  2. WWL would like to thank our latest sponsor 2sCreative.com! 2sCreative is run by fellow skier/photographer Spencer Shultz. Spencer has been generous enough to offer all league participants a 30% discount on his 2018 waterski calendar and a 50% discount to the winning team! His 2017 calendar included some incredible photos of Joel Howley, Whitney McClintock, Freddie Winter and many more! To check out more of 2sCreatives amazing work click the link above and show your support!
  3. In addition, we're excited to welcome back Pelagic gear as a league sponsor! Their boardshorts are fantastic for on the water fun! Just ask @nleuth

The schedule will be as follows: Top gun tourneys: 6/28 & 7/12 Handicap tourneys: 8/2 & 8/30 Championship: 9/6 Team sign-ups will begin next Wednesday 5/24/17 And if you haven't heard yet there are some new wrinkles that will be added to the 2017 rule book. To read more about the new additions please click here
  6. @sunvalleylaw that's a good looking vizsla.
  7. @aupatking Pelagic's 4Tek style shorts are great for skiing light and stretchy. Sharkskin are good too but they're a little heavier
  8. @lpskier good eye. Pelagic was kind enough to show support for the Wednesday waterski league last year and hooked us up with some gear for the winners each week. wednesdaywaterski.com/
  9. @Horton did you ever ride the Quest 45? I have both the Q45 and arc-s in for a demo now and after 10 rides, 6 on the q45 and 4 on the arc the data is pretty clear. 1.5@39 36mph on the q45 and not less than 4 @38 in any set. while the arc has yet to get past 3@38. *Note my favorite ski of all time is the X7 and using the fin settings I used on that the quest feels nearly identical. Stock settings not so much
  10. @nleuth with the way this season is starting I've got my sights set on the handicap tourneys haha
  11. Less than a month until the first tournament. Don't forget to get your team signed up to compete for prizes in our 2 top gun tournaments, 2 handicap tournaments and the composite championship. Prizes will be given to the individual winners of each tournament as well as a grand prize for the club that wins the championship! Prizes will be based on participation; the bigger the pool, the bigger the prize! So check out our website and of course reach out if you have any questions.
  12. I hope everyone is finding some spring weather. Just a reminder there's 1 month to go to get your teams signed up!
  13. Just trying different ways to remove the Gooru vest
  14. All teams and prizes will be revealed on Wednesday June 15th so make sure you get your team together and signed up before then!
  15. Trying to make it easier to pass around to friends and potential teammates, you can now check us out on Facebook
  16. @Skoot1123 @ToddL @ALPJr that's not going to be a problem there are a few people who have expressed the same concern. I'm definitely trying to make this an inclusive league and just add a competitive edge onto the usual fun. No need to quibble over the small stuff... When you sign up just have the captain send an email to the league with his/her name and team name at wednesdaywaterski@gmail.com and I will send you the team sign-up package. In those documents I will have a place to designate your ski day. The thing is that you will have to ski the weekend before the tournament week, as I am going to be posting the scores on Friday mornings. For example if we set a tournament for the week of 6/29 you guys would have to ski either 6/25-6/26 to get your scores in on time. All scores will be confidential until they are posted on Fridays so no team that skis later in the week will have the advantage of knowing how the other teams fared. The only other caveat that I'm thinking about including, would be that scores must be submitted within 24 hours of your designated ski day.
  17. @ALPJr I think that is something we can work out. I will be in touch with details.
  18. Don't forget. For those interested in joining the league, sign-ups begin tomorrow April 1st! http://wednesdaywaterski.com/ The first captain to sign-up his or her team will win a pair of board shorts courtesy of pelagic gear!
  19. That's good to know I will have to check it out sometime. Our league is going to be set up a little differently however in that; while we encourage USAWS memberships, and tournament sanctioning, neither is a requirement for participation. It's our hope that by lessening some of the limiting factors inherent with tournament skiing that we will be able to attract some new skiers to the competitive scene.
  20. Good point! We talked about that in the fall actually and something to that effect will be added to the rules before the season begins. I'm going to try and have all the rules in place and finalized by Mid-May or so. Each captain will receive an email containing the rules document, score sheets, team bio etc.
  21. We've had some good inquiries come in through email and I figure they were some questions that a number of people are thinking: The team fee is $250 for the year, and there will be prizes for individuals after each tournament as well as a grand prize (or maybe cash prize) for the team that wins the national championship. Prizes will be specified prior to the first tournament
  22. Hey all, Ski season is nearly upon us! As promised, 2016 will be the inaugural season for the Wednesday Waterski League. There will be 5 tournaments throughout the summer tentatively scheduled: Tournament 1: 6/29 Top Score Tournament 2: 7/13 Top Score Tournament 3: 8/24 Handicap Tournament 4: 8/31 Handicap Tournament 5: 9/7 National Championship (Combined top score & handicap score) For more details checkout the league website http://wednesdaywaterski.com/ Sign-ups will begin April 1st and the captain of the first team to sign-up will receive a free pair of board shorts courtesy of Pelagic Gear
  23. Sponsor Update! The Wednesday Waterski League would like to welcome our second official sponsor Pelagic! Pelagic Gear is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to salt water fun. Traditionally rooted in surf, fish, and dive culture; Pelagic offers a wide variety of products, from casual wear to high performance apparel. I personally have been skiing in their shorts for 3 seasons now and they're as good as advertised. Their 4-tek short design, with 4-way stretch technology, ultra-lightweight and Quik-Dry fabric is absolutely perfect for ripping through the course. While the SHARKSKIN board short design offers the perfect compromise between functionality and comfort. Complete with the 4-way stretch technology, the SHARKSKIN also adds the creature comforts necessary for a day at the lake. The Wednesday Waterski League is beyond excited to open up a new avenue for Pelagic to grow their brand and we just want to say thank you for your support! Ballers, if you're reading this, click on the link on our homepage and check out their awesome gear! ...lord knows our sport needs all the new blood we can get.
  24. Do this drill. I know it's a dated video but the drill is a good one.
  25. @eleeski 35 off at 18 mph is good for 42 buoys same score as running 26 mph long line... I'd say the 35 off @ 18 score certainly sounds better
