  1. We're putting the boat in on Sunday so that will be my first ski.
  2. Here's the backstory: after my early season warm-up (I live in Michigan, so warming up is key) I can run 34mph-15 about 99% of the time, 36mph-15 about 85% of the time and my practice PB is 3 at -22. What is the key to getting past the first loop? I want to know what has worked for others as far as training techniques (getting out of the course, sowing down, etc...) and if there is something I should focus on as far as technique goes. Thanks for any help.
  3. @msuws @rab is correct on that. I have a stealth and a duo that you can try out.
  4. This is all good stuff to consider. Does anybody know the price to demo skis? And if I did want to jump, would either place have stuff I could use?
  5. Does anybody have recommendations on where to ski in/near Charleston? I'll be there for a week with my family and my dad and I are looking to do some skiing while Michigan is still frozen solid. We'll be there from April 5th-13th and know of Seth Stisher's school and Trophy Lakes. We're trying to balance price, level of coaching, and ability to demo skis. We'll be slaloming only (unless someone would be cool with me borrowing their jumpers!)
  6. I've been on double Vectors all summer and I've found them easier to get on if you do the back foot first. I've had problems with releasing from them in the fact that I've never come out of them. I've dug my tip in at the first wake (36mph-15), flew across and landed in flat on the other side and ended up unzipping my vest all the way and didn't come out of them. I've made sure to only really tighten the bottoms and keep the tops just snug enough and I still don't come out. Over the winter I'm planning on either going to Stradas/Vapors (which I feel more comfortable on because I have ejected) or going back to rubbers.
  7. @Bruce_Butterfield I have been jumping on team 88" Connelly HC800's for the past year but I understand where you're coming from, I learned on 80" skis. And looking at the D3 size chart I'm right at the cusp of being into 90" skis
  8. @MattP into the 90's usually with a tournament PB of 86ft. The Connellys are 2008 and from the pictures don't seem to be used too much. The Goodman's are 2011 but are being sold by Daniel Efverstrom and he used them for 2 seasons so their condition might not be as good. @RazorRoss3 how old are they and how beat up are they? That's in my price range, but I don't want them to be too destroyed. That's why I'm trying to move from my team's skis; they've been beaten up pretty badly and need to last another couple years.
  9. What would the difference be between a set of 91" Goodmans and 90" Connelly LS 300s? Anything other than the extra inch? I don't know a whole lot about the skis themselves and I'm looking to purchase my own pair and these are both in my price range.
  10. I totally agree. The guys that made this are another awesome example:
  11. Being from Commerce, MI I think that's an awesome idea. I need some routine to keep me from getting more out of shape than I already am so I would definitely be interested
  12. Wisconsin-Madison and Iowa State i believe. That makes 7 teams from the Midwest with 6 of 7 going to D1
  13. At collegiate tournaments they allow wakeboarding and give it half the points of a single trick ski, just like 2 trick skis.
  14. @rq0013 that was actually the only time in my life so far that I've ran 36mph so -15.
