  1. @MarcusBrown awesome info! Which one of the freerides would be closest to the hovercraft (jumping it off the wake and surfer feel)? my kids and I have our slalom skis for course and for smooth water to getting after it. Just would be fun to play around on something like the free ride. thank you
  2. when did the free ride come out? 2013? looking around internet, I see freeride, fusion freeride, EVO freeride -- are they all shaped same, just different graphics and years have different names? I played around on the hovercraft which is fun, but it's big/wide, would think not fun to store on boat. wondering if freeride would be similar to hovercraft (meaning playful to jump on and ski at slower speeds, easier to ski in rough water, etc...)? Thanks in advance of advice.
  3. Thank you that does help. But It was more of this view. Showing where rope handle at different line lengths are at the ball. How far they go past ball, some line lengths meet ball and how far short line is. Crazy awesome that these pros can do short line length. Looking to show my brother few things and would like to show him pictures. I sure wish growing up we had boat and close lake nearby. I’m still searching thru waterski magazines. Wonder is Todd Ristorcelli on here? That was cool picture if I can find it. Miss those waterski magazines.
  4. I’m trying to hunt down that picture. It was small article along with picture showing a boat, rope on pylon stretched out to a ball and it shows all different line lengths. Of course it showed 15 off rope past the ball and of course 43 off rope way inside the ball then all other line lengths too. It was in the waterski magazine, maybe 2005 - 2013. I could be off on that. I’m searching thru my waterski magazine abs so far no luck on finding it. Anyone have that or a picture like that? Waterski magazine is awesome. Sucks that it’s no longer. Thank you
  5. @bananaron why is gekko not in business anymore?
  6. @mlange crap forget about the damn rear view mirror. Agreed any solution to have mirror and off course on at same time? Also maybe magazines are bent so mirror can be used. Looking at their system on their boat- looks like I would have to slide down my mirror a good ways to the right. ? hmmm
  7. Curious and circling back. Has anyone tried this on their trailer bunks? Looks like boat slides up easy on trailer. (I also have stern straps on back of trailer). I always dunk trailer and get carpet wet. I also assist and hook up wench and hand crank as my wife powers it up slowly. Love the colors of my boat, but with black hull it sucks to see small streaking.
  8. Probably putting too much thought into this. Lol.
  9. Thanks all for info. Both skis HO Omni and radar Tra are 63”. HO omni says up to 110lbs Radar Tra says up to 130lbs. Not sure, I would think they be for same weight but maybe marketing stuff or maybe one is wider then other. Again my daughter is around 70lbs and son is around 80lbs. My wife’s 65” radar Union is a bit to big for them to maneuver around. They do okay on it. But rather get them a 63” to get them to progress faster. Tough to figure out which to get. Both good brands. But obviously some difference in design. I assume whatever I get them they will get used to and be fine on. ? hmmmm @jjackkrash @Bdecker @bishop8950 @ironhorse @bojans @Skoot1123 @Horton Thanks for all advice. Damn. Decisions decisions.
  10. Trying to figure out which 63” kids ski to go with. HO boys Omni or Radar Tra. Any input is helpful, and thank u in advance. For both my daughter and son (both in area of 70lbs). They are going to week long ski camp this summer and are excited. We are not hard core but we are athletic and aggressive. Working on keeping correct stance on ski all the way thru. we ski during summer here in Midwest. Mainly open water and at times ski course on lake or once in great while at friends lake that has course on it.
  11. Damn. Nice. Not ready to move but if I was. Nice simple set up and nice area.
  12. @Ajskier ——- I’m 43. Never been in hospital etc... grew up on farm, motorcycles, waterskiing (snow skiing later in life with my wife and kids), etc.... i tore my left ACL back when i was 34, October/November 2012 I think. (left acl is my front ski foot). I tore it playing in flag football league with a bunch of early 20 year olds. Ugh. I was pissed off at myself, the dr that did the surgery tried to be positive and was like 34 yrs old and this is your first issue in hospital, much better situation then others, and acl tear is not a big deal. I saw 3 doctors. First dr the oldest and said “leave it be and see what its like”. Second dr was the youngest and said i have a high activity rate and wanted to use my own patella tendon. The third doctor was middle aged and recommended by few folks who just moved to my area, and he had been practicing out in CO (avalanche hockey team, and broncos team dr too) for long time. He said yes i have a high activity for my age but felt a cadaver was best to use and did few other things. The dr’s PA prior to surgery came into room and going thru check list, i asked him to please make it a runners cadaver. He’s like well sir a cadaver is a cadaver (he thought i was serious), i stopped him, and I’m like I’m joking dude. Lol. Surgery was around December 2012. I did everything the Dr, PA, and PT told me to do. The PT was like a drill instructor, she pushed me hard. But I’m back to slalom skiing, barefooting, trail running, running , mtn bike, and road bike. Summer of 2013 just did 2 skis since dr and PT told me too. So back to slalom and bare footing in summer 2014. My knee is strong. I still think. Since i tore my left ACL and its my front ski leg. I still wonder if i should do front release boot. My back foot is a RTP. I’m on Wiley’s front rubber bindings which i really like. I might get a Wileys rear boot and see how that feels over my RTP. But someone on here on BOS site ( I chatted with over the phone) said release bindings can good but also sometimes a headache and need maintenance. There advice over the phone to me was just let go of the slalom handle prior to hard crash, don’t need to go all out. Lol. I’m not hard core. I do want to improve in the course and just my ski technique. I’m mainly open water. But sometimes hit the course if its set up on lake. I’m a 30 mph 15’ off. I would love to hit 22’ off, and be able get to 28’ off. Hope this helps. Good luck. Moski
  13. Huh interesting. On the flip side. I bet in 3-5 years the folks that are first time buyers of boats, camper trailers, atvs, motorcycles, lake homes/cabins, and any and other — i wonder what the % of them be selling these items in 3-5 years and probably a second wave in few years after that..... A % of those folks go back to their regular vacations, etc...... so will see a lot of these new toys they are buying up for sale...
  14. Just saw this thread. Love inboards and barefoot outboards. Slalom and footing... Also no towers in my opinion. Prostate 197 (prefer the later years 2011- 2013) always the best looking. Malibu Response TXI, 2015 (had to add mine, worked hard and saved up for it). Gekko GTO/GTR 22 (preferably walk thru). Very sleek looking. Malibu outboard Flighty, 1999 Mastercraft 190 (hell any year close bows are awesome) 2005 ish Malibu Response LXI
