and changed the shape of the rudder, which made a big deal. I think the thread I read that on was on this forum. I believe the carbon pro is the future for a lot of us skiers. We need a boat that offers great performance with no gimics at a reasonable price, something that mc and cc does not offer. I would rather own a mc or cc but it is hard to justify forking out the money for one when the carbon pro does everything I need for less. Sorry but I don't need underwater lighting, a heater, or hundreds of paint options. I need a good wake and reliability.

    Hey folks I am new to the forum and ski-it-again, so if there is a good thread out there direct me to it. Can anybody give me advice with ski-it-again? What is the best way to handle transactions with it? What are the risk in using it and is scam or theft common. I am completely new to ski it again and paypal. Please share your personal experiences and the best way to handle things. I am looking to purchase some used gear off of it out of state.

    I am wanting to progress in my trick skiing and am looking to purchase a new (to me) ski. I am currently skiing on a 42" obrien pro trac ski, which is basically a beginner ski and at 170 pounds it is less than adequate for proper tricking. As a young person I do not have a lot of money and found a Connelly Honeycomb Trick ski on my local craigslist. Connelly has since stopped production of the ski, but I am wondering how it compares to modern skis such as the new quantum and d3 skis. I do not plan on doing a lot of toe tricks mostly hand jumps and turns. Can anybody tell me how the Connelly Honeycomb compares to a modern d3 or quantum? Thanks.

    Hello I am new to this forum so bear with me. I've got a boat on lake norman, NC and no truck. I am looking to ski on the slalom course this summer as I got a shot at one last summer. I am looking for a slalom course on lake norman to ski on. Does anybody know of one on Norman? I am aware of the course off of I-77 on lake davidson and have skied on it before, but as I said I do not have a truck and the ramp on it is horrible. The wind coming off of the highway and the other side of lake norman is also unbearable.

    How is the Radar Vice? I'm new to skiing course not slalom. Ive been skiing with the concept at 22 off going 30mph, but I feel that my ski is lacking. It doesn't have enough snap and speed. It is too sluggish and slow. I was wondering how much better the Vice is? Is it worth the upgrade? Can it be skied at 36mph with a short length?
